You had my rapt attention here, very interesting stuff and much that I didnt know. It's important for Jews to be informed of history so we can counter arguments. However I don't understand what Dr. Einat Wilf is saying at the17:12 mark. She claims King Abdullah was assassinated because he wanted to make peace with Israel. This makes no sense, and has to be incorrect, because King Abdullah was assasintated in 1951. It was his successor, King Hussein, who finally made peace with Israel in 1994, and decades before that, but 16 years after the assassination of his grandfather, Jordan waged war on Israel. It wasn't before Sadat set the precedent of an Arab country making peace with Israel that Jordan even remotely considered doing the same. That little snippet of misinformation about Abdullah wanting to make peace with Israel doesn't really matter in the scheme of her argument, but could tarnish the credibility of the argument as a whole in the opinions of some.
Throughout the 20th century history of the Arab nations that emerged from WWI, every state has faced a tension between the people and the leadership. The leadership often understood the need to make peace to improve the conditions of their people. However, the culture of the people resulted in events that have shown that ideology is more important than prosperity. In this case, King Abdullah was killed by a Palestinian in order to prevent peace talks with Israel. In fact, Wikipedia states: "Abdullah's assassination was said to have influenced Hussein not to enter peace talks with Israel in the aftermath of the Six-Day War in order to avoid a similar fate." So it appears that historians accept that it had the intended effect of delaying peace between Jordan and Israel - a tactic that we clearly see still continuing today! As we know, derailing the Abraham Accords was one of the strategic goals of Oct 7.
Jews claim on the land is over 3000 years old while Palestinians claim of 75 years some which are still alive and possess documents and keys to their homes and properties should be dismissed? What kind of warped up reasoning this?
This is an important conversation that sums up, well, the key issues that have kept the Arab war against Israel going since 1948. Recommended.
is it true that the good roads that israelis built are off limits to arab plasinian people?
