@@JoeisHungry I know now why you got it in North Carolina seems like every week and if we get rain the grass really jumps people that have land should definitely get those RPG grinders it looks like you get a right angle every time you use it
I have not worn out the first one yet, I only have one mower and sharpen about every three cuts and mow 7 acers every week during the summer, they last a long time and then you turn it over.. :)
Best price I could find today is $521.00 plus the goodies. I was about to buy one for my 4-6 sharpenings a year plus friends and family, however Joe has offered to bring this machine so my blades can be trued up again. About balancing, since I started using a cone balancer, my mower is so quiet that I can hear the neighbors mowing while I'm cutting my lawn.
Yeah I really want one of these I have a small lawn mowing business and it's critical that I get the way to the grass cut looking good because that's just my nature to do things right so even if this is the top-of-the-line little more money I still would rather have it thank you for your video all I got to do is find one
finding one was the challenge. I called around to the local lawn places and got lucky. I actually called the manufacturer and was told they were back ordered but that was over a year ago so maybe things are better. thanks for watching
Call the manufacturer and ask who they sell them to in your area. That's how I got mine. Brother let me tell you that you will notice a difference in cut quality and it only takes maybe 10 or so passes to get the blades sharp and ready to go
Just bought this grinder in October 2022. It’s an understatement to say I’m disappointed to see this grinder is proudly made in….Mexico now. It’s a shame they slap that “Made in USA” sticker onto the product but can’t lie with new, cheaper Mexican motor they quietly replacing with now. The paint job on my unit is horrible (paint chips/excess everywhere). The $80 grit catcher is the same with huge gaps on the back sides. With this Mexican quality, I say just go with the Vevor knock-off and save yourself half the cost!
@@Joefixesit I guess it is very difficult to have things truly made in the USA now, and the inflation just makes it worse. The reason I’m quite unhappy is because I called Walls prior to the purchase to inquire about different variances of the motors I saw on the web. They reassured me that they’re all made in the USA and quality product, but the label says made in Mexico. Don’t get me wrong, it still functions fine. But the wobbly grinding blade & horrible paint job tell me that quality isn’t the same as “original”.
What I do not understand is if you sharpen many blades over the same area of the grinding wheel, it seems to me the grinding wheel will wear out quickly in one spot. Then there is alot of grinding wheel waste because only a small part of the grinding wheel is used over and over. Am I correct in my thinking?
@@mea56 sorry I was in la la land.. I was talking about the chain sharpener for the chain saw. You just replace the grinder wheels when they wear out. sorry
you know that is a hell of a good idea.. I have trying to come up with a good video and you just gave me the idea. I will do it next week and give you a shout!
Have to disagree about the nail in the wall. That works fine. But, NEVER wear gloves when using a bench grinder. If it catches any part of the glove, you’re probably losing some fingers.
Joe Fixes It I realize the balancer works better, but it’s not worth $200 vs a .10¢ nail. Be sure to post a retraction the day that grinder grabs hold of your glove and pulls your hand in. Do what you want, it’s just irresponsible to advise others to do something so incredibly dangerous.
rogermurph101. Gloves are "ALWAYS" a must, I would rather that wheel grind on leather for 1/2 second, than my skin! Your hand won't be close enough, for the wheel to grab you, when sharpening a 20"- 24" blade!
@@JoeisHungry When I was in high school one of my first jobs was cleaning welds with an air powered wire wheel. The first night I was zipping away with the wire wheel, leaned forward a little to far and next thing I knew, I was naked from the waist up, ripped that t-shirt right off me, my eyes were bigger than hubcaps! Wire wheels grab, most abrasive discs will chew on you for a little while, before they ruin your day!
wet stones by hand!? wow.. new blades every year.. I just cut my own and a rental property all total about 6 acers. Blades last my 5 or 6 seasons. You would have to buy a lot of blades to pay for this Grinder although you got to admit it is cool.
@@brasshound4442 oh yeah, I usually sharpen about every third cutting as it looks so much better when you do, nothing left standing especially this year in Georgia
I have one similar. Paid around $550 for it about 6 yrs ago. I’m starting to not like it because there’s no guide on keeping the blade straight when you pull it back. So the end of the blade always get more took off than the back of the blade. Making it more narrow at the end over time. Also, there’s no way to dial in the correct angle of the blade. It’s like a guessing game. You can roll the grinding wheel in and out, but doesn’t show at what degree you’re setting it. A lot of money for narrowing my blades. Ugh
I have two of the larger 934 machines at work. Best sharpener ever! When I started we had a RBG stone wheel grinder. Took me 15-20 minutes for EACH blade. Sucked. My supervisor bought me a Neary grinder with vacuum, hated it. Same type of grinder as the old RBG. I bought this one and love it. I bought the grit collector too but I had to add rubber to the sides and top to collect all the grit that goes sideways. It works so well I bought another one for our other shop. The discs last a long time too.
I almost got a 934 when I was looking at this one. I obviously do not have a commercial operation and this is doing the job, but reading this I am biting back the urge to go out and get a 934. Thanks! As far as the grit collector. I just roll the machine over to the door and take the air hose to blow the grit away when done, I got the ballancer on the wall right by the door. I love it!
I like the efficiency of these machines, but you'd have to be nuts to drop $400-$500 bucks on this unit! Most people could throw one of these together, for little or nothing, from scraps around the shop!

Nice job man.
Thanks!
Save your money. I do it on a 2x72" belt grinder with an angle jig. The belt grinder has other uses also!

How many blades ca be sharpened before changing the disc?
not really sure as I do not do it commercial production but I think someone doing a busy lawn service gets a whole season

Just use a bench grinder with shelf set to 60 degrees . Put a steel step drill bit in a vise, place blade over bit and use to check balance.
But you would lose the cool factor...
