Kudos to you, for I came here to say this exactly same thing. I also hate myself enough to have gone through WoW Classic 1-60 as a Protection Warrior, completely solo, because I like to feel like I'm nothing and no one, a nobody from nowhere if you will. I am also totally fine with anyone playing any game however they see fit, and as for that matter, I usually tend to play story driven single-player RPG's on easy mode. Each to their own, I guess. There is no singular right way to enjoy games, and if there is, please don't tell me, because that would make me not want to do it. P.S. This comment is very #AuDHD coded.
I agree, using Swords or Axes, or even crossbows will be much better for Warrior levelling. Basically, maces and their associated skills are too slow for a low level build, and we're even supposed to take -% attack speed nodes on top of that , SMH.
The video really motivated me. I had a lot of trouble with my warrior, especially in Act 2, and all my friends got through it much more easily with their monks and minions. I really enjoy jumping through the hordes with the Titan, especially the cracking sound when I break the armor and then the giant hammer falls. We're not bad players and can pat ourselves on the back for bringing him to the maps as the first character.
I went for stun build-up with Rolling Slam, Leap Slam, Boneshatter and totems. Once I got a very good weapon upgrade in act 3 and picked up Sunder I saw a huge power spike and my damage carried me all the way to endgame. Giant's Blood helped a ton with resistances but defense can definitely be a struggle. Didn't figure out how good Mace Swing was until late act 2. All really good points. Animation cancelling with dodge roll, learning what to face tank and what not to face-tank, getting a bit of life regen and attack speed, good quality of life. Warrior probably not the best choice for first class playthrough but definitely doable, if a bit of a struggle.
I had tried Count Geoner at least a dozen times then in chat someone said mace swing was the best attack. Used nothing but mace swing on the next attempt and beat him. The fight went so much faster. Same thing on act 2 boss combined armor breaking after some tries and the fight went so much faster I don’t think I went through all the stages(mechanics)of the fight
thanks for the tips, now my warrior frustrations make sense to me. I had to get a witch to join me before I could kill Jamanra in Act 2, and then it just melted. I will take your advice and get back to leveling the warrior again. Good video, keep up the great info.

I’m loving warrior, just got to Cruel and got smoked by Praetor. You definitely need top tier dodge roll skills for this class. I’ve beaten every boss by chopping them down with mace strike, I’m running stampede with armor break, sunder, totem, war cry & leap slam. What i really love is that melee is actually fucking melee, up in their face chopping away…closer to a souls experience for this class. Enjoyed the video!
I personally use a shield and mace, using totems and shield charge. This combination is by far the easiest way. Shield charge is great for stunning or getting the hell out of stuff. Shield charge is very strong, can take out a normal pack, any left are stunned then drop your totems to finish off. I use shield charge to push monsters into my totems stunning them for a second or two. With extra totem support gem can take out most bosses. Just head straight for closest cluster for totems bottom left, then head for extra totems. Ignore other nodes until you get the extra 2 totems. Drop your+1 totem gem when you get your two+1 totem on tree. This is a great survival build, stack magic find on gear, I am currently on 48%. This will give you a higher chance to get unique items and rares. Look for high armor on shield higher the armor stronger shield charge will be. Stack % armor on shields from passive tree. Tried other variations but found this to be the best for levelling.
Wholeheartedly agree with these tips, started a witch and got the horns of bydnn which made me make a warrior and it made things so much better, theory crafted and made a rare gem that was killer for warrior while leveling and stacked hp regen and appropriate resists and laugh at how much easier my character had gotten with these design choices.
Love your content mate! I saved warrior for last figuring it would need the most gear. I have a decent stockpile of leveling rare armor/strength gear now, so I will start mine probably this weekend! Keep it up. We really dig your stuff! 👍

Flasks are life. - AOE = Defense. - Perfect strike, then the hammer of the gods can carry through boss fights. Drop EQs and stay alive until a heavy stun, warcry, then punish with perfect strike and HotG. - There are two vendors in the camps in act three. One sells armor, and one sells weapons. If you are slumming for gear, check them every level once you reach that point. - Once you stun an enemy, they are stun resistant for like 15 seconds (shows up as a reddish color on their stun bar instead of the normal tan). Wait a few seconds before engaging again when your stuns will matter. - Use boneshatter to pop primed stuns. This essentially reduces their stun threshold by 20%. - Be careful of attack speed. A 1.05 APS mace vs a 1.1 APS mace can make the difference between you constantly getting hit or not. Attack speed on gloves it great. Phy's Leech is great. Don't stress if you don't get them. - Taking all of the reduced attack speed nodes on the tree will feel terrible and cause you to die a LOT. - Don't try to force bleed early (this may have changed now that lacerate does 50%).
I personally find the warrior pretty easy to play and more engaging. I have over 1k hours in all the fromsoftware games and I always play a strength character. The one thing I appreciate about this video is the Resistances section didn't know about the importance but, I will build I to that going forward. Oh and totems are a life saver I love them.
It hurts man.... I agree. Warriors was my second pick next to Druids then Monks.... I haven't passed the first stage of ascending lol. Now granted I suck a bit I'm sure, but melee is rough.
Did you forget to mention Resolute Technique? Herald of Ashe? Herald is super good. Other than that, yep! Perfect Strike with Infernal strike is awesome against bosses. Leap Slam can be rippy. It is super fun to leap slam boneshatter, but its just safer to use two or molten blast from distance.
I've found, the best strategy for me on Warrior is to wait until the devs patch it out of oblivion lol. It's the worst starting character of the six by a factor, sadly for me. I've played all six to the act 1 boss with the exception of Warrior, it's just too slow, broken, and really cannot take damage like you would expect from a "Tanking Class". Great game, can't wait until they fix warrior. That said, I will be playing with these tips and thank you sir, for sharing them!
Before Release i heard „dont go melee, to hard“ now warrior is my most loved class and i dont have Problems. I played him more than my other classes, the Smash is so powerful i love it. My only advice, as poe beginner, is look for a weapon with +physical dmg and u will Smash… after that get Resi and stuff.
I had a totally opposite experience my monk fell off a cliff around 40 and became a slog to play. Warrior has been extremely fun and more engaging to me on bone splinter titan through first 5 act clears.
I am warrior since minute one of launch. I didn't know which clase I wanted to start. I have been building it myself and enjoying every moment. Yes it's trully brutal as a melee especially pre trails nerfs.
Thought I was out of my mind, preferring my basic strike over any of the skills. I also feel like, on all my characters, dodge rolling makes up 90% of my 'tactics' in this game, which just doesn't feel like what was intended for what's supposed to be a tactics heavy game. One thing I'd add to your list is to find a health potion that gains a charge every .xx seconds, as some of the fights can really drag out.
I have 100 hours in the game and I only now realized your basic attack also levels up along the way. At level 50 my basic attack showed it was level 12 and it has 200%+ modifier. That explains a lot. And yeah the auto-regen flasks are always a requirement for me for when you have a lengthy 1 v 1 lol.
Never played poe1. Picked warrior as my first class. Huge souls fan. So I thought the game was just hard.... I loved the challenge. Took me almost 10 minutes to beat a boss in act 1. Didn't die, but very challenging. I liked it 🤷♀️
I’m playing warrior. Rolling slam all the way. Infernal cry to empower first. It’s carried me through the first two acts without too much difficulty. Seems like everyone prefers leap slam and sunder but to me I don’t see why I would swap from rolling slam. Maybe they buffed it?
Just hit 78 and it’s brutal. But man it’s satisfying. Active shield block, single swing, active block, repeat had so many close calls with bosses and yellows always makes me laugh! I got crap gear and refused to auction. It was rough. Endgame is fun as hell though
Its crazy! I startet with Warrior and now iam in act 3 normal with 1.4k life all ele res are capped and over 1k armor... And the result is that the mobs beat my ass
What are you thinking of the map experience so far? I am on T1’s right now and the lack of stuff in the non mechanic maps is a little weird. Also don’t care for one death killing the run with everything being so deadly
@@jacek2300I tried the new tremor support on sunder and socketed the other after shock gem. I was getting 10 to 12 after shocks sometimes but it's kinda RNG. Haven't tried the shield buffs yet though.
Warriors my third character and I’m having a lot of fun, but I also have a bunch of unique that I have farmed up, but still I’m getting used to the mechanics of the whole game. I haven’t even been able to complete four maps in the endgame with my Ranger.
The team play as a warrior is awful. When I play solo I like to use mace strike until mobs have a yellow orb above their head and boneshatter them with large aoe. Those yellow orbs above their heads go away if they're hit again for some reason and it's really frustrating.
I'm a Warrior-class player (Paladin, Crusader, Death/Shadow Knight, etc.) and my main in PoE1 is a "Warrior" (Marauder > Juggernaut). PoE2 *is* grueling, and unless you're lucky (you're using the unique: Brynhand's Mark Wooden Club), it's less grueling as a second class. If you start with a "farming class," you can (luck/RNG) come across a few items that can help maWarriorrrior start easy. By the time my first Warrior reached level 25, I had more than enough to re-roll (pre-respec patch) and build a far stronger Warrior, semi-recreating my Mjolnir Marauder build from PoE1, using Herald of Thunder, Conduction, Lightning Infusion, and others. Everything else is basically Boss/Damage avoidance mechanics. Have fun, people.
Warrior as my first character was a mistake 😂 Went full totem build. Early game was a struggle. Now I just run around and loot while the totem does everything.
I am playingvtotems now. I love it. Slow. Whats your take on this - if i like it shaould i go on or switch to some meta? Do u think it could pull off t15s?
For that wolf thing boss is it normal for those wolves to continually spawn? I saw earlier they never quit spawning vs me my first time playing them. Like literally never quit spawning!
They keep spawning while he has the fog up but supposed to freeze and stop spawning when the fog goes away. If they never stopped was probably just a bug
I ended up trying to level a warrior using quarterstaves and pretending to be a monk. Worked well, sad to say. Will respec in later acts, probably. This was actually inspired by you mentioning you were messing around with warrior and quarterstaves from a video or 2 ago
Warrior has the easiest start compared to all the other classes I have played. Grab Rolling Slam as your first ability and turn left when leaving the first camp, there is a spot that guarantees a level 1 uncut support. Turn that into increased melee stun. Throw on a 2hand mace and use any orbs on the mace to get it to rare. You will obliterate act 1. 1-2 shot heavy stun bosses and obliterate them
@@JorgenPOE I am running a Mace Merc and you can set up a gas grenade to be a very effective armor break that doesn't care about accuracy. I imagine a Warrior could probably find a way to make it work for them as well. The dex requirement is probably a bit harsher coming from that direction though. But it could be something to explore.
If you are not successful at killing end chapter bosses, go back through other areas and kill previous bosses to go up 2-3 levels and get good item drops. Ironically, at the beginning after leaving camp the Frost witch drops good items, probably the best item drops from a monster in the first chapter. I revist them all, run through final level for xp. Log to character selection and repeat. Chapter boss fights are a lot easier then.
i started with monk and now warrior. I find warrior quite easier following Woolie guide than monk. i one shoot almost everything, i don't give mobs the chance to lower my tankier defenses
I played warrior. I couldn’t imagine playing anything else. Not gonna pretend like it wasn’t painful. But I enjoyed the experience. Maybe because I don’t know any better 🤷♂️
I'm going to disagree. I started with warrior and I think it's why I fell in love with the game. I have experienced some of the issues you've mentioned, gear/level dependence being the worst, slow progression as well, so I agree it may need work. But warrior plays more like a souls-like than the other classes and that's what I'm here for. That said, I'm nowhere near end-game. I'm level 50 and about halfway through act 1 cruel. FYI I have gone for a mixed build with armor break, stun, and sunder. 1h mace w shield. I have lately been able keep bosses stunned for half the fight, even occasionally (unreliably) stunning through the stun resistant period after a stun. My only complaint is that for as much as I've invested in armor I still occasionally get one shot by some mobs in the maps by un-telegraphed attacks. The essence encounters seem to start off so violently I can die and not have a clue why. In any case, loving the game so far, loving warrior, and thanks for this informative video 👍
I know this is the boring option that just skips your journey as a warrior, but wouldn't it be easier just to play with a quarterstaff until you reach a point where warrior can be viable and respec? Once you get to level 14 with Monk and unlock tempest flurry and the tempest bell you just melt through all the enemies and bosses and the campaign becomes a breeze. The warrior skill tree works just fine with the quarterstaff since it's still melee, I actually made my Monk go towards the mercenary skill tree just because I found the nodes more straightforward since I was still learning.
It should probably be stated that warrior can be easy af if you played a lot of souls games and are familiar with the defensive playstyle. Also unlike every other class, warrior is completely and utterly gear dependent. If your gear sucks, you will just die, or spend too long killing things. Farm good gear on minion or range, then give it to the warrior.
This actually other way around. I made mage it was so hard I created warrior and breezed throw campaign end game is kind of hard because u have to constantly move and my armor break double handed mace is not working as before
When people ask me if I'm good at ARPGs, I tell them I got to maps with Warrior in POE 2 as my first character

- Don't try to force bleed early (this may have changed now that lacerate does 50%).
love the warrior, 42 hours of trudging, hung up in act 2 currently too warrior like to give up!
Warrior has reignited my love for gaming no joke . I actually feel rewarded for playing good with the class.
How did this video survive the latest patch notes? Is it better now?
Lil bit. My tips still stand
No surrender warrior gang ⚔️ Once we get swords and axes it's over for these bosses
Utzaal made me pull my hair out using warrior.
No worries man
I appreciate the honest review. You are right, warrior is a pain at this point.
I liked it 🤷♀️
Yeah warrior made the bosses in act 1 feel thrilling. Then you try another class and you just breeze through them.
I think if they just gave the warrior straight 30 percent attack speed across the board it would be fine.
Or if they gave it a single good 1v1 DPS attack that wasn't your default attack. I don't think it would necessarily make it a 1-skill character.
Glad you’re bringing this up. Packs are okay. Bosses are shit
Boneshatter is great for mobs, but 1v1 feels abysmal for Warrior early on.
I started as warrior and played through the graveyard and the game refuses to give me anything but bows and spell stuff.
I went in thinking it'd be isometric Elden Ring. Doing fine with stampede for clear, sunder and biggest bonk heaven hammer for st
i went for monk skills till 41 then rolled into warcry worked pretty well. the warr skills are just trash
This is probably the easiest way to start up a warrior.
I needed to hear that first tip before i started playing the game😂. It was pretty boring to start but not bad by the end of act 3
Monk has been a struggle for me lol I only now feel kind of like my build is functioning at 36, is warrior that much worse?
It's alot worse lol
And now with some buffs pure shield build viable? Like shueld crush in por1?
Possibly. I'll see what I can cook up
Tried a few skills, well....not impressive at first glance
@@jacek2300I tried the new tremor support on sunder and socketed the other after shock gem. I was getting 10 to 12 after shocks sometimes but it's kinda RNG. Haven't tried the shield buffs yet though.
Warriors my third character and I’m having a lot of fun, but I also have a bunch of unique that I have farmed up, but still I’m getting used to the mechanics of the whole game. I haven’t even been able to complete four maps in the endgame with my Ranger.
Can you share your skill tree and the support gems you are using on your skills ?
I'm gonna do a guide on my build a bit later on today so I'll provide all of this.
ty a lot
Totem with armor brake y the best ❤
The team play as a warrior is awful. When I play solo I like to use mace strike until mobs have a yellow orb above their head and boneshatter them with large aoe. Those yellow orbs above their heads go away if they're hit again for some reason and it's really frustrating.
I hate my self event more. That is why I play dual wielding 2H Maces Titan :)
1) equip molten blast
2) press button
3) profit
having alot of fun with molten blast so far :)
From my experience, you have to clear them all a few rounds. I can't remember how many, sorry.
Eventually they will stop. Good luck!
They keep spawning while he has the fog up but supposed to freeze and stop spawning when the fog goes away. If they never stopped was probably just a bug
@ oh god you could sit there and level
I ended up trying to level a warrior using quarterstaves and pretending to be a monk. Worked well, sad to say. Will respec in later acts, probably. This was actually inspired by you mentioning you were messing around with warrior and quarterstaves from a video or 2 ago
Quarterstaff works perfectly fine as a warrior at least throughout the whole first campaign. All his nearby nodes benefit the quarterstaff gameplay.
Warrior has been so easy for me leap slam is the only skill I need and I can generally just rank everything the boss throws at me
Warrior has the easiest start compared to all the other classes I have played. Grab Rolling Slam as your first ability and turn left when leaving the first camp, there is a spot that guarantees a level 1 uncut support. Turn that into increased melee stun. Throw on a 2hand mace and use any orbs on the mace to get it to rare. You will obliterate act 1. 1-2 shot heavy stun bosses and obliterate them
Armor break and armor explode still best for lvling after patch?
It feels good... But the accuracy feels bad
@JorgenPOE any good alternatives? Just made a warr after the patch lmao. It's hard
Waited for some buffs until last patch and kept playing but they nerfed warrior again. I quit playing at lvl 67 and rerolled to witch.
Upvote for patches o'hoolighan
i started with monk and now warrior. I find warrior quite easier following Woolie guide than monk. i one shoot almost everything, i don't give mobs the chance to lower my tankier defenses
Titan lvl 79 here …with 4 ascendancy points
I played warrior. I couldn’t imagine playing anything else. Not gonna pretend like it wasn’t painful. But I enjoyed the experience. Maybe because I don’t know any better 🤷♂️
I wish I could take the d2r Paladin in place lol 😂
Oh good i thought it was just me. Warrior is yuck but I stuck through it
I'm going to disagree.
Are you still doing armour explode after the nerf?
Yep
I'm blasting with the Warrior.
Or you can level as Titan Minions then change to titan bonk boi once you have some currency.
80hrs over 4 or 5 characters? 2 weeks since release?
Say jamanra again bruz. Jah - mahn - rah.....
I played 1h and shield with blocked passive spam 3 totem for damaged
Gotta get your strength (life) up cause many enemies are actively designed for range and will PUNISH you for getting close
This actually other way around. I made mage it was so hard I created warrior and breezed throw campaign end game is kind of hard because u have to constantly move and my armor break double handed mace is not working as before
So, no active block? May be why the struggle. It's broken strong
Very good video
