I love seeing your early quilts. Brings back memories for me. I too made quilts for my 6 kids and quilting was my outlet. I still have one I made for my 29 yo daughter and it’s my favorite. We didn’t have very much money, so I would use old sheets for the backs and old blankets for the batting. My quilts now are fancier, but my early quilts hold a special place in my heart.
Hi Tammy! I love to listen to all of the information that you share about your quilts. Colors, patterns, designs, pantographs. I learn so much each time I watch you. Thank you so much.❤
I love your first quilt! I used to do a lot of cross stitch and embroidery! I made a few pillows with them or framed them as gifts. Quilting was not in my list of crafts or skills! I didn’t know anyone who made quilts. I had no idea how to make quilts and had not thought of ever making one. I can see how well loved your girls’ quilts are! How wonderful! Ste__en’s quilt is really neat, too! I do have some John Deere fabric in my stash that I hope to use this year. I can see how the dowel rod would help keep the tension even. Great idea! Wow! Cammy and her mom are extraordinary quilters! Beautiful quilts! Her brother is really getting a work of art! Quilts like that look so complicated and exact! Did Cammy say how long her mom has been quilting? Joy must like working with small pieces! Just beautiful! Some lucky bed will get this one! The poppy quilt is very pretty. I like the color combination! That light block reminds me of 4 bow tie blocks put together. Ellen has been busy, too! Her sampler quilt is pretty! The blue, green, and red quilt does look like it was set on point! Since all the parts are not even, the blocks might not be too difficult to piece! The Minky looks perfect! The last quilt has similar parts I have seen on Pat Sloan’s channel. I like Ellen’s backing, too! Please know that your work makes them all beautiful quilts! Your work is gorgeous! I hope to see you next week!
Thank you for sharing all your tips & tricks on longarm quilting. I just got access to a 24" longarm handiquilter and I will be making the side leaders before I go quit again! I love all your family stories and your quilting! ❤Thank you!!
What a lovely peek into your beautiful family. I always learn so much from you and appreciate how you used what you had for the quilting on your early quilts before you had the longarm. So nice that your kids appreciate the love you put into their quilts.
I love watching your videos every week. The music is so soothing, the quilts are so inspiring and the information you provide has taught me so much. I enjoy the stories about your life and family. I really look forward to each posting. We each have our own quilting journey and I enjoyed learning about yours today. Thanks so much ♥
I love the opening to your video with that soothing music and looking at the beautiful quilting! I had 4 kids in 7 years and I made quilts for them. They were about 5 inch squares of various prints and I sewed them together for the top. The backing was flannel. Very rustic but they loved them.
You are so natural!!! The memories are wonderful. How time has changed from when we took our children with us. We did t drop off at a sitters or have our time!!! Love the quilts down memory lane. I was thirteen when I started my first quilt. Hand pieced and quilted. Love it. Thank you look forward to all you do
Hi Tammy, I loved seeing your early quilts and I especially loved that your children still love and use them. That really says alot! I really loved the quilt with grayish stars from Tami's mom, the quilt inspired by "Corona" and the "poppies". Beautiful quilts and your quilting makes them so. Thank you for your videos.
I loved seeing your well-loved quilts and learning about how you got into quilting. Oh my, how I loved hearing about you shopping with your young children around the baby's feeding schedule❣️ You are so encouraging about wherever we are in our own journey. It is very interesting to see how you manipulate and align quilts on the long arm especially since I have no idea how long-arms work. Thank you for all the information. Children's laughter is the BEST mood booster ever❣️
Wow you are really getting a lot of quilts done now that you have 2 machines rolling! Good for you and good for us! I really appreciate the longarming tips - with the batting - i had not heard of that before and hope to try it out soon. Thank you Tammie!❤
Tammie, I love this video! I am in the process of making my two daughters and three grandchildren quilts. I am so happy to see these lovely quilts with so many memories. Thank you for sharing.
I love these videos! It’s so fun to see your projects and those of others. Thanks for doing these! Edited after I heard you talking about having 7 young kids. Good for yo7 for still looking sane after all that. 😉. I had two girls and there were day when I thought that was way too many. Such a nice happy family I’m sure.
Love the tips & tricks you share, Tammie! I have been longarming for over 12 years & never heard about your method of checking alignment all the way across plus adding batting to correct any discrepancies! Thank you SEW much for that information. BTW, I have recommended your channel to my quilt guild so I hope you get a ton more subscribers. 🩷
Really enjoyed seeing your first quilts. I can't imagine the hours it took you to complete all the cross stitch. So many people have tons of completed cross stitch in boxes under their bed not knowing what to do with them. Great idea! And your girls quilts with the same base fabric but still different was clever. Can't wait to see more of your quilting journey.
Thank you for sharing your processes. Although I don't have Pro Stitcher on my LA, I found it very interesting and informative. Also... love hearing the background giggles!
Thank you for showing some of your beginning quilts. I love that they are loved. I make my quilts to be used and I am excited to see when they are being used. When I give a quilt as a gift I tell them to use it and that it is just cotton fabric so it is washable. I personally like the crinkle look after a quilt is laundered and my DIL likes that looks also because “it gives her permission to use the quilt”. As always, I love seeing the weekly quilt show.
Loved to see your beginner quilts. I started out last year in November. We had decided with our kids" just hand made gifts" for Christmas for our secret Santa. I decided to make a quilt. I got hooked, now I am on my 5th one.😂 I have just a regular sowing mashine. Watching your videos and info made me look into local long arm quilter. Now they quilt all my quilts. Thank you.
I enjoyed seeing all the beautiful projects in this video, and hearing about your beginning quilt journey. The quilting program on your longarm is different from mine. It was interesting to see how yours works.
I have no experience with other digital programs but I’m assuming there must be similar features. It’s just figuring out how your own machine works. I hope it was still helpful.
Love seeing your old quilts! That second one that has the four patches and been so loved/used is precious! Should you get to where you think it's going to get all used up, you could get a pattern and make some teddy bears or farm animals or something out of them to gift to your children/grandchildren. Whomever would treasure them. Would be a great, special or nostalgic gift for those who would treasure them. You know those sheep or ducks people make with soft cloth bodies but with wooden wheels and base and a little rope to pull them? Would be cute to make little cows/sheep/ducklings/pigs out of that patchy quilted material. Even pillows into pumpkins (since you had a pumpkin patch). Something special. Just an idea. Might not be enough there for too many things and might not be ready to "put it out to pasture" so to speak.
I was just a few minutes in. You have more well loved quilts! Could use that idea with any of them! I am still in the beginner stage. But, you're a pro!
I was focusing on the star quilt which is beautiful and then I caught a glimpse of the next quilt and my mind was like what is that I want to see that now 😆
I love watching your videos! I believe that Cami’s quilt that had the modern roses on the back is a Missouri star quilt pattern. I’m not sure of the name of it, but it is in one of their books that I have.
I love hearing how you started quilting, and the journey. I also started quilting when my kids were small. I took block of the month classes on Saturdays to increase my skills. I did end up taking a 10 year hiatus from quilting and took up knitting. Just got back into quilting 6 months ago. Do you only do pantographs now? Just wondered if you still do self guided even if it’s only for yourself. 😊
Welcome back! It’s good to have seasons of different crafts! I only do pantographs. There’s so little time! I may try some custom quilting on my own in the near future but only E2E designs for clients.
I think the tightness of the sandwich is a personal choice. I know some longarmers who like it pretty loose. I tend to like mine pretty tight. I feel like the bigger issue is the tension and lining up pantographs. If you can achieve those results with a loose sandwich, great. If not, try a tighter set up. Working out how you can achieve those results takes practice and a lot of time at the machine to learn what works best for you. Hope that helps.
I was wondering what you’ll be doing on your temperature quilt for April 8 th representation of the eclipse 💭Any cute ideas for that day in our quilts . Thanks
Tammy I purchased the pattern lemon peel, love it but was wondering do you set up quite a few rows to make it look right? I love watching your videos Love love them.
Yes. I actually create an area for the whole quilt and repeat the pattern to fill the entire space. I know not everyone does it that way but it works for me.
Hi Tammy My ❓ I have completed a Lori Holt pattern, it is a Friendship Star" that it 40" x 40". I have a JUKI TL2010Q. This will be the first time I'll be Quilting it on the JUKI. My question is should I do a Border. I'm going to try and send a picture
Tammie great video. A video or two ago, you had a package of needles you got and said they would be hard to use because of arthritis in your fingers. What type of needles and size do you use? Thanks for the help
Can you do a video of how you do your drag and drop please. I use it on my HQ and im not quite getting how you are describing it. I do the needle down way and would love to try something else. Thank you
Hi Tracy. I did needle down for a long time but learned from some fellow longarm friends, about the Drag and Drop. I even use it to reposition my needle when starting the machine in the morning. I will plan on doing a demonstration soon.
Thanks for sharing how you maintain a perfectly matched panto. Do you do this with every panto? Even the ones that aren’t as tightly nested? My friend and I call this “stuffing the bra”. lol.
I thought it was cute to hear the kiddos! Loved the laughs! Beautiful quilts!
Glad you enjoyed it!

You are so kind. To be fair, my husband would occasionally take a day off and give me a "day off", More so once they were all done nursing, though.
Oh my gosh I love hearing your story. Thank you for sharing.
You are so welcome!

Loved seeing your early quilts! So many amazing quilts today. I really appreciate all the information you give for each. Thank you, thank you!
My pleasure!
Loved seeing your older first quilts and hearing the stories! The customer quilts were beautiful!
Thanks so much!
I love your tutorials and all the information you share ♥️
Thank you so much!

Oh my goodness Tammy thank you for showing me that… my quilting is not perfect at all, I was so disappointed! You have given me encouragement!
You can do it! Don’t give up!
That poppy quilt is gorgeous......just ordered the pattern....going to do a QOV with this.....thanks for your very inspiring videos.
Wonderful! That is exciting!
How lovely to see your early quilts! And especially to know your children still use them. They most certainly are well loved.
They are! Thanks so much!

I love seeing the quilts and the quilt patterns
Thanks so much!
I made the same cross stitch quilt for my first child. My fabric was mint green. It also had a ruffle.
No way! That’s so ironic! I bet it was lovely!

I love your choice for the backing fabric on the Labyrinth quilt

Always love to hear kids playing! Happy sounds!

Tammie great video. A video or two ago, you had a package of needles you got and said they would be hard to use because of arthritis in your fingers. What type of needles and size do you use? Thanks for the help
I don’t have any specifics. Just a longer needle but not one with a huge eye either.

🤣. Too funny! Yes, I do it with Al pantos. Even if it’s not a precise point, I want to maintain consistent spacing throughout the design.
Sorry, I ment Cammy, not Tami. Difficult hearing.
😉
