There is actually a setting that can be changed in the ecu that allows starting while the bike is still in gear.

Jake was a big part of my life at 14-15 and so on. I watched every video, showed my dad how cool supermotos were, finally got my own dual sport at 15 a crf230l, then Jake released a video of him riding one! I was so pumped. Much love for Jake, glad to see he’s still doing well and happy, as he brought me much happiness and hours of enjoyment growing up.

Its amazing. I tried going with a few different replacement levers instead, but nothing like this RSC perch/lever. Worth every penny and it doesn't matter what you're doing it just makes clutch work much more enjoyable

Jake always makes fun of his artwork but that was actually a really good representation of RSC vs Stock.
But yeah, I've had RSC on my bikes for years and can't recommend them enough. Such a huge improvement

  • @jctoth

Jake, you’re exactly right. This lever is not just for stunt riders. I recently setup my CRF450RL for single track with a Rekluse auto clutch. The Rekluse works great but the feel at the lever was a little too stiff for my tastes. I installed the RSC lever with easy pull and love it. Rekluse and RSC is a match made in heaven. The bike is now an off-road beast.

Yep. I ride a KTM 640 Adventure, geared up about 6% from stock to reduce RPMs on the highway. It has a Magura hydraulic clutch -- I didn't see an RSC lever for that application, but Midwest Mountain Engineering makes one that reduces lever effort by about 50% and roughly doubles the clutch engagement zone. Makes it a lot easier to ride low-speed single-track on a bike that's almost twice as big as a typical dirt bike and is geared about 50% higher than a typical big-bore enduro bike.

just got my gold two finger boneless rsc installed. followed all the instructions and it worked out perf 🤙 i removed the front fender to help with realigning all the holes on the headlight during the reinstallation and that helped its just apita screwing the bolts in and out for the fender 😅

12:00 since you've already got it taken down that far, it would be incredibly easy to go to radio shack... i mean, um, ordering from amazon... a switch of some sort, and making a hole for it. then you could use it as a bypass only when needed, like you do on the M-T7.

  • @bbevis2357
    @bbevis2357 2 роки тому +4

On my first motorcycle, I had an extremely hard time learning the clutch and nearly gave up on motorcycling. I was constantly stalling and was very uncomfortable stopping and starting. The bike had a bad on/off clutch with a narrow friction zone. (which I didn't know, and I later found out it had a carburetor issue, which also didn't help) I was so close to selling the bike, it was so clean and perfect, it had to just be me right?
Well, I decided to replace the clutch lever and perch to try and make up for my lack of skill, knowing it wasn't a good strategy, and OMG as a noobie it made a massive difference. I could actually ride the bike now. I started enjoying the experience instead of dreading every stopsign and stoplight. It was the one thing that made me keep riding and now I'm on my 6th bike.
Interpret the story as you wish, but in regards to replacing the lever and perch, it can absolutely make a big difference in providing more clutch control.

I picked up a RSC for my drz years ago based on an older video you made. I couldn't get it adjusted so it would work correctly, it kept slipping in higher gears. I ended up throwing the stock lever and perch back on, but kept the RSC in storage. Saw this vid and immediately ordered the spacer. There's still hope! I'll give it another go with the spacer.

    • @TheGardenSnake

Stupid question but would it not be easier for the RSC to come with a solenoid or a physical switch for this sort of thing? It would cost them next to nothing and would give full stock functionality. I also wonder how difficult it would be to fabricate something like that yourself, but I don't have an RSC lever to try it out on account of being a poor boi.
Either way, seems like a weird and annoying omission to me especially considering the price.

Does the perch cap with the mirror thread fit on the back of the rsc perch? was always curious to get this clutch but I like my stock mirrors on my 250l

I doubt it lines up right. You can get little clamp on deals to hold mirrors.

When are you doing some performance mods?

When I can get my hands of those parts. New model, not a lot out there yet. Dyno Jet is sending me a power commander, as soon as they make one. Revzilla is sending a full yosh as soon as they're available. It's not been easy.

Not better than a magura or brembo hydro clutch ;) just bleed like you do your brakes (far less often though) and never have to adjust it. 1/4in bit point every time. Best lever set up ever, change my mind.

How many fingers is this lever? It looks like 3 or 4?

Hey jake, wondering how you got so many sponsors?? Did you reach out to them or them to you? clearly not your first build, but some of my friends get their jeeps or wrx's sponsored without any previous builds and barely any money put into aftermarket stuff. help me get free parts!!!

I just ask and show my past work. The worst they'll say is no. You gotta make an argument for why you're worth it.
