I’m on patch 1.0.2 - Enjoyable game - there are some bugs popping up for some users. I have been relatively unscathed but a friend has had a bug causing loss of progress. With this in mind it’s worth keeping your eye on this top comment as I will update with patch updates as and when they drop. A shame but worth letting you know as I haven’t had issue. Mark
I appreciate you addressing the "can you get married" question without lowering the game's score because the answer is "no." I've seen so many people say they assume Harvestella is going to be crap because there doesn't appear to be a marriage element to it, and it's like... I'd rather have no romance in a game than have the shallow romance with paper thin tropes pretending to be characters that some games have been trying to get away with.
Okay!!! I was upset to see how they did queer men in fire emblem and then I was like just stop! I don't want romance if yaw can't even do it a fraction of justice
@@williamelliott186 Yea Fire Emblem has done a pretty terrible job when it comes to queer relationships if you play as male Byleth. Really sucks though since Three Houses has a ton for female Byleth where you actually get together with them. I’m still pretty new-ish to the series but as far as I’m aware the only game prior to 3H that allowed queer relationships was Fates but only with two characters.
I’ve heard about the bugs from other reviewers. I think the devs are trying to fix all of them though. They got rid of the lag caused by the rain (hence why there’s no rain in the game) so hopefully they get to this soon. Progress loss can easily make me lose interest in a game. Such a shame because I love how charming it looks.
@D yea. I often wonder if game devs have tried releasing a test version on Switch to see if it runs well or do they just release it and wait for feedback.
I'm loving this game. it's simple, but deep. Relaxing, but can get hectic when you dont have the stuff to make the right potions. Overall it seems very balanced and fun.
Note to everyone. For First time players of Potion Permit. You should romance Leone. During your 2nd or 3rd playthrough of the game. Because you're going to have to start fishing a hundred times. So you can catch a rare fish and become a official couple.
I wonder how long it takes in the game to become a pariah if all you do is brew poisons, mutter to yourself in your lab, and refuse to help anyone. It'd be funny if you eventually get run out of town. 😂
I ordered the physical! I've been wanting a crafting sim and this looks delightful. Even with all the issues, it still looks like a really fun game, and it's rare that it got a physical right away! pQube is really good about putting out physical games for it's Indie titles
You had me at dog companion... but seriously though, this sounds like a clever little title. I can understand why you see a bit of Moonlighter in this. Though I admittedly have pixel art fatigue, it's always nice when a developer does something to set it apart from the run-of-the-mill style. Potion Permit looks really vibrant and detailed. I also really dig mini-games when they're used to make frequent mundane tasks a little more fun. I'll definitely be wishlist'ing this one!
This is one I've definitely been looking forward to. I'll probably give it a shot and hope the bugs get fixed. Not a huge fan of the whole DLC thing being made available so soon after launch rather than including those items in the base game, but I guess that's gaming nowadays. Hopefully the rest of the game is worth it.
@Joe EX At 10:22 he mentions a few of the items. Sounds like he mostly lists decorations for the house. I heard from another source awhile back that the devs said it would be cosmetic stuff only, but I didn't see the dev comment myself, so take that for what you will. Still, I wish the items that were ready at launch had been included in the base game. The way they're doing it feels like slicing up content just to get more money.
I've been waiting on this for a while. The price seems fair, but since there are some potentially serious bugs, I'll wait for patches. Thanks for the review!
Thanks for the review. I was considering getting the physical until I saw the difference in price for eshop. Gone from a possible physical order to a definite eshop download... Really enjoy your reviews. You always seem to call out the little things people want and find helpful both in praise and criticsms.
I think this game lacked character portraits, even more for the supposed bachelors/bachelorettes... because without them, the characters lacks this big appeal for someone dates them
There are collectable character portraits in the book on the left as you go in your house, but I wish there was a second portrait of the romanceable characters when you get to the highest romance level with them as a reward
@@lottiesillustration Oh! so they did create actual anime faces for them all? interesting, i didn't know that... i wish they have used those arts on the character speeches to emulate a "novel" thing, that would give them more life

Fingers crossed we don't have any bugs and hopefully they'll release a patch soon. I started playing Bear and Breakfast I'm loving it so far ! They are just the perfect games to play now that it's almost Autumn and it's starting to be cold again.
Although this will have to stay on my wishlist for now, I’m really looking forward to playing it in the future once the bugs are fixed. I love the slight twist on the formula and this style of pixel art is one I like.
yes the artstyle is the kind of art that I like. Anyhow, wont be getting this game so soon as October is near and o.o a lot of those (old) games I want to collect (physically) are coming out.
This looks amazing but I've heard on other channels it can have some pretty nasty game breaking bugs and as I'm someone who hasn't been able to play Cult Of Lamb since day 2 of it coming out, when I was hit with a game breaking bug they've been unable to fix... I am not getting all hyped up for an indie just to be the unlucky one. I really wanted to love Lamb but losing 3 save files all in different ways really soured me on trying it again, especially while the dev STILL hasn't been able to find a fix for it (they know of the glitch, they just can't fix it yet) really has made me very wary as soon as I hear a single person confirm it has game breaking bugs.
Chuffed you reviewed this one, and that it comes out of it fairly well. Really fancied this one but wanted to wait for your thoughts before I bit the bullet. Cheers Mark, definitely picking this up!

Wasn't aware of this game until now but it looks really great! I'll give it a go I think. So many games on my list to play through and Xenoblade 3 just took me 80 hours+ to complete.
So relieved to hear that that whole compulsory ‘tick off the courting and marriage boxes, then carry on as before’ is a non-issue here. I do hope it signals a trend in this gaming genre. While fine as an option, for many It’s just a disruptive fetch quest endemic to sim games, even as all other life skills & activities are being touted as flexible and up to the individual proclivities of the player. Can't believe this is coming out so soon after Bear and Breakfast, I'm going to be spread so thin with Switch sim games! Also, your character looks incredibly similar to The Will from Saga, was making me chuckle the whole vid.

I was eyeing this one for a bit and despite my dislike of some of those reflex/memorization mini games, I’ll prob end up still buying it. I kind of don’t like it when mini games are included just for the sake of having mini games… like those d-pad mini games have no relevance whatsoever to the act of diagnosis so it feels kind of removed from the game (from what I’ve seen) and I wish instead they kind of kept it similar to real life like trying to figure out the diagnosis from symptoms (and maybe have a medical book or something you can look things up in and note things for future patients too? Or some other mini game that makes more sense) and also from other UA-cam gameplays I saw that once you make the diagnosis, the game just straight up tells you which potion to make, which imo takes the fun out of things. It would’ve been fun to try to figure out which potion to make too. Maybe that’s just me tho bc I’m coming from a med/public health background lol but still not really a fan of irrelevant mini games.. I like the alchemy Tetris puzzles tho! Thanks for the helpful review!! I was wondering if the code is limited time use? Kind of want to wait for bugs to smooth out before purchasing with your code 😊
I'm honestly hoping that Potion Permit meets all its upgrade requirements that the views suggested. Like the romancable options for Lucke, Runeheart and Hannah. Some of us would like to have a wedding scene and the option to breakup with a romantic partner in the game. Maybe in the future the game will finish all its upgrades like the Cattails game, Stardew Valley, My Time At Portia and Moonlighter.

The minigames all seem super sweet, that's what's grabbing me here, might have to buy
Thanks for the helpful review!! I was wondering if the code is limited time use? Kind of want to wait for bugs to smooth out before purchasing with your code 😊
I’ll definitely pick this up on a sale!
So not as great as I'd hoped but still looks good. Also, Woofster is awesome.
Eh not sure. Maybe wait for patches. Gotta say its tempting tho.
Seems like a charming game. I'll wishlist it.
Is it possible not to bring the dog or have different followers?
Any update for Zenonia?
Do characters have portraits?
