Tammie!! LOL. My 2 cents: set aside the rescues and kitted projects for the time being. Finish the spool quilt completely, then assemble your quilts that have completed blocks; Wonky Stars and Bliss. Sew some bindings during family tv or movie time. Then feel greatly accomplished and work on whatever calls to you. All of Tammie’s quilts deserve to be finished” 💕
Wow! Thank you! I’m so glad that I am not the only one! I recently “excavated” my sewing studio. It seems that I like to start projects, but I’m not so good at finishing them. I have similar piles/ stacks of started, to be started, and almost finished quilts. I like your idea of making lists so you can physically see and check off items as they are completed. You have inspired me to chug away. My word of the year is “ finish it”!
You can do it!
My method for choosing what to finish is...I go through all my project, estimated how long each will take to finish, sort by shortest to longest, and start with the shortest! Quickest gratification! My favorites sometimes get pushed to the front. ☺
That's a great idea! Go for the quick wins!
@tammieearnest and you have something to show for it! I like checking off lists. You have several that you can check off rather quickly. YOU CAN DO IT!! now I need to do the same thing!
I am feeling overwhelmed just seeing all of your projects. I like to complete things. I myself wouldn’t start anything else and work on what I started
Your long arm videos are a game changer for me!!! Thank you so much for doing them!
I'm so glad!
I enjoyed watching you go through your UFO/WIP, new and older projects for 2024. Thanks for sharing. I definitely need to get busy working up my to do list for this year😬 I was sewing up a boxy pouch while I was watching so I didn’t feel so bad about being a slacker! 😂 Wishing you an awesome and productive year ahead😊
Love that you are planning your quilt to make progress this year. It’s possible as long as we plan and get in the craft/sewing rooms and sew. I love having multiple of quilts in different stages and when I go into the room I pick up whatever quilt I want to do that day. Ironing, cutting, piecing, glueing, appliqué, sewing rows, adding borders or quilting. Sometimes I’ll pick something that is close to finishing. But I let myself choose depending on time or feeling. This way I have no rules. I also don’t limit myself from starting new things. If this didn’t work for me I wouldn’t do it but I love playing with everything I have in the works. So for me it’s not overwhelming nor stressful. Although many people like to work on one thing at a time and those of us who love having so many things in the works it’s wonderful that people share how and what works for them. Gives us all a chance to try other methods we haven’t tried. And also encourage those who do things that are different than our own method or choice. Have fun is the only rule I put on myself for quilting. Have fun planning your new year. ❤❤❤❤
Great advice! Thanks!
Happy birthday! My birthday and my husband’s birthday is today January 11.
Your quilting plans sound amazing. Wow! I learning how to quilt following Lori Holt. That’s my plan for 2024.
Thank you for sharing.
Happy birthday to you and your husband. -Martha
Oh my goodness, so many projects, I'm overwhelmed just watching you, pull one project after another. Will be watching to see How you get along. We here in South Africa have to pay so much for our fabric as we only have imported fabrics, so my mouth is watering just with the amount of the most beautiful fabrics, colors and patterns. 😊
I wish I could share with you!
I have major anxiety after watching this video..lol…I do not have nor ever had UFO’s and only work on max 2 quilts at a time….sometimes I may have a hand project going too (EPP) that I do when traveling etc. Although I do have projects kitted up and ready, I don’t start any until current projects completed. So, since you asked for comments on what to work on, I obviously recommend you get all the Long-arming done and binding done…then UFO’s done before you start anything else. I just get too excited to see my projects completed that is enough motivation for me to get it done. Sorry..I’m not much help except to say all the projects are gorgeous…
wow...this inspires me to get organized for the new year...i also have some kits that i got on sale and haven't done....love the red fabric the most and making a red quilt is on my list this year....i use my Stripology Ruler every time i'm cutting binding, mulitiple strips and also squaring up blocks!...i think you will see it shortens cutting time and accuracy
I need to try the Stripology Ruler soon!
I love red fabric too!
Love love love the Scarlet Galaxy and the Cory Yoder box kit quilt. I have so many projects I’m trying to finish this year too. I’m definitely going to make 3 Edyta Sitar quilts - Her new Birthday Mystery Quilt, Common Bride quilt, and Tree Farm. I’m finishing up the Primrose quilt this weekend. I have a Cory Yoder wooly stars Quilt, a Teresa Kogut Kris Kringle quilt kit, and an Elizabeth Hartman Fab Farm quilt on my list for the year. The rest I’ll just let it happen if it happens.
Sounds like you have great plans as well!
Primitive Gatherings does make triangle paper for charm packs now.
Thanks 👍🏻
Great video! You might be interested in Laundry Basket Quilts, Edyta Sytar weekly block sew along in 2024. It will be for a total of 55 blocks. It is a mystery quilt, but I think a great use of scraps. One block a week doesn’t seem overwhelming !
I'll check it out!
I enjoy watching all your videos. Had no idea you had all these behind the scenes projects going. Some of them resemble mine or some I'm putting on my list. I just finished the Granny Square quilt, love it. Now I want to make the scrappy one you're doing from the Scrappiness is Happiness book. Hope to see your Sew Scrappy Spools finished next video. I've always wanted to make an Edyta Sitar pattern also. I have her Trip Around the Island ready to start. Can't believe you found an abandoned Winter Village kit! You should definitely have quilts for those new Grandchildren at the top of the list.
The flannel quilt looks great! The floral sashing was a good constant.
I like it too!
You certainly have quite the list of quilts to do! I would start with the easiest one and finish the plaid WIP and then do the Corey Yoder cottages. After those two I think I would assign numbers to the others and put the numbers in a hat and pick one and finish the top (at least) and keep drawing numbers until the quilts are all done!😁Of course you can't add any new projects or you will never finish,LOL! Thanks for sharing 😊
Thank you for showing your UFOs, I am also going to get a notebook to organize. Love some of your projects.
Have fun!
Loved hearing about your upcoming plans, but it was an exhausting list! I really hope personally to see the red & white quilt soon. That was a great project to adopt from someone! Enjoy!
Loved seeing all your ideas for 2024. My list is just as long! Your videos are always so much fun.
We can do this!! 😁
Awesome projects you’ve got going this year! I am also doing a temperature quilt…different pattern …and it’s going well so far. I just hope I keep up with it! I also have kits I want to dive into and get those projects started and hopefully completed! I have a small planner I use every day and just jot down what I’ve done each day in my sewing room, and also make plans for upcoming projects.
31:26 I just discovered your channel last month. ❤️. So today I am watching your plans for 2024. I have also done my planning for this year and I have Quilty fun along, Cory Youder houses with picket fences. I have all the houses completed for Kimberly’s house quilt from each designer fabrics. I used lots of left overs from my sew sampler boxes. It was fun. Looking forward to watching your next video. Finish that spools quilt…your colors are beautiful.
Loved watching everything! From the introduction to all the piles of blocks to the fabrics, then the patterns and rescues, it was all so beautiful! My vote is for the Kira quilt.
Thanks!
I very much enjoyed this video! Can’t wait to see what projects you make this year!
Yay! Thank you!
Really enjoyed seeing all your projects. In my opinion, I would finish the ones that are closest to being complete, then move forward from there. I so enjoy all your videos. Thank you. By the way, for my block house quilt, I have decided to do each house with left-over fabric from each quilt that I’m doing for each family member. It may not match well, but I will have a sample of each person’s quilt.
Those are some lofty goals!!! I now have some great ideas on how to organize and prioritize all of the things I'd like to complete this year.....thank you for taking the time to share with us. And that box of red and white fabrics made me drool! How beautiful ❤
I like to set big expectations! 💕
Love , Love, your videos. Watch for them every week. I too have many UFO's and kits in different stages. I have 2 tops that are in the final stages of assembly (a red/white stars quilt and a Judy Niemeyer). I will not let myself work on any other projects until those 2 are finished. I need to see some completion! Suggestion, you have the spool quilt on the frame almost done and did you finish the Garden Lori Holt applique? Since those are so close, finish those before moving on to another. See you next week.
You are so right, thank you!
I love your projects. I too like to create goals and it helps me get things done.
Love that!
Love your ufo, I have been attempting to get the oldest ufos done this year, one being a grandmother’s flower garden, EPP project. Yeah what was I thinking.. enjoyed this video. Looking forward to see what you get accomplished. Inspire me.
Thank you for the video. I really enjoyed watching. I have a large list of projects to complete myself. So love quilting!
Wonderful! It's so much fun!
Thank you for all the links.❤
You are so welcome!
Some members of my local quilt quild have been lucky enough to find abandoned projects or blocks at garage/estate sales. I love seeing how they finish them. Good for you for rescuing and completing them. too. I would definitely finish the plaid quilt into a large floor blanket for your grand babies and once they outgrow using it that way, it will make a nice throw, beach or picnic blanket. I even use quilts on my picnic or dining room tables. I really like that look.
I also LOVE the Scarlet Galaxy 'Kit' you purchased at an auction. What a treasure!
I am anxious to see what you think about the using piecing papers since I haven't tried that and I am curious about the srripology ruler.
I have things ready to make Lori Holt's project boards today. I haven't used those before.
You have so many great projects pretty much ready to go. I can hardly wait to see them become future heirlooms! Thank for sharing and inspiring us.
I really enjoyed seeing your projects.❤ I need to pull mine out and make a plan for finishing them. Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure!
Really enjoying your videos.🇨🇦
Glad you like them!
Have you looked at Primitive gatherings half square triangle paper?
I would like to try them out this year.
Always love to see what you are working on. I just finished my Villages houses quilt and it’s at my long armer and I’m anxious to get the binding on it and starting using it. I also did the Oh Say Can You Sew and it about did me in. The month we had to do those 1132 hst was bad until we had to sew them all together. I did finish it last year and ready to the patriotic holidays get here. My current project is called Groove is in the Heart and I am really loving this one and everything else has come to a halt. Happy Quilting on all those many projects.
You are my inspiration!
I am so glad that I am not the only one that has quite a number of quilts to finish, not to mention the number of kits I have that have not yet been started. I also am working on a couple of BOMs and have signed up for a couple more, ( what was I thinking). I also have a number of “I want to make that” ideas in my mind. My year is staring off making a couple of baby quilts.
Your Lori Holt Scrappy Spools quilts is stunnning.
Thank you for sharing your quilt progress and plans with us. Hoping this will be a fun and productive year in all of our quilting adventures.
And you as well! As quilters, we don't think . . . we feel! What's another BOM? It's only one block a month!
Wow Tammie, you sure have made me feel better about all my to do projects. I get overwhelmed if I have to look at all my projects so I do keep some in the closet. But my goal it to list all of them and then keep the list handy. I do have 3 or 4 out where I can see them and those are the ones I will work on first. I am trying to focus on ONE quilt or project at a time except for the monthly ones. If I do that I seem to actually get more completely done and it makes me feel better. Thank you for this video and cheers to 2024! May we all finish a lot of projects!!!
We’re in this together! 😀
This is the second time I’ve watched your UA-cam channel. So glad I came across your videos. Today was a delight to see your projects.
Thank you so much!
Yes! Yes! Yes! I’ve been wanting to see a Quilting Plans 2024 video! I’ve been enjoying all the cross stitch WIP parades but was longing for a quilt version too. I have my plans for quilting corresponding with each month of the year. 😊 Thanks, Tammie for a fun video! ❤
Yay! Thank you!
Kira would be amazing to see. I have one size of the Stripology Squared Ruler, but have only used it once. Scarlet Galaxy also is one of my favorites to see you complete. The Picket Fence Cottage pattern is also interesting to me, as they are "go big or go home" blocks! Thank you for the mention & link to the temperature quilt. It is the best I have seen so far. I would also make one for my meteorologist friend. Thank you Tammie.
That would be cool!
I really love the Coriander Quilts house quilt do I would start with that one and also the wonky star quilt. I also look forward to the red/white quilt kit. Those fabrics are so beautiful!! ❤
Sounds great!
Enjoyed this and so glad I am not the only one who has repurposed the greens containers! They are perfect for scraps or small projects😊
So true!
Enjoy seeing them do the challenge a mix I love 1 and 2 in peace
Thank you for sharing your plans for 2024 and all the inspirations. I have also a couple of projects which needing finishing or starting in 2024 🌼
You can do it!
I just subscribed today, I'm so glad I'm not the only one with several sewalongs and projects I need to finish.
We’re all in this together! 😀
❤❤❤ Tammie, this was a great video. It gave me so many ideas. Now I'm not so overwhelmed with all my UFOs & Wips.. thank you thank you thank you.
My pleasure!
beautiful plan
Thanks a lot
WOW you are ambitious!❤ I have Cory’s quilt kit, too, and have yet to start it lol since we all feel in the beginning more energized and ready to go, I would recommend for you to work on the most challenging quilt first and when you need a breather from it, work on the least challenging quilt or start assembling the ready made blocks that you have laying around and just waiting to be completed into a quilt. It will be exciting to see what you are able to accomplish this year. I hope you use this video as a reference for your year end video, to see what you have gotten done. It’ll be exciting to see. And I know it will inspire so many of us to finish our projects as well.
Happy New Year Tammie 💖
You are so kind! Thank you!
Wow!!! You'll be busy ALL year!! Have fun. I have such limited funds and capacity but am usually busy.
Very entertaining
.
Thanks for wataching.
So inspiring Tammie! Thanks for sharing your plans. I too have more plans amd dreams than 5 people could accomplish during a year. But I love to have options and love everything quilting. With you thinking of trying new processes, I recommend the Deb Tucker tools of Studio 180 Design. The wee bit of oversizing and trimming down for accuracy makes all the difference in the accuracy of my blocks. That also means the enjoyment of my quilting is sky high! Good luck with your plans. Love to see all that you work on, and all your customer finishes too. Keep up the great work. ❤
I'll check it out, thanks! Wishing you the finish of many, many quilts in 2024!
I think the print on the plaid/sashing rescue quilt is fine. It's hard to find fabric that's not too feminine for man quilts. But that flower almost looks more like a snowflake to me. Maybe I don't see it as well, but I don't feel it's too feminine. It would also be a nice picnic size quilt. Love all the projects and can't wait to see them done! First I had ever heard of a temperature quilt. Neat concept! I would like one that uses the 1/2 square triangle trees. I think that would be cool and really like the looks of those tree quilts.
Thanks for the encouragement!
Love all your work. Suggestion for your leader/enders... how about a mini wall quilt?
How about taking some WIPs and making mug rugs, throw pillows, mini wall quilts? Love the wonky starts into baby quilt!❤
Yes, great idea!
Love Civil War fabrics..and in a spool quilt I think it will be WONDERFUL..I love that you are a quilter open to so many interesting things..
I do LOVE so many different color ways and fabrics!
I would finish at least 3 of the Corey Yoder house blocks to free up your foam board. I am currently working on a project using Beautiful Day too. Then I would do that flannel quilt as it would be a quick finish. The next one I like is the one you need to do all the pressing and put together stars. Think that would be fun to see the blocks come together. I have done Threadbare and it is very fast to put together. You will like that one. Love seeing your projects.
Thanks for your feedback! That helps!
OMGosh you do have a ton of things going.
OMGosh!!! I have found MY PEOPLE! 😂😂😂 I have tons of WIP and hope to get them all completed this year. 🤞 I LUV to cut and piece, not so much sandwiching..😢 I don't mind binding. So, sandwiching is a blahhh for me. I am cutting up my scraps for a scrappy quilt as I watch your video...❤ So HAPPI you came across my feed...✨️ You have FABULOUS quilt patterns. 🎉🪡🧵
Yay! Thank you!
I JUST KEEP WATCHING THIS OVER AND OVERYOU ARE QUICKLY BECOMING MY FAVORITE QUILTING CHANNEL
Oh, you are the best! Thank you!
There is certainly not enough hours in the day for you to achieve everything that you showed us on your video today.Good luck with it all. I particularly loved the scarlet galaxy fabric. Such stunning red fabrics, they really called me and that would be one I would do for sure. However I know you really loved the pattern with the trucks and pumpkins as it reminds you of your families past so I think you should make that a priority for you. Just imagine the joy making that quilt will bring you. ❤
Thanks 👍
Red and white. Go!
Love all your projects whether they are completed, waiting to be started , or partially done. The spool quilt is beautiful! I wish I could help you to tell you what I would by I'm lost with my own. Love the show.
Thanks for watching!
❤ red white and blue! Doing MBH5-2 in red white and blue. Love using “the papers”, especially Lisa Bongene’s. They are a HUGE time saver.
Love your posts. Looking forward to joining the circle.
Thanks.
Wonderful! Moda Blockheads in red, white and blue sounds lovely!
You have a lot to chose from, my suggestion is some of my favorites, the lrg house kit, and the red, white & blue.
Thanks! I'm looking forward to them all!
I love your pallet colors so earth tone
Thank you!
I did three Winter Villages, but left off the appliqué! And I still loved them.
Great plan! Maybe that’s what I’ll do too.
My husband and I just celebrated our 32nd anniversary on Jan. 1st! So similar! ❤️
I can relate to having quilts finished except for the binding! I have five that are fully quilted, but I never bound them! Why?! It's crazy!
Thanks for another great video! I really enjoyed hearing all about your quilting plans!
Do you bind by machine? That speeds up the process considerably.
That is awesome! Thanks for watching!
New to this site. Enjoyed seeing all. I am also working on my P H D( projects half done) will watch this site again ❤️🎶❤️🎶❤️🎶🎶🎶
Awesome! Thank you!
I did the Winter Village quilt after looking at it for a few years. Soooo glad I did as it turned out great! Do this one first! 😉
Thanks for sharing!
My choice would be to finish the ones closest to being finished. This would provide a sense of accomplishment. Great discussion.
So smart!
One way that you might find helpful in completing more blocks for the chex mix leaders & enders project, is to use the clear tubs like the spinch one you showed earlier. I use those all the time to organize my scraps by color & size b/c they are easy to pull and sew from. I would spend 10-20 min at a time to add fabrics to. those and refill your muffin tins quickly as you use up a color. I love that you are doing that as I haven't done one of those yet. I am ironing yardage for a Mystery Stars sew along using a jelly roll and I am adding some of my stash fabric as I watch/listen to this video. I may chime in again later.
Great idea!
Thanks for this video. About 2 yrs ago I organized my projects, wrote in a book what I had in terms of fabrics and projects. Seeing this video has made me determined to complete at least 20% of what I started. But what throws me off is the new sew alongs that start in January ? Currently I’ve started 2 new projects. lol I have to stop taking on new projects.
I love the wooly stars. I haven’t started it yet but am very excited to do it this year. Trying to finish some of my many UFO’s
You can do it!
So glad YT recommended your channel today. I am totally overwhelmed with projects planned, started, half completed or kitted by me. Way way too much. I have to take a break from starting new things until I get a few finished. I've started a master list with steps remaining and checkoffs for rewarding myself. It's gonna be all of 2024 I think. I did have the courage to abandon 4 projects I don't love anymore. Yay me!
Good for you! Wishing you a very productive 2024!
I so get it! Maybe... (since you can't stay up as late as you used to, you add another day to each week of the year. I think all the lovely projects could fit into 2024 that way.) But seriously, perhaps tackle WIPs & adopted in closest-to-a-finish order? Could be encouraging to see things completed in between the other quilt alongs, etc. lovely video, as always😊
Great idea!!
I love house blocks.Counting the projects from the Sew Sampler il, Quilt Kits. Block of the month. I have around 90. This year is a no buy year for me This will keep me busy for the next 3 to 4 years! At least. I was very ill last year and only got 2 quilts done. I did what you did. I went into my sewing room and wrote down all of the kits, all of the projects from the sew sampler boxes (I think these should be fast) fabric that goes with patterns and so on.Some are bowl Cozys, Pot Holder Sets, Table Topers, Table Runners, simple small things. Not all are full size or even lap size quilts, a few are baby quilts, so many could be done very fast. A couple are pannel quilts. I have Lori's Calender and the quilt pages (3 sets) So I need to get busy! I also counted block of the month from My quilting Life. I do this every year. And Kits I had ordered last year that won't come in until March, June, July of 2024. And I am at least printing the patterns out for Blockheads 5. I will also be doing the quilty Row by row since I have Lori Holt fabric and the book. Did you at least print off the clues for all the Lisa Bongean quilt? I bought the Blue Winter quilt you showed you bought. I may never get that one made but it is so beautiful.
It sounds like you're going to have a wonderful "quilty" 2024!
Holy cow!!! I guess you are only planning to sleep 2 hours a day this year to get all these projects finished!! Lol
I, too, am making lists this year to try to keep myself on track and chart my progress. I have a really bad habit of starting a project, getting into it, seeing something else that catches my eye, putting project 1 aside, starting project 2, repeat, repeat, repeat. I really like the way you separated your projects by category. I am going to copy your idea.
My motto for this year is "More in 24" and I am making a sincere effort to finish some of my many started projects.
Wishing you the best!
My mind reels seeing all your projects! I think your should finish the Pickett Fence Cottages and the Galaxy Stars quilts. Love those red fabrics. I have 2 quilts I am working on. Erica Arnt's 2023 Sew With Me bom... Waiting for setting layout this month and Krista Moser's Peppermint Candy quilt... Waiting for backing fabric to arrive. This quilt uses her 60degree ruler by Creative Grids. Challenging but fun.
Wishing you the best!
Fun projects in store for you! The Corey Yoder pattern - sooooo cute. Last year (Jan) I bought some sort of quilting journal and jotted down the WIPs and patterns I’d like to make… there are about 100 items on the list 😅. Well, we r not in a race, right?!❤
It's a long fun journey!
Beautiful projects ahead.... however, I can hear the passion in your voice when you feature the McCalls Scarlet Galaxy. The red and whites are just stunning!!
Good call!
I loved seeing your projects, I am doing a lot of the same, I never saw your finish on calico garden, I am struggling through it.
It’s not quilted yet. Hopefully soon! Keep chugging through, you’ll be glad you did.
I use an excel spreadsheet with different tabs for WIPs, BOM, and completed. I think I will make a tab for kits as I have a few of those. On my WIPs I keep a column for "Next Steps" and Destination. I am a finisher so I don't have too many that get to those last steps and get put to a back burner. I found it such a motivator to move a project to the next step and then to move it to the Completed Tab. I added any sewing project I did which included quilting for others, dog beds, pillowcases, or anything else. I ended 2023 with 89 projects completed!!
Wow! So productive!
Oh my word. This was so great! I saw [too many] beautiful projects that tried to crawl on to my "goals" list. I'm in my RV in AZ ... all my kits, WIPs, UFOs are back home in SD. This gave me the heebie-jeebies (in a good way) to get back home and start SEWING. Is it spring yet? [Wink]
Enjoy your time away! It will be spring soon enough!
Please finish Oh say can you sew soon some day….. ALL are fabulous can’t wait to see them all ❤
So many things to choose from. I always think zip, zip zip and I’ll be done and take way longer than that. Personally, I am not crazy about the Stripology ruler, I prefer Quilters Select rulers. Papers can be a game changer sometimes. Do you set aside certain days for personal sewing?
I try. But it doesn’t always work out 🫣
I want to do the Summerville.
Enjoyed this video because I am also going to focus on finishing UFOs. I have so many projects that were never started and rediscovered while reorganizing my space. Such gorgeous fabric that has been neglected too long. I may repurpose some of it with new patterns that continue to be published. I look forward to seeing you work on the red and white quilt
Wishing you the best in 2024! It’s going to be a great year!
I love using triangle paper…..I have always loved doing foundation paper piecing so when this triangle paper came out I grabbed it. I have struggled with getting un-wonky half-square triangles and triangle paper has made that possible for me. They are so much more uniform when I use the paper and Kimberly Jolly’s instructions. I have much greater success. If you have not used them, I think you will find them helpful. If you don’t struggle with getting uniform half square triangles you will probably find it takes a little longer because you do have to tear the paper off in the end. I don’t mind the extra step of tearing off the papers because I cannot seem to get them to match up together without it. I did find some success when I purchased a good squaring up tool, the Perfectly Slotted Trimmer, but even then if they are too small which seems to happen a lot for me, you can’t square them to the size you need if that’s bigger. I have tried everything that was suggested and triangle paper works best for me. And I use it. You don’t have to think or measure, you just have to follow the lines. Thanks Tammie for sharing. I love your videos because you are so unfrenzied and matter of fact about things. Your quilting is so gorgeous and you make all those quilt tops grow into beautiful quilts to be loved and used by so many. I can’t wait to watch you work through that stack of stuff you showed us today. Your blocks are beautifully pieced, so I know they will become beautiful quilts. Thanks for sharing your quilting journey.
Thank you so much!
0n the Winter Village you could also embroider the branches and snowflakes.
Good idea.
Wow! You have a lot of WIPs. I don’t feel so bad about mine. I don’t have that many, mostly QALs that I do weekly or monthly. Thank you for sharing!
My pleasure!
It seems that some of your WIP could be used as leaders and enders, so you could work on two at a time. I've never seen Oh Say Can you Sew. If it were mine, I'd make as many blocks as I have units and if its an usable size, maybe use the 9 patches for a border and don't make anymore of the time consuming HST blocks.
I loved all of your projects. All of them would bring me joy to work on. Here's to a productive 2024.
Everyone is a joy!
The homespun plaid with the floral sashing makes for a very interesting dichotomy, i.e., I think it's going to look awesome when it's done. We sewists all seem to have a pretty long list of UFOs/WIPs. I think it's the nature of the beast.
So true.
I have stripology rulers. They are fantastic.
Thanks for the info!
You are amazing I can't finish one .lol You are getting circles under your eyes you need rest too,I use to work like that and it really affected my body, you're just amazing gurl.😊
I forgot I love the box of reds and whites, you look pretty too.
Tammie: Pick one and get 'dinner on the table' - Karen Brown style: Just Get It done! You have some wonderful looking blocks. If you don't completely like the final projects, there are plenty of organizations and groups who relish receiving quilts and they will go to appropriate recipients. Commit the 30-minutes a day to them. The satisfaction will be phenomenal and a much greater high than the stress and frustration of that in the back of your mind.
Thanks!
i love the scarlet galexy
♥️
I so enjoyed this video. I suggest you work on Winter Village by Laundry Basket Quilts and Scarlet Galaxy in those beautiful red & white fabrics🙂❤
Great idea!
Very interesting and inspiring. It occurred to me that your blocks made w 1 1/2” squares and your blocks w 1 1/2” HSTs - instead of adding more blocks to those two how about combining them into a new version and completing a whole quilt rather than two?
I did decide to order the Lori Holt tracking binder and sheets - if it’s pretty I might stay with it. I love row quilts and have YET to make one - this is the year! I ordered quilty book and saw there were 9 free patterns on FQS that go with it. I appreciate all that you shared that served as a kick in my behind! Thanks!!
Great to know! Thanks for watching!
Oh Tammie when you make Winter Village take the time to make the Mini Winter Village at the same time. It’s free, Edyta explains the math on her Winter Village Video. It’s worth the watch just jotting down the math calculations for future projects. I’m also a Longarm Quilter and every January our unfinished projects come out lol. We have high hopes but our quilt tops and quilts go on the back burner sadly but that’s the name of the game. I have 2 long arms but only 2 arms lol
If I were you I would finish up the Wonky Stars from your guild. Use some black and white shark tooth Kaffe Fassett as sashing and borders. Then next, the flannel plaid made into a baby size with cuddle on the back. That grandbaby will be here before you know it and you will be needing both of those!
I love the cuddle for the back! Great idea!
Wow it's seems we like the same things! Edtya Sitar from Laundry basket quilts is doing a birthday sew along it's a block a week for the year. Another quilt to use up scraps. Patterns are on her blog.
