Finally, a 2024 trends video that actually concretely articulates what the trends are (wallpaper, bold colors etc). Not just “nature” and “practical spaces” like some other videos lol
Color drenched my living/dining room in Urbane Bronze to include the vaulted ceilings and it is GORGEOUS. I don't know why I was ever scared of doing it. It's such a statement!
Depends on personal taste...I'm glad your happy with your space...definitely not for me I like soft calming spaces with neutrals...like the Japanese zen style...timeless and awsome feng shui to it.
Thanks for this video! I think your interior design videos are my absolute favorite amongst the rest. They feel well-edited with the breaks between topics and are peaceful to listen to and positive. Also side note, love your purple look today. Thank you 💕
I’ve been doing colour drenching for years, when everyone thought it was odd, yet they thought it looked great once they saw it “in the flesh”. It’s super cosy. I’ve got a colour drenched black (yes, black) room, a green room and one that’s basically exactly the colour of your baseball cap! 🤗you have excellent taste! 😉
I painted the exterior of my small bungalow and did it using color drenching, I knew it would look great and love it. Painted the entire house with a 3” paint brush . Exterior natural light can make it look different colors when it’s not, each hour of the day.
@@pamhuber6661same here, all off-white I used a trim paint pad and paint brush, for at the time I was 6 month pregnant and doctor said no paint rolling! Lol
I bought a 1968 modest brick ranch home. The previous owner had lived in the home since 1971. What I found most striking is the "color drenching" she had throughout the home. She did eggshell walls and satin trim in the same color (different color in each room). It struck me because that's what a small house needs. It needs less contrast. It works! It opens up the spaces. Her colors in the bedrooms are more muted shades: seafoam green, muted robins egg blue, and muted cameo pink (each bedroom a different color). The livingroom has a light golden 'greige' color, and once again the walls are in eggshell and the trim in satin. The eggshell reflects natural light in a soft way. I have gotten so many compliments on the colors of the bedrooms that I wanted to paint fresh in the same colors, but sadly what gives the colors such rich tone is the fact that the paint is old! Clean and intact, but old. My local SW paint shop could not obtain a tint mix to replicate them. I'm very picky about painting (no blobs, etc.). Sadly this is the case in some of the trim. Some of the drywall could be smoothed out, etc. I'll have a very tough time arriving at the colors that work so well here.
🙋🏻♀️Im one of those people that’s been requesting purple. 💟 Purple is my lifestyle and not just a favorite color. My wedding gown and veil was lilac and the whole shebang of my wedding day is coordinated with purple shades 💁🏻♀️. I have the purple mattress, even my salt is purple (I know, it’s ridiculous and it brings me sooo much peace and joy). I’m happy to hear that I’m not the only one asking for it! I also noticed that in the past 5 years a lot of companies and businesses have been leaning towards purple as their business color. I mean look at you rocking the purple combo with your hat and blouse- work it!! and also this video is outlined in purple background so you’re absolutely right purple is out there everywhere 😍💜
I did a very similar color! also color drenched. I changed out the coverlet and curtains to natural linen -rather a beige linen, and that looks beautiful with this dark smoky green.
Ooh I love it! I've been looking for the perfect green for my son's room. I've been considering Holiday Wreath or Boreal Forest, but I think I might like this one even better.
Hooray! A new Posh video! You can see color drenching in the 1953 movie "The Band Wagon" with Fred Astaire and Cyd Charisse. When the talent goes to the producers apartment to meet a show's financial backers, his apartment is color drenched in brick, blues, beiges.
Mouldings are truly "timeless" because they've been a part of our culture for at least 2,500 years. They will never go out of style, assuming they're actually done correctly. And you can tell when they're done correctly! The stuff that will be torn out will be the cheap stuff installed by people who don't know what they're doing.
I dont think molding could be a trend! Maybe the style of the molding but in general moldings has been used for hundreds of years. I think the biggest factor to determine if it is a trend vs timeless is if it has existed for centuries. If it has it is timeless if done right
Personally, I found the predictions in this video to be a real eye-opener. The emphasis on personalization and unique design elements has sparked my creativity, and I'm already thinking of ways to incorporate these trends into my home for a more modern and personalized touch.
Daring colour is great in fabric. Your outfit looks gorgeous. Fabric is also commonly used on bedcovers, curtains, floor rugs, bath towels, and a variety of other homewares. These items all have the benefit that just like your clothes, when you're not in the mood for that particular daring colour, someone's got a migraine and the strong colour is making them retch, or you feel it's getting a bit dated, you can put the item away neatly in a closet, and use fabric in a different colour instead. All it takes is a few minutes to change it out, instead of the expense and disruption of repainting your room. I highly recommend it.
Watching this video was like getting a sneak peek into the future of home decor! The video highlighted upcoming trends in a way that got me really excited about redesigning my home. I can't wait to try out some of these fresh ideas!
I love your content . I don't like the new trends with so much color, although, I do like whole room monochromatic color. The "Rich PPL Trends" part of this post is my favorite. Hilarious! 😂
Thanks for your perspective. It's nice to see the Mid-century minimalism getting traded in for more art deco and arts-and-crafts styles. Been hoping for a lean towards more traditional antique elements with color pops.
Didnt like most of what was shown in this except the all mint small room..the cosy image..the plants..and i do love a big fancy stove and range...but to actualy use it and look good...only likded 2 of the new colours....thank you for showing us whats out there no matter our personal taste.
*Color Drenching, Dopamine Decor, Velvet and Luxe Fabrics* . Whatever the Generation is called that's wants the 70's vibe, I will leave all of those pieces at the Re-Store and thrift shops for you. I love the color drenching and will be doing that in my bedroom.
Molding and arches are not trends in my opinion. They are architectural features that have spanned decades. For example, you see them in homes that are 100 years old through homes that are modern. They are just very popular right now. I personally do not understand the paint companies picking those colors for the colors of the year. They are not very nice in my opinion. I do like most of the looks you showed. We’ve come a long way from all gray everything. I love that you mentioned rich people trends. I’m always saying that when certain things are mentioned as trends even though I’ve only seen them in wealthy peoples homes. Like how is that a trend? 😅
Whenever I'm not sure if something is my taste or is it a trend, I ask 7-year old me if she would like it. And 7-year old me absolutely love these colors.
So basically the decor industry came back to their senses and realized that decor should be like it used to be before this drab gray trend started. You would need to be dead inside if you don't like color. This is how we have been decorating before all along and how we should always be decorating present and future. Arches and moulding are actually timeless features that are trending big now but will go back to be that again , timeless features that will always have a place to be.
I don't know about you but I never lived in a grey home and I don't follow trends, but live in a very colorful, unique, lively home. My comment was about the decor industry going through its most depressing time ever and me watching it from the perspective of a fan of decor and interior design and seeing it finally breaking away from that after such period. If you cannot see that, then you are the one that needs to wake up and stop the negative, unproductive also judgmental comments @@rekwa3860

That shade of purple looks so pretty on you! Love the hat as well. I recently had a color analysis with a consultant from House of Colour, and the whole color draping process was so interesting. I learned that there's a shade of purple in every season, that true red works for everyone, but black doesn't. Anyway, I also learned that people are using their personal color palette to help them choose colors for their living spaces. Have you heard this as well and what are your thoughts about the wisdom of creating whole rooms with colors that look amazing on you? Hope you have a peaceful and magical holiday season. 💜🎁🎉

Great to see you again; I love your videos! I love most of these trends except color drenching and colored cabinetry. I have absolutely loved my murals , it’s wonderful that the trend has caught up What does concern me is the colour drenching trend , getting all those ceilings white again after the trend will be a nightmare 😂
AI on the design side should be "de rigeur", since everyone wants to see their decisions implemented before they spend time or money. It's a scary thing to paint a room, especially now with so many choices available. Showing a realistic picture of what a particular color will look like under different light conditions is a real boon for clients, as well as designers.
I'm not really ready to move away from whites, beiges, and blacks toward color yet. I still feel like adding color can make a space feel too distracting and overly specific.
This was excellent. Loved the visuals to explain what you were describing, also loved the “rich ppl” trends at the end - it’s fun to know what the ‘no budget’ folk are up to ;)
