after yesterday's pro-democracy demonstration, where we met a few religious zionist types who came to counter the demo (the cops kept us apart during, but we walked over after), I really appreciate this... we wanted to talk to them in good faith but they rejected the possibility ('learn a page of gemach w/ me and after that I'll talk to you' (and worse)). I did notice that aside from horrible manners, they were very materialist. we did try. I understand a bit better now why we failed. as a teacher, I also want to point out (from observation of haredi MA program students) that their schools are abject (I assume, aside from limudei kodesh). wh/ makes me wonder - when they take over the country, wh/ I think is inevitable, how will they manage the secular aspects of running a country?? thanks for an extremely interesting talk!
Pleased to have a chance to watch this as I missed the live webinar last Thursday.
