  • video #3 of the day driving red cone trail! This is the descent off the effectively 13,000 foot summit of red cone peak!
31% grade awaits you in at least one spot, and there are 3 good drops off the summit of red cone to the webster pass parking area.

usually you can pass the one by august. but then by october it's done! So you have a short window.

The video never shows the real angle. I've run red cone and tons of other trails in Colorado. The decent off red cone summit it's the steepest descent I've done yet.

Hmmm, 31% grade is only 15 degrees. What makes it interesting is the slippery rocks. Lots steeper trails in Colorado. be safe

It's been a long time since using Tilt-o-Meters, but I have an old one, and it measures angles in degrees, not grades. So if your Tilt-o-Meter is registering "31", then that is degrees of angle, not percent of grade. So, that means that, given 100% grade is 45 degrees, 31 degrees means a 69% grade! Much more impressive! ;)
