    "Baltic" has no meaning when referring to Estonia. It's a geopolitical term, not applicable to ethnicity, culture or identity of Estonia.

      The EU countries are partners, if you want to talk about someone elses board let's talk about the influence China and the US is wielding over Europe. The EU is the only institution that puts EU first.

      That's the entire reason why the EU exists. France and Germany and the low countries originally didn't like being completely dependent on the US who did not have their best interests so they created a financial block that would give them more autonomy.

Schuman's thought was, when Coal and Steel are under a common Authority there will not be any war between Germany and France anymore. On this EC/EU functioned well. Financial aspects are only a very late development of the last 30 years and were not created against USA but to serve trade ! European Commission has always been transatlantional ! Not always in Europeans interests ...

      Western Europe? The EU equally covers parts of Eastern Europe, Northern Europe and Southern Europe. According to the UN geoscheme, Estonia is in Northern Europe.
