How to make moulds for concrete projects, like giant letters.
we made the forms by cutting foam blocks with a hotwire.
by far the easiest way to create a curved mould 10/10 would recommend :)

And then, if you want it to look finished, you fill up the holes in the sides with some mortar. That might be followed by painting some very wet mortar on the entire surface to make it all look the same.

This went different direction that I expected. I would have carved the letters out with foam then covered them with the mortar. Then you have light weight letters, less foam waste and less mortar needed.

Thanks for sharing this, I was looking for something along these lines and this is perfect. Nice touch with the supports on the bottom of the letters too...was trying to figure out how to make them stable and that's perfect.

great idea to use foam! But wasn't it fairly expensive since you needed so much of it? What was this sign used for? Seems perfect for the front yard of a concert venue or something. (But most of those don't have a front yard :p )

its a sign for a local shop, to be placed in the parkinglot. The foam was probebly not the best option pricewise (also quite messy to clean up) thanks for watching :)
