    As you age and the environment, what we eat and drink, and physical/emotional distress greatly reduces Melatonin as well as other chemicals the body naturally produces.
    People who suffer depression and anxiety, and medical conditions and illnesses also suffer insufficiency too.

    Finally, an explanation for why I always felt like I was underground all day at work.
    I knew it was the fluorescent lighting, but not that it likely interfered with the cortisol for daytime.
    So annoying, I always felt like I was in a semi lit tunnel.

    Wait, I heard we produce melatonin during the day too, from the sunlight! Part of it just goes to neutralize free radicals. And that we can get an extra dose of it by being next to a natural fire or candle lights.

    Hello, I just got my results and have looked at them with my naturopath, but I am still confused. Regarding the morning melatonin level, what happens if you go to the bathroom in the middle of the night? Would you pee some of your melatonin out and then have a lower amount in the morning waking test and thus this is why I showed low melatonin? thank you!

    • @KMF3

      From what I understand melatonin is one of those hormones that you have to have in the right balance you can have it too high or too low. So you might want to do a very low dose of melatonin to bring your blood pressure down.

    I’ve heard the opposite...that the body gathers melatonin during the day and releases it at night. Please clarify

      Amount of melatonin released in the evening is determined by the amount of natural sunlight exposed during the day.

    One question. I take 3mg. before bed every night. Is this a good way to avoid problems that melatonin can help avoid? Is this dose to low?

    If it’s so good for you. Why would I need a prescription for it here in Australia

    • @mda0214
      @mda0214 2 роки тому +3

      Because it's very potent. One of the strongest antioxidants. And if someone is on some type of prescription, melatonin can over power it and make it useless. You can buy melatonin off the shelf here in the u.s. . But it's recommended to talk to a doctor if you're taking other things.
