They picked the right man for the job definitely! You had some very hard shoes to fill, and we all think that you did Slayer justice brother!!! Thank you for all that you've done. Us the fans definitely appreciate it! 👍😎
+branden rumsey No way, as much as I respect him, Dave is the definitive Slayer drummer. Paul is too mechanical unlike David, he has more groove, power and feeling.
Tommy Mann Shit, thank you, I am from the central coast......and a metal drummer lol. Thanks for the compliment man, really appreciate it. 🤘🏻💀🤘🏻. I do have a shit memory though and haven’t lived in Pismo for 20+ years........we know each other I’m assuming right?
Casey Plooy Hey dude, sorry for the delayed reply. This was I think 1996, I was / am a hack guitar player. I met a player that you were in a band with, he brought me over to a house that your large kit was set up at and I watched you play for a little while. I was like OMG, I’m in way over my head, this guy fucking rulez!! Anyway, shamefully I never saw you again. Just went on with life in a completely different direction. Wishing you well man, great to see you on here, happy we are digging our same favorite player. And fuck yeah, Paul Bostaph rulez!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
"I can take your lost soul from the grave. Jesus knows your soul cannot be saved" :D classic! Great to see Paul Bostaph's interpretation of this Dave Lombardo masterpiece from the early 1980s
I agree i think dave is awesome but paul ur sound and style only drummers can hear is amazing..can u post a go pro of anti christ and angel of death please
Bostaph's an amazing drummer. Is he as good as Dave Lombardo? Almost. Dave kicks the fuck out of his double bass. No matter how fast or tricky, his kicks were always like cannons going off but with a fluidity most drummers would kill for. Dave also uses a bigger kit with alot more (and alot bigger) drums and uses all of them flawlessly.
@@cosmos_ufrn I get it the dudes a beast. Has been for a long long time. It's kind of like thunder and lightning. And anybody who knows anything about them knows which ones which.
@@richardnoggin697 thanks for your answer @richardnoggin . I am a great brazilian fan of slayer. In my opinion, when Lombardo Plays songs from divine Intervation, diabolus or god hates all, he does not play perfectly (example: dittohead or payback). By the other hand , Bostaph plays pratically in the sabe way other songs with Lombardo as drummer.
@@cosmos_ufrn Dave Lombardo when he plays metal just doesn't sound like anyone else. From the way he holds the sticks to the way he uses his pedals to the height of his seat. Everything is different than anybody else. He actually plays below his drum kit Paul sits over the top and it's a tighter feel to his playing. Also paulbo's staff was brought into Slayer because he could play Dave's songs like Dave and still play with his own feel on new albums and still be Slayera. By the way I'm curious, are you watching Charles olivera today?
+Steven Lornie Well I did. You said he's limited to playing Slayer songs, while he isn't - precisely because he's not a slave and can do whatever he wants to. Don't know where you get this "limited" thing from. He's only limited by his own skill, otherwise he's a free man.
Stelcio No, you're simply trying to twist my words. There is no real openess in playing thrash metal on drums. Its the same beats and fill over and over and over no matter what band you're in. It is extremely limiting whether you want to try get round it or not.
It can't be the high hat cause he was using the double bass and he wasn't hitting it. It was probably the camera's recording. All those sounds may be taking a toll on the audio quality.
Man, something about Paiste cymbals...I've never liked 'em. They sound so sterile and never sound like they "fit" in a mix. Otherwise, fantastic playing!
Michael J. Carrasquillo Meinl makes some wicked cymbals! Sabian probably has the most innovative cymbals out there. Never liked Zildjian really. Paiste just does it for me. I just hear them and go "that's the sound that i want." For me it's 1.Paiste 2.Sabian 3.Meinl 4.Zildjian
More than a great drummer, Paul Bostaph is a great musician...
They picked the right man for the job definitely! You had some very hard shoes to fill, and we all think that you did Slayer justice brother!!! Thank you for all that you've done. Us the fans definitely appreciate it! 👍😎
great drummer....its a pleasur to see one man plays drums very well.
Paul, i was here. You're one of the best drummers
best drummer slayer has had! paul you dont get enough credit your perfect for slayer!!
+branden rumsey No way, as much as I respect him, Dave is the definitive Slayer drummer. Paul is too mechanical unlike David, he has more groove, power and feeling.
+localescariaco
one word: divine intervention = best album
+Uwe Schütz With him for sure, with the band no way.
+branden rumsey stop comparing them all the time...both are awesome drummers each one with his style.
***** What I am sure is Paul cannot play Necrophobic.
Damn, and I thought I hit hard. BOSTAPH RULES 🤘🏻🤘🏻
If you’re from the central coast, you do hit hard, you’re bad ass too brutha!!

@@richardnoggin697 no, I do not like MMA. I live in Natal city, Brazil, we have several beatiful beaches and I love surfing...
Great drummer, shame he is limited to playing Slayer songs. Thrash metal drumming can be so limited.
+Steven Lornie He's no slave, you know, he's in Slayer by choice. And looks like he's having a good time.
Stelcio who said anything about slavery?
+Steven Lornie Well I did. You said he's limited to playing Slayer songs, while he isn't - precisely because he's not a slave and can do whatever he wants to. Don't know where you get this "limited" thing from. He's only limited by his own skill, otherwise he's a free man.

Bring on leeds on the 28th Nov.
At the 0:33 mark you can hear cymbal tapping but I do not see him tapping a cymbal. Is he getting that sound from the hi-hat?
That's probably coming from the bass drums
It can't be the high hat cause he was using the double bass and he wasn't hitting it. It was probably the camera's recording. All those sounds may be taking a toll on the audio quality.
It's the snare.
It’s the click of the bass drums dumb ass
I thought everyone would've known its the bassdrums

+Michael J. Carrasquillo Cool too see different opinions. I love their sound. What brand do you prefer?
+Moshy I'm really liking Meinl lately. I've always been a Zildjian (or Sabian in a pinch) player...

For me it's

The drumkit sound is shit, but he's a good drummer too..
It could have just been the recording equipment used.
BEAST
fuck yeahh!!
drums sound great, just not digging the cymbals sound . beast on the kit!
I want to listen the new divine intervesion soon!!
