If the UA-cam revenue can outpace the deprecation on each vehicle purchased in the time it takes to make some video content then I suppose you can make a living like this if you are methodical. I’m sure it’s more complicated and taxes/expenses of one sort or another will take their chunk depending on how you’ve set yourself up as a business. It’s the UA-cam game for sure and most of the big AutoTubers have resources in the background which gave them their start which typically doesn’t get discussed. At the end of the day at least some of the content is interesting to watch so more power to them.
Literally every car salesman at every dealership says is going to tell you that there is a "Ton of interest" and that the sale needs to take place immediately. It doesn't matter if it's a Porsche 911 or a 1985 Dodge Aries K.
You are correct but that doesn’t mean you’re being lied to every time. I just spoke to a salesman about the 2025 Yukon and 2025 Tahoe and he told me they spend one day on the lot maximum. He had no reason to lie to me because I told him I wasn’t buying for a number of months.
Congrats on what appears to be a solid purchase, Ben--I have a 2006 Toyota Sequoia 4WD LTD, bought it in 2013 with 79,000 miles on and just turned 244,000. There have been some repairs along the way, so it has not been inexpensive to own but it has been worth it to own, if that makes sense. Solidly built, tranny shifts as smooth now as when I first got it, and it is rare that I hear a squeak or rattle, so the older Sequoias are solidly built. Good luck with it, and I hope your wife loves it--should be all the room she needs, safe and reliable, and what more could you want for your family?!
I was born in Dallas, Texas along with my older brother. We lived in Carrollton, then moved to The Woodlands, Texas where my younger brother was born. We moved to New Jersey in 2003 from The Woodlands, Texas. My mom drove her 2000 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer Edition from Texas all the way to New Jersey with my two brothers. I was in a different car for a camp that I went to. Also, when we lived in The Woodlands, Galveston was around like a full on day trip. I miss Texas.
@KillSwitch80 yeah I know I heard that it's completely different now. I still remember my old address in the Woodlands I've seen the inside of the house I grew up in in the Woodlands still looks the same from the inside and still has the same wallpaper that we had when I was growing up in the house which is crazy. I grew up in 62 Spotted Deer Drive in Woodlands Texas. I remember I would ride my bike to school .
Great buy Ben! I'm a few hours away from that dealership and I would have loved to meet you at the dealership to shake your hand and wish you for the new year. You're spot on about Dallas and it's because a ton of people from California, New York, New Jersey etc. have moved to Dallas in the past 15 years. It's also made Dallas a lot more expensive than it used to be
Yeah if it had I'd likely be driving it. Instead I stuck with my 2005 hoping that the next generation would be worth it but opted out of that because of the poor battery placement.
Ben We have one of those. It has 220,000 miles. The real problems start at around 150,000 miles. Did not have any real problems before that. If you keep it garaged you should not have any problems with only 30,000 miles on it. Im assuming you will keep it for a few months 😂😂😂 so you should be ok.
Congrats! I bought a 2012 back in May and aside from the alternator going out at 175k miles, it’s been bulletproof. Biggest complaint i have is gas stations know me by first name 😂
I did a road trip 2 years ago in a V8 Sequoia from New Orleans to Dallas and back.. I was so comfy and fell in love with the big Sequoia. Was just looking at the new ones but id have to fork out 85k to get what I like.
Nice I’m glad for once you didn’t buy a new car or a used one like more people are doing great job. Congratulations. Did you get it inspected by a third-party before you bought it good luck with it. Have a happy new year to you and your wife and family. Keep up the great work. I love your channel.
I'm happy for you Ben. Hope your wife likes it also! I seriously considered the 2nd gen Sequoia. However the 200 series Land Cruiser beat it out because of its smaller size, still 8 passengers, more luxury, better built quality, more aftermarket support, and we prefer the looks. Our youngest child is 9 so we are done with carseats and pack-n-plays. Obviously, you gave the Land Cruiser a fair chance and the Sequoia seems better for your family.
When I flew from Utah to San Francisco they didn’t require a deposit either. They just wanted a screen shot of the plane ticket and held the car for me. I prefer that tbh since it shows I’m serious and I also don’t have to give $1000+ right out the bat.
Nice rig! I like it! V8 power and reliability! My buddy has a 2013 Tundra with that 5.7, almost 300,000 km's on it and still going strong. Not gonna lie though, when I seen the title for this, I thought to myself..."Oh here we go, a lame minivan or lame tt 4 cyl." lol :)
