one note that you may (or may not) find interesting (or may already know) is that starwars was written on the heroes journey, and the person who first created the idea of the heroes journey did so to place his westernised Christian values of the time as inherent, inescapable human nature and to re-enforce compliance with a hierarchical social and economic order. this is actually a really smart comparison. using the jedi (a very culturally relevant organization) to highlight the obvious problems with the JW makes sense. most people understand at least the basics of the jedi order whereas the same cant be said with JWs. vice versa outside of the church its pretty easy to see how the JWs are a problematic cult, but not so much with jedi. if i had a credit for every fanboy ive known whose hot take is uncritically "the jedi are uwu" id have enough money to buy tatooine. So this is a really clever way to deconstruct both organizations for analysis. I know this is made by a sith but you really make a compelling argument for the dark side lol.

Little off topic but what do you prefer the original Expanded Universe or Disney? Personally I prefer the original EU with some exceptions (mainly IG-88's droid rebellion)
Overall I'd say the original EU. It goes a little off the rails after the Swarm War, but Star Wars: Legacy was my favorite comic for a long time. I still enjoy things about current canon though (Rey, Finn and Poe are actually very fun and charming when they're actually allowed to go on an adventure together, the celebration edition of Battlefront II is the redemption story of the year, and Mando has been spectacular.) But overall I'm more attached to the old Legacy continuity.
@@DarthMagog Funny thing about Star Wars Legacy, I have a Sith OC that was based off of a fan idea I had for the Legacy. In my fan idea the story takes place in 210 ABY and the Galaxy has been divided into three separate galactic governments, the Third Republic, Galactica Imperium, and the "Independent Federation" which is really mostly an alliance of systems who don't want to be apart of either or. Well everything remains peaceful until two Sith Lords reactivate some ancient Rakatan technology and attack the Galaxy. The OC in question is Darth Fenrir who is the apprentice to the main baddy Darth Serberos.

I don't think I'm a asshole. However everyone else does. So is it every one else? or do I just have bad luck? I also am aware of what the disfellowship arrangement does to ones mind. Unfortunately I relate to Anakin way more than any character in star wars. I live in pain of my mistakes greatly
So basically you need medication for your mental health and you were punished for attempting to treat it. That's what I see there. The dogma of the religion's rules and restrictions are more important than the intent. They've become the very pharisees that they make fun of. The similarity to the hypocritical Catholic church are palpable. The Watchtower really has become the very evil it sought to destroy.

Old vidya again I know lol, yt suggested it this morning. Anyways tho yeah, I never really was much into SW but also it wasn't something that was in our house either, like it wasn't a "hard" ban the way they banned Pokemon and other anime/books/movies I liked, but they really pretty obviously only did that with me/the things I liked anyways, pft. Like my sister was their Golden Child/involved with JW so they never distrusted anything she wanted to watch and so they didn't give her heck about watching Trek: Next Gen when I probably would have gotten it, and the two older boys got special treatment just bc boy. They watched stuff like Beavis and Butthead/violent and sometimes rated R movies in their room that I knew wasn't supposed to be watched by any of us. Lol yeah Pokemon/HP was more of a problem than that I guess, but SW was also kind of "soft banned" in that if it came on TV my dad would switch it and mutter about it being demonic, I guess just bc there were some guys dressed in black (ugh the kids think that's HIP now DAD). My sister's husband does kinda like SW tho (and also My Little Pony, weird combo but ok...) but apparently was also told by his parents to "tone it down" with it at some point and stop collecting so much SW/MLP merch bc they claimed it was distracting him from god. I'm kinda mildly surprised when I'm reminded sometimes that Jesus being considered the "son of god" is apparently so uncommon/a JW thing, like I know they ramble against others that believe anything otherwise (like eeew Trinity or wtf Mormons even tho wtf back they are almost the game as us guys) IDK I guess I'm just like "What else would Jesus be/why else would god show him favoritism over the other angels" (probably a canon answer in the bible but I try to block as much of that out as I can admittedly XD) but then I suppose that brings forth a whole new set of questions like if Jesus is specifically Jehovah's son why/what makes him different or special, did the J-Man literally have a fling to create him? Oh no of course not we can't have holy Jehovah doing the do with anything less perfect than himself, so what then, did he Mpreg himself? Yeah good thing I didn't think to ask all this tho it just woulda gotten me smacked... XD Pft... Yeah Bethel might CLAIM that only adults are supposed to be there, but it's a lie. They shoe younger ones in if they/parents really want. That girl I mentioned before that came back acting like a Stepford Wife was like 14/15 when they sent her, and she came back around 18/19, the supposed age you have to be to enter! I've never been formally disfellowshipped bc I also was never baptized to begin with, lul. XD Definitely pressured towards it but ever since I was a kid just NO TY I WANNA ACTUALLY BE KID AND JUST HAVE FUN HERE ESP BC SO MUCH OF MY LIFE SUCKS so like I was definitely shunned a lot for being resistant and so obviously different from them but also they probably still salivate at the thought of ever managing to convert me... 9_9 Like I know the whole "shunning" side of JW fams is rightfully highlighted but it's really only one side of the coin, and the other side is obsessive control. They shun you if they can't get to you but if they still have a "chance" in their eyes then they try their damned hardest to control any other options... Caleb and Sofia vidyas: Shows the parent gently nudging child awake, pffft... RL JW Halls: Kicking, pinching, flicking, dragging off to the bathroom for "private" beatings while the rest of the ppl in the hall smirk to themselves as it happens and then outright smirk at the child as they come back... I've never been accused of being an apostate, again probably bc never baptized, but I've definitely had "mentally diseased" and many such variants thrown at me thru my life for not believing/challenging what they try to make me... BC that's just sooo loving and Christian of them, just like they've always been to me, pfffft... Yeah these Jedi guys seem pretty creepy. And they're supposed to be the good guys? XD Lastly, something I just remembered this morning... Did any of you other guys used to have "Goodie Night"/"Dessert Day"? It hasn't been a thing in a while and I'm sure the pandemic knocked it out completely, but when I was a kid they did it one night out of the month. There were two 2 hour meetings on Sunday and Thursday and then on Tuesday there was a shorter 1 hour one at an elder's house. The first Tuesday of the month they would have everyone that came bring a dessert to share. It was the one meeting of the month that didn't completely suck bc at least there was sugar afterwards lol. But then, knowing what I know now, eating a buncha different ppl's foods was probably not helping with the "being sick all the time" thing... XD;;
This is why I've always thought the Jedi were (At very least partially.) evil. Not as overtly bad as the Sith, but not good either. Both the light and dark side of the force should not be separate, if they should exist at all. Because it is clear that the force wants SOMETHING, and that something needs a LOT of violence.
@@DarthMagog Thank you. But it's less living & cosmic force, and more really not liking the force itself. Mainly because I absolutely HATE the idea that I'm not the one in control of my decisions, and I DETEST destiny. These concepts are actually ANATHEMA to who I am. So I looked at both the Jedi, the Sith and most other practitioners, and thought "If I would live in this galaxy as a force user I'd want to try to stop this thing". And then concluded that if the force does have a grip over you, the best thing you could do to lessen it is to be perfectly balanced, as all things should be. Because Jedi completely surrender to the force, and while Sith oppose the will of the force, they never succeed. They always get corrupted by the dark side and become litteral puppets. So the force is kinda like if the will of a god forced the galaxy to fight itself over and over because it got bored when they weren't. I think the Je'daii were the closest to perfection, but if it is impossible to subvert or escape the will of the force, we may need drastic measures. I'm thinking of Darth Traya. That, and the fact that, through experience, I've gotten slightly better than the average person (I wouldn't dare call it good, but I don't think it's average either.) at asking the question: "What is the chance this organisation would accept my mind VS attempted subjugation and eventual extermination. In whatever form that would take." The Jedi scored very badly: No acceptance, and large amounts of torturous subjugation. The Sith.... Are the Sith. Vary wildly, but in most cases it would be: Death, death, death and torturous subjugation resulting in probable death. Very few organisations in Star Wars would allow for somebody like me. Not that I have any differences which negatively impact people. I'm just different, and not always willing to act "NoRmAl". I think my opinion on that is clear by how I wrote the word. Also may I just say that I think it's really impressive: 1: How fast you replied to my comment. The fact you even felt the need to do that for a comment on a video from a year ago speaks volumes. That is some quality engagement if you ask me. Honestly, thank you. 2: The quality of the videos. They are just amazing. I really enjoy the content you're making here, even though I've never encountered a JW before. It's the perfect combination of fun content, good education and a great message. I've only been subscribed for a little while, but I've already watched a lot of your video's. I just really enjoy them. 3: How ABSOLUTELY EPIC your costume is! Personally I think it is legitimately the coolest Sith outfit I've ever seen! If you were a canonical Sith, you'd be my favourite based on looks alone. And trust me when I say it's a hard fought over placement. (By the way, you probably already know, but in your most recent video I couldn’t help noticing that your left thumb has a tear in it. But I think you already know that, I just notice stuff like that very easily.) Lastly, may I ask: Have you ever read the books of Sir Terry Pratchett? And if so, what did you think about it? And what specifically did you like most about the book? Because everytime there exists someone who talks about religion in my presence I feel compelled to recommend his works. Mainly because I absolutely LOVE them and it's the only thing I actually Believe in. And I wonder what your opinion about those books would be. Specifically Small Gods. Book 13 out of 41 in the Discworld series. Which, before you think that, is a lot of books to read. It is a stand-alone story which is set on the Discworld. Making it part of the series. I actually see it as a potential starting point for anyone wanting to read the Discworld series, particularly for those who think about religion a lot. But anyone can technically start anywhere, even technically the first two books. But I would not advise that. Nor did the author. Or any other fans of the series. The first two books are alright. All the others are AMAZING even turning into GODLY books depending on the taste of the reader. So I would REALLY like to know what you think about specifically Small Gods. Because I think that book could possibly be applied to talk about the jehovah's witnesses. Perhaps even better than the Jedi order, but I don't know. The Jedi order is a great comparison and I don't know the watchtower well enough to be able to make any comparison myself. Wow, this became a long comment. Even for my standards. Which are very big standards indeed. Guess I just had a lot to say. If you read 'till here, thank you! That was really a lot to read! And if you didn't, I get it. Any person with a right mind would be quite unlikely to read such a lengthy paragraph. Anyhow, thank you for making such great videos for us, I really enjoy them. I still genuinely want to know what you think of Small Gods and the other Discworld books and writings of Terry Pratchett. And have a great day, week, month, year and rest of your lifetime! B-Bye!

Can't say I blame you, Kingdom Halls are pretty lame. I can see how that ties back together. I remember in a mythology of Star Wars documentary, they mentioned the Father Son dynamic in Roman/Greek Mythology playing hard in the Luke & Vader relationship, so I can see how the Hero's Journey ingrained that even further
I do actually have Encounters with Jehovah Witnesses @ the Library I go to & when they offer there Magazines I am always very polite & say no thank you in hopes that my kindness would cause them to Ask Questions & hopefully they will free there minds& the minds of there Children Magag. 😇

@@DarthMagog I will keep an eye out for premiers to watch then. And I'll share wherever I see a chance. If you go live, I'll surely tune in. Cheesy as it is (and breaking character) you really seem to "get" me. Maybe it's not exactly the same, but we do share experience with dangerous cult thinking and getting out. I’m not surprised that Disney bought Star Wars and fleshed out the Jedi into a toxic cult. Lol. Great comparative analysis… thanks
The JW pizza shown at 26:10 has WHOLE green olives on it. What planet are these people from?
Certainly not Nar Shadda. You get blasted on Nar Shadda for a pizza like that. Or, anything really, but especially a pizza like that
@@DarthMagog When I was young, I had a dream in which I was served "Vulcan nachos". In place of the tortilla chips were bits of shaved caramel. The cheese was watery and cold. The enhancement wasn't slices of jalapeno, but sliced jalapeno gumdrops on top. I woke disgusted.
this is actually a really smart comparison. using the jedi (a very culturally relevant organization) to highlight the obvious problems with the JW makes sense. most people understand at least the basics of the jedi order whereas the same cant be said with JWs. vice versa outside of the church its pretty easy to see how the JWs are a problematic cult, but not so much with jedi. if i had a credit for every fanboy ive known whose hot take is uncritically "the jedi are uwu" id have enough money to buy tatooine.

Ik I'm late, but I thought Mitochondria were just used as measurement tool because they could live in higher quantities in bodies of stronger force users? Not that they themselves caused the ability to use it?
It's a bit of column A, bit of column B. Those with higher concentrations have more sensitivity it seems and can use them as a conduit. Sometimes, maybe, depends on if you like the Legends Continuity, EU Continuity or Disney Canon.

@JWFairytales i wonder if you are a fam here???? hehehehehe love ya dude!!
I am just curious? You know the expression? "It's not everyone else?"
Implying that if everyone has a problem with a person or ideal it's you're fault not everyone else? I am silently marked as a apostate. I asked a elder if I was a apostate he said no. I asked my mother if I'am a apostate she said yeah I guess.
I got disfellowshipped because I need marijuana to stay grounded. (Twice d.f for pot.)
I promise you everyone hates me that I have ever known. I'm alone. I treat
People good.
So true. Wouldn't it be funny if god appointed his faithful and discreet slave as a woman who was disfellowship, and gave no privledges to the 8. That would piss them off.
@@Relex-p7r marijuana isn't a drug it's a medicine.

People like you piss me off. I never said I do any other drugs. Marijuana is actually called cannabis. It has been demonized from the government. Medical cannabis is a thing . Hello?

The more I look at the Jedi I realize they really are insane. The Makai knights of the GARO series are cooler with the wolf themed armor even the armor of the both the titular golden knight GARO and the dark knights like KIBA, BOLG, and VEIL
I'm a big fan of the alternate sects of the Jedi, like the Green Jedi from Corellia. Also, Luke's New Jedi Order in the Legends continuity was metal AF.
@@DarthMagog Those sects are way more cooler then the Jedi order.
Old vidya again I know lol, yt suggested it this morning. Anyways tho yeah, I never really was much into SW but also it wasn't something that was in our house either, like it wasn't a "hard" ban the way they banned Pokemon and other anime/books/movies I liked, but they really pretty obviously only did that with me/the things I liked anyways, pft. Like my sister was their Golden Child/involved with JW so they never distrusted anything she wanted to watch and so they didn't give her heck about watching Trek: Next Gen when I probably would have gotten it, and the two older boys got special treatment just bc boy. They watched stuff like Beavis and Butthead/violent and sometimes rated R movies in their room that I knew wasn't supposed to be watched by any of us. Lol yeah Pokemon/HP was more of a problem than that I guess, but SW was also kind of "soft banned" in that if it came on TV my dad would switch it and mutter about it being demonic, I guess just bc there were some guys dressed in black (ugh the kids think that's HIP now DAD). My sister's husband does kinda like SW tho (and also My Little Pony, weird combo but ok...) but apparently was also told by his parents to "tone it down" with it at some point and stop collecting so much SW/MLP merch bc they claimed it was distracting him from god.
I'm kinda mildly surprised when I'm reminded sometimes that Jesus being considered the "son of god" is apparently so uncommon/a JW thing, like I know they ramble against others that believe anything otherwise (like eeew Trinity or wtf Mormons even tho wtf back they are almost the game as us guys) IDK I guess I'm just like "What else would Jesus be/why else would god show him favoritism over the other angels" (probably a canon answer in the bible but I try to block as much of that out as I can admittedly XD) but then I suppose that brings forth a whole new set of questions like if Jesus is specifically Jehovah's son why/what makes him different or special, did the J-Man literally have a fling to create him? Oh no of course not we can't have holy Jehovah doing the do with anything less perfect than himself, so what then, did he Mpreg himself? Yeah good thing I didn't think to ask all this tho it just woulda gotten me smacked... XD
Pft... Yeah Bethel might CLAIM that only adults are supposed to be there, but it's a lie. They shoe younger ones in if they/parents really want. That girl I mentioned before that came back acting like a Stepford Wife was like 14/15 when they sent her, and she came back around 18/19, the supposed age you have to be to enter!
I've never been formally disfellowshipped bc I also was never baptized to begin with, lul. XD Definitely pressured towards it but ever since I was a kid just NO TY I WANNA ACTUALLY BE KID AND JUST HAVE FUN HERE ESP BC SO MUCH OF MY LIFE SUCKS so like I was definitely shunned a lot for being resistant and so obviously different from them but also they probably still salivate at the thought of ever managing to convert me... 9_9 Like I know the whole "shunning" side of JW fams is rightfully highlighted but it's really only one side of the coin, and the other side is obsessive control. They shun you if they can't get to you but if they still have a "chance" in their eyes then they try their damned hardest to control any other options...
Caleb and Sofia vidyas: Shows the parent gently nudging child awake, pffft...
RL JW Halls: Kicking, pinching, flicking, dragging off to the bathroom for "private" beatings while the rest of the ppl in the hall smirk to themselves as it happens and then outright smirk at the child as they come back...
I've never been accused of being an apostate, again probably bc never baptized, but I've definitely had "mentally diseased" and many such variants thrown at me thru my life for not believing/challenging what they try to make me... BC that's just sooo loving and Christian of them, just like they've always been to me, pfffft...
Yeah these Jedi guys seem pretty creepy. And they're supposed to be the good guys? XD
Lastly, something I just remembered this morning... Did any of you other guys used to have "Goodie Night"/"Dessert Day"? It hasn't been a thing in a while and I'm sure the pandemic knocked it out completely, but when I was a kid they did it one night out of the month. There were two 2 hour meetings on Sunday and Thursday and then on Tuesday there was a shorter 1 hour one at an elder's house. The first Tuesday of the month they would have everyone that came bring a dessert to share. It was the one meeting of the month that didn't completely suck bc at least there was sugar afterwards lol. But then, knowing what I know now, eating a buncha different ppl's foods was probably not helping with the "being sick all the time" thing... XD;;
More of a living & cosmic force sort of guy eh? I can respect that
@@DarthMagog Thank you.
In whatever form that would take."
The Jedi scored very badly: No acceptance, and large amounts of torturous subjugation.
Also may I just say that I think it's really impressive:
1: How fast you replied to my comment.
But I think you already know that, I just notice stuff like that very easily.)
Lastly, may I ask: Have you ever read the books of Sir Terry Pratchett?
B-Bye!
That's why Luke's order from Legends is easily the best
When I was young, I thought the Jedi were cool because they always faced off against the bad guys. The older I got, the more I realized just how fucked up the Jedi really are!
This is the best Sith propaganda ever. Now i dont like Jedi at all. Thank you Lord Magog for setting me straight.
