- Today I took a trip to the tourist central area of Piccadilly Circus London! On the edge of Soho and in the centre of the City of Westminster, I take us on a little walking tour of Leicester Square, Shaftsbury Avenue the theatre district and also through the amazing China Town- so much good food!

Really interesting to see London come back from the lockdown and seeing it so quiet! Piccadilly Circus and the surrounding roads is one of my favourites for the architecture. Great series thank you!

I love how you show us a map. This really helps orient me so I can better understand where these iconic areas are in relation to each other. I love seeing all the window displays. The baked goods in Chinatown looked yummy. I’m loving this series!

Hello Hanna, I'm watching your old videos of London. As for Piccadilly Circus in the mid 60's to the early 70's when we lived in England the advertisements were not digital because the technology didn't exist, I remember the big Bulova clock with long and short hands as well as its pendulum, the big Coca Cola sign and a lot of people getting drugged on the plaza or roundabout next to the statue. The telephone tower which is now called BT Tower had a restaurant on the top that moved around its axis remember that it is not a box type structure but a cylindrical and on the street level it showed on the windows all the latest developments in telephone stuffs, I remember big and fatty coloured telephones in contrast to the normal black or the more modern bored green ones. "From Soho down to Brighton I must have tried them all..." (From the Rock Opera Tommy) There were lots of strip tease clubs in Soho with pictures of the women performers on the entrance. #Those were the days my friend we thought they'd never end..." (Mary Hopkins’s song)

Thanks for all the vlogs ! My husband and I went to London about 15 years ago and its so cool to see how much things have changed. I would love to come back when travel gets back to normal. Going to Disneyworld in February and have to make due with the Rose and Crown in Epcot until then.Thanks!
Thanks again. Boots has been there for years, Regents street reminds me of my childhood and a particular shop we went to for a treat. Best things about Leicester Square the ticket booth and it's easy to get to China Town.

I love China, Town, especially the Bakery. I used to go to the Empire Ballroom, in Leicester Square, back in the day. Another excellent video : )
Oh I had fish and chips a block back from Piccadilly’s where you were down one of those little side streets! Love London doodette!
If you do go to Covent Garden, check out Brydges Place, possibly the narrowest alley in London with 15 inches being the narrowest point.
When I first went to London and looked into the gift shops I found nothing that original but when I went into the charity shops I found some very lovely and unique things. Unlike thrift shops here in Canada a lot of the stuff was barely used and practically new I was surprised so if you visit the UK check out the charity shops. You will help charities out and you get a unique and a practically new souvenir.

Oh how I miss London. These trips, and your voiceover and presenter is so easy to watch, not annoying like some American one can be. Where M&Ms is there use to be an underground restaurant. A Swiss place. They did amazing meals in front of you. We use to go to the odeon (was there for titanic opening night), there Tower records, remember that place? Downstairs was a tunnel like room with all the records and CDs, and you could hear the tube thru the walls. Now was was that Swiss place called…..mmm.

@@HannahRicketts Movenpick! That was it. They still do ice cream. The restaurant was all kind of open plan. You watch them do their thing and order. But like an underground market. Wonder what they did with that space…..
Hannah - thanks for the info on which camera you use. I was going to ask you, but provided the info as part of your commentary. My wife has a Fuji, but its Auto Focus function while taking videos (just vacation videos versus vlogs) leaves much to be desired. Your Canon adjusts quite nicely, even when you are panning and changing to/from a near and far perspective. I'll pass the info on to her. And keep those London tour videos coming!
This camera isn't amazing in lower light, but I do render with quite high settings to keep the frame rate (Just takes ages and a lot of memory!)
Only reason for leicester sq is the tkts box office. That odeon is just stupid prices for a seat.
Notting Hill interests me as I never wandered over there.
Dear, UK toursim didn't issue tourist visa very tuff restriction, having every documents. I have visited Turkey, Malaysia, dubai & Qatar, but what we can do.

Demonetised!! In Soho these days! I think there's very little of the old sleazy Soho left nowadays, maybe back in the 70's I would have agreed with you. Back then despite its seedy image, it was full of character, and worthy of recording.
I got in trouble with youtube for showing the outside of a dodgy bar not long ago! They are so strict these days
