Took you two years break from a lifelong Motocross habit. Even sold my gear, told myself I was done….getting a Stark Varg delivered on Sunday….already having boxes arrive with new gear. Oh my gosh, here we go again. Lol
Crazy that you run the bike at 100% regen. I've never heard of anyone racing with regen much above 60. I cameoff an SX150 two stroke and run regen at 35.
How about a day of just out trail riding maybe with Jay Clark he’s got some rides they go on that would represent the various kinds of terrain that a lot of us ride on and having a bike that doesn’t stall out or need to slip the clutch would be a good test and take advantage of some of the features that make a Electric Bike sound good for this type of riding. ❤🙏🇺🇸
If you ride 2-hour + practice day will it make it on a single charge? With no “clutch” how do you essentially shut off the motor if you accidentally grab a hand full of throttle? How long does a rear tire last compared to a 450? What isStark’s recommendation with the battery once it has completely deteriorated? As in just take it to your local recycle? And how much is the replacement? What is the battery consumption in dry/heat vs sloppy wet/mud?
I’ll answer ask best I can. 1. I’ve left the track with a dead battery and been totally satisfied. But…remember I am slow and old. Fast guys use more power. 2. Let go of the throttle momentarily and it snaps shut. Just like a gas bike. Haha! 3. In my experience, about the same. The stock Pirelli shed knobs pretty quickly though. 4. No idea. 5. I noticed a little increase in consumption when it was 100+ in SoCal this summer but can’t comment on the cold. It never gets cold here.
Yes, I debated between the wing seat and the pegs. Some Stegpegz reviews mentioned the fact that it can be tough to get your boot behind the rubber disk and your boots can get stuck. I already have the wing seat on my ktm350 and love it, now I’ll get to try it on the Varg soon.
Had my Stark since last October. The updates have been great and for sure theres more mileage in the battery than when I first bought it, but I'm losing around 50/60% in 12 min + 2 lap races. I take a big jenny with me & charge it so its no worries but if I didnt have a jenny there would be no chance.
So two 6 lap motos and 4 laps of practice, a total of 16 laps, but you had a reasonable amount of battery left over, I suppose with a 220v charging system you could play ride most of the day at a practice track, which is what I primarily do with my yz250f. Great riding, great video. Seems like these are coming on like the 4 stroke bikes did back in the day. even the Altis Sigma looks cool, but not for a real mx track. I still think I stick with my GAS bike for now though.

I havent been motivated to ride for several years now. Sold all my bikes even. Watching the Varg makes me want to ride again.

I like just about anything two wheeled. Cool watching your ride Donn.
Great job and very informative
Great video and content!
They are getting there.
Been seeing them in a lot of off road stuff also
Well done Donny 👍✌️

Lookin like shimoda in some of those shots! Dropping that throttle elbow getting all the voltage ⚡

As an off road guy, I've often wondered how they would hold up.

I noticed you got rid of the StegPegz, changed your mind? I went with the Guts wing seat instead of the StegPegz.
Filmed this before I had em!

Most of the events in Wisconsin are AMA so I can't race anymore because I bought the Varg.
Ama is a joke.
Where do you ride in Wisconsin. I’d like to ride with you and pick your brain on the stark

Fake news. The AMA just authorized the first E open class in KS this past weekend so you should see changes.

NO, IT CAN NOT. MUST BE CHARGED AFTER EVERY HEAT!
