  • Hoverboard to OFF-ROAD 4X4 SEGABOT#4 - ( DIY Mechanics )
    In this video I present my approach to make an electric off road rover 4x4 starting from two old hoverboards. I chose to use aluminum because is easier to approach for processing with the tools I have and in addition the whole set will weigh less than 22Kg at its maximal dimension 57 cm x 66 cm and 55 cm high. In this video is presented the realization of the platform from a mechanical point of view, and I will return with the electronics and software part. I want to use this platform as a basis for building an all-terrain robot that I named SEGABOT. I mention that it is a project that I work on in my free time as a hobby.       I'm glad for the appreciation. And your car is very interesting. I was thinking of making a similar car, but I find the mechanical part quite complicated. I thinking that a photovoltaic panel on top can charge the batery and provide shadow for driver. I wish you all the best. PS: I use google translate.

    Hey I had a question on how exactly you were able to program the motors and link everything up. I plan on doing the same slightly differently. Was just wondering how you programmed the motors, was there some hoverboard library you used?

      in theory . if the controllers share a battery and have common ground the esc should be able to control both .

    Aproximativ, cat te-au dus cauciucurile cu tot cu camere, sau daca ai gasit si cauciucuri mai inalte putin, astfel incat sa se potriveasca cu roata de hoverboard. M-asi gandi sa-mi fac o remorcuta solida dupa bicicleta, dar cred ca aceste roti sunt totusi mici. Vreau sa reutilizez rotile de hoverboard.

    How do the two motherboards interact and synchronize? Front and rear wheels

      The two controller boards receive the same UART information from an ESP 32 controller. On the ESP 32 side I have tow separate ports for communication , one for each board and a third one for monitoring on the PC.

      I use 4.10 / 3.50 - 5 tires - normally used for agricultural machinery.

      Salut! Am folosit doua placute LOLIN32 cu ESP-WROM-32 ( controller ESP32) care schimba mesaje pe WIFI. CU o placuta am construit o telecomanda si cea dea doua, de pe rover, primeste comenzile si le trimete mai departe pe RS232 catre controlerele de hoverboard.Controlerele de hoverboard sunt flashuite cu softwerul de pe git hub prezentat in filmuletul ua-cam.com/video/VGFn5jXRnlM/v-deo.html . Pentru radiocomanda facuta de mine nu am o scheme si nici cu ghit hubul nu prea ma pricep :) . Din cate am observat, codul de pe ghit hub folosit pentru controlerul de hoverboard, suporta si configurare pentru radiocomenzi care exista pe piata cum ar fi TURNIGY.

      There's a company that builds some called trigoscoot, really awesome ones but for some reason there's no way to purchase them online. Something weird they should be everywhere and the Chinese should have already replicated them.. go figure

      Yes, but it will be much more expensive, the howerboard hardware already have almost everything you need
