Don't get why people are complaining that this isn't the "old" Slayer. Most metal bands change or evolve the style they play over their careers, and so have Slayer. This is quality music that deserves its full credit
Let's see how good you all would do with one arm missing and getting the kick to the nuts about Jeff and having to finish what they started there is no band as tough as slayer was period fuck all other music
Yeah, I'm using this song for whenever I'm working on my story. It's called The Bounding Bounty. Basically a serial killer who got bored after the Mexican American war, and started killing people.
When Slayer make some different music then fans say: This sucks is not Slayer. When Slayer make some classic Slayer music then fans say:Oh this is the same monotonous music as before, iam bored. WTF people.
It's always good listening to the clinical precision of Slayer in the more up tempo parts of their songs. It must take years of practice and dedication to get to that level.
Kraftonia Terry Date's signature drum sound...sounds like classic Pantera to me. It's about time someone mixed drums that don't sound like wet cardboard boxes.
xXSqurrillyAdamsXx True, but World Painted Blood, Dave's last album with Slayer, was horribly mixed. Obviously not Dave's fault, and it's a great album song-wise, but the drums sounded weak as hell on that album. It's a shame if that ends up being Dave's swansong with the band.
terry bogard The sad part about World Painted Blood is that the songs themselves are pretty awesome, but the SOUND is fucking awful. It could've been one of the better Slayer albums since Seasons, but the weak-ass production really knocks it down a few pegs. I don't understand why big metal bands like Slayer and Metallica suck Fidelman's dick...the guy can't get a decent sound mix for shit.
i do as well. its good to see someone saying something positive about the song instead whining and complaining like a bunch of little girls bout how it sucks, dissapointing, and that slayer died with jeff hennamen
This song and this record are awesome! If you only like one Slayer level then you are stuck with a past that no longer exists. Slayer has grown, Slayer has evolved, whether you like it or not. You are the one who stopped in time. (And sorry for my Brazilian English...)

@Fred Quimby fucking give it a rest man... Paul is a fucking MACHINE and Dave doesn't need to be mentioned every time... Sure, he is amazing but would most people even tell who the drummer is - fuck no...
I love it when SLAYER goes for a heavier approach Part of the reason why Human Disease, Eyes Of The Insane, Bloodline and Wicked are my favourite SLAYER Songs.
I been a hardcore slayer fan since I was like 5 years old. My favorite album has always been seasons in the abyss. Although who can deny reign in blood! I didn't care for anything after God hates us all (had a couple good tracks). But this track despite being slow and simple reminds me of 213 and this proves doesn't need to be fast to be heavy and deliciously evil!!! I'm personally excited based in this song!

Right on the 3:50 mark-the OLD Slayer would have had a solo first from King/then Hannemen (no order, but in the album it would tell you who was who-and okay it can go from King to Gary Holt). I hope the whole album isn't like this.
I've always found that if music takes time to grow on me then it usually ends up more interesting each listen & I'm sure there's enough killer stuff on the upcoming album not everyone is going to like every song.
Okay ive listened to it 3 times now and i like it true its not like old Slayer but this is practically a whole different band and i can see they are really going to miss Jeffs writing abilities. Some one said they should have never made another album without jeff maybe you have a point it could hurt there legacy a little bit and when its all said and done this album will be disregarded by a lot of Slayer fans
For me its probably going to take some time to get used to like Seasons in the Abyss i did not like that album at first but the more i listened to it the more i liked it i agree with you about Sepultura. I have a thought maybe they should have changed the name of the band so there would be no question about disrespecting jeffs legacy and or the Slayer name
If this song and Implode are going to be the best tracks on the new album i'm going to be so fucking bummed. WE WANT SPEED! Sure it's heavy but come on! I wanna here some Reign in Blood tempo!!!
thrashtildeth247 Actually I LIKE when Slayer slows it down a bit and focuses more on an ominous, evil sound. That was Jeff's specialty, whereas Kerry seemed to only focus on writing fast shit. If he writes some more dynamic stuff with different tempos, that's a positive. There's no way Kerry didn't write a fuckload of fast songs for this album.
keefriff99 Evil slowed down intros are one thing...but entire lifeless songs? Sure South of Heaven for example was slowed down, but it was super heavy, dynamic, and still had energy to it. I'm hoping the rest of the album is thrash.
thrashtildeth247 I'm not saying it's a great song, but I do appreciate it when Slayer mix up the tempos more. Kerry in particular has a tendency to write at one tempo (FAST) so if he mixes it up a little more, I'm okay with that. That said, neither Implode nor this song have me super-psyched so far.
thrashtildeth247 At some point, Slayer decided that they weren't thrash anymore. Maybe it's age, I don't know what...but every time I hear new stuff from them, hoping it'll be better, they disappoint. Same way Metallica does. Sadface.
thrashtildeth247 Before releasing their newest "World Painted Blood" the song that they revealed before the release was "Psychopathy Red", which turned out to be the weakest song on the album. They definetly did that with this album too, so the other traks on this are most likely to be much more kickass.
When i hear this song i just wanna stop it and hear some "Blood Red" or "Jesus Saves". Its not that the song is bad, but its far far away from the Slayer I started with. Even WPB was pretty cool, but this ... no ....
the softer vocals are weak the rest is pretty good though. I hope it's an intro song or something to rest the neck somewhere in the middle. Needs more brutality!

Yeah, I'm using this song for whenever I'm working on my story. It's called The Bounding Bounty. Basically a serial killer who got bored after the Mexican American war, and started killing people.
metal isnt all about speed kids! this song is fucking brutal!
but thrash metal is about speed, not that I'm complaining this song is badass
@ rick.. This song is heavy as fuck man!! I love it
+ozidevil666 \m/ \m/
I am sure that even a pop song by slayer would still sound brutal
But (speed) it helps
Slayer Rules. Always has, always will...
Fuck yeah they do! Fuckin' A right!
Always will
sort of reminds me of the "south of heaven" era. slow, heavy, aggressive.
Don't see why people are bitching, this is badass
it is new, people don't like new things :D
+Daniel Stormlord yeah in 20 years they'll love it. Especially if the band dies.
+Pocahontas dude in 20 years the band will definitely be dead
wil but it will be a legend
cause people are idiots, Araya said himself "i reject this fucking race"
Pretty damn good in my opinion. The only thing is that I wish that the killer riff at the end lasted longer hehe
I wish that riff was more in the Middle
metal9023 then It could be the perfect song.
you are completely right
Zadkiel Fontecha Eh... it was boring, much like the rest of their material for the last 14 years
Zadkiel Fontecha Yeah the song was too short... Otherwise pretty good actually
This is like a modern Seasons in the Abyss
the beginning reminds me of 213
It remembers me of South of Heaven a little bit.
De eso trata de mantener la esencia
@CHAD I agree with you.
This is season 2015
Tom's bass tone sounds great here.
words never said before
Lawyer Morty ...hell awaits?
Ive never heard his bass:p
I feel like 80s thrash never gets bad. These guys just keep it up. Kreator, Overkill, Slayer! All their new shit is good! \m/

This is not true. We just want good Slayer songs .. and Kerry can't give them to us. It was always Jeff Hanneman writing the classics. Period
one of my fav song on the new album!

if you like it then it must be good.
rakistang pinoy No need for sarcasm
Slim Jackson
its all good. cheer up :)
rakistang pinoy right on
I have to say that most of the Repentless album is absolutely brutal. There are at least 6-7 songs that are absolute fire
I don't understand the hate...IMHO this is the best song on the album and the most original Slayer song in awhile.

I dig the sound of the drums, sounds killer!

Kraftonia
Terry Date's signature drum sound...sounds like classic Pantera to me. It's about time someone mixed drums that don't sound like wet cardboard boxes.

+Gianluca Sorrentino I think 1.25 is also pretty good. I definitely like this track more than more than the title track.

The song gets really kick ass from 3:30, it looks like an intro song, the song after this on the list will be heavy as fuck as far as i can predict.
