I can honestly say that this is the first time I have seen an almost complete run of a Marvel title! Wow!!! Great video!!!!
At 10:02 Giant Size Fantastic Four #4 1975 first appearance of Jamie Madrox as the Multiple Man. Happy to have a raw copy of that issue in my personal collection.
Also make sure in G.S. F.F. #4 the Incredible Hulk Marvel Value Stamp is in there untouched and not cut out for the comicbook to be completed.
At 12:45 Fantastic Four #74 first appearance of a robot named the Punisher before the moniker name was given to Frank Castle as the Punisher in ASM #129 1974.
At 13:13 Fantastic Four #64 the Thing holding up a huge machinery, the machinery can be seen in Thor Ragnarok behind Loki during the Thor and Hulk battle in the arena.

That was a solid 19 minutes of Fantastic Four Silver age goodness! Many very good looking books there. For a collection bought sight unseen and the price paid, you scored Gary. Now of course, you'll invest by getting many of these cleaned, pressed and slabbed but the return on this rather large group of amazing books might be beyond double, IMO. Thanks for posting such a great group of books. Best to all.
Fantastic collection! (Sorry. Couldn't help myself.) This is my bread & butter, all this stuff. I only go back to #20, but still…a lifetime to collect (thus far). Congrats!
That was Fantastic (sorry 🙄) to watch. I'm a big Fantastic Four collector. My run doesn't start until #51, but is 3 long boxes after that.
I'm also obsessed with #244. 6 copies so far, including the one I bought off the shelf in 1982. I just can't find a raw copy with no spine tics! Wish I could come to buy a few off you, but being in the UK makes it kind of expensive.

100% on organizing a box according to how humans count, though for this video, starting from the end of the run worked well with the reveal at the end. Looked a lot like my run of FF going back to around 150 back when I had a raw collection. This seller had a really great FF collection with what looks like a lot of them being in nice condition. He literally had all the keys minus those few huge ones.

I usually start at 1 in my collection and go back, but for this reveal, starting at the end and going in opposite direction was brilliant on sellers part.

We count down top 10s or top 100s; working our way toward the thing we value the most - #1. Since older comics are more valuable/interesting than newer comics, it makes sense that in flipping through you go from the least interesting to the most. 'How we count' seems an odd way to frame it since your motivation isn't getting an exact tally (or using the comics as a refresher on how to count). When you go through the box aren't you sifting for treasure? Aren't the comics closer to #1 likely to be of more interest than the comics at #500?

FF 166-171 run is what got me hooked on comics as a kid. Nice run!
Great video! I thought you did well, but a lot of the early ones looked trimmed. They looked narrow in the those bags (and some of those narrow looking ones had some perfect looking right sides to them). Definitely measure them before putting out there for sale. I started to notice around issue 25ish, but 16, 11, 10 etc. Not trying to put out anything negative but that's just what it looked like from here.

I found the first appearance of black panther on the curb few months ago. Sold it on eBay in 10 days. Made about 11 hundred on the collection so far.
All these shows like terrificon and king con even the local shows all seem great not much like that in Australia where I live but I’ll be visiting my partners family at the end of the year so if you had any recommendations for shows, events,stores or anything really in the general tri state/Philly area that would be great, big fan of the channel nice to see it have grown from the brown couch days keep up the hard work 👍

One of your higher cost pickups but with FF on the horizon definitely one you should more than double the price. Silver age books alone should recoup your investment, even ungraded. Nice score Gary!

depends condition of the FF#48, it could be a 9k book by itself.

My FF collection is a LOT like this one barring different grades and stuff. I once had a chance to get FF #1, 1987 or so, for $100.00 (not sure of the grade but probably a 3.0) but as a teen I simply wanted to take my money and get more books instead. I should have snagged it and gotten a 2nd job instead.

Finally I guessed the amount right! (Lately on your last few I felt you were greatly overpaying). At 9k that is a solid price for you and from the looks of a number of those, grading will maximize the return especially some of those earlier issues which look to be in the 6.0 to maybe even 7.0 range on a few
My LCS has their back issues "counting backwards." Always irritated me too. 🙂

I have seen one store that had their books just like this. I believe it was in northern Indiana. It was around 5-6 years ago so I can't remember the name. If it wasn't Indiana it was north west Ohio.

Do you know why that one book was missing the title?
When books were on the stand originally(or wherever they were sold) the owner of the stand could cut that portion of the book off if it didn't sell and send back to the distributor for some form of credit.

I'm with you! I always prefer the books to be slabbed. It takes the guesswork out of it, both as a seller and a buyer. I might say a raw book is Very Fine, someone else might say it's only Fine. A 3rd party grading company says it's VF-, so it's VF-.
I prefer raw but like you said, grading is all over the place so if I’m buying a key, it’s just safer with a slab.
One prices comics, one does not "price out" comics - the preposition 'out' is unnecessary and in fact obscures the meaning.
Disagree on the counting. When collecting currently, 1 goes in the box first and goes in the back. Then 2 and so on.
