Can You Force This Checkmate?

Normally, the king + queen checkmating pattern requires you to corner your opponent's king. But in Circular Chess, you don't (always) have corners. So is this checkmate still possible?

Small correction: You can actually keep your king on the 3rd rank from the edge (so the 3rd or 6th rank) for the duration of the checkmate pattern. The squares that you aren't covering when doing so are de-facto blocked, since the king can't move to them without getting checkmated.

Now the real question is how to do a rook and king checkmate

Impossible, it's draw by lack of material, except if the king is already stuck in the start ranks

So it is a forced draw if there's not atleast queen advantage but enemy makes every trade
