- This film finds Montreal jazzman Al McLean burning up the stage at Diese Onze, one of the longstanding Jazz clubs in the city. Standard fare at Montreal jam sessions, Cedar Walton's "Bolivia" is well known to the crowd, and the band does it justice.
Bassist Simon Page does a fine job on acoustic bass, and drummer Kevin Warren shines in an accompanied drum solo on brushes and sticks. Newcomer Pierre Francois fits into McLean's group seamlessly, and adds an alert and sympathetic thread to the band's offering.
This goes down as one of the coolest sax solos I've ever heard - much respect to Al and the rest of the band!
Lovely. And a beautiful sound recording!!
Al what a beast, so free
This is burning ... amazing musicians and music ! Love the tension being built by drums now and then , and of course supported by the others... badass !

Wonderful. Really nice. Does anybody else think the bass player looks like a young George Lucas?
