  • Never make mistakes when using an electric angle grinder.
    The electric angle grinder is an essential tool for many types of jobs, it is used for cutting, grinding, sanding and many other functions. however, at the same time that it is very useful for the most varied types of work, the electric angle grinder is also a very dangerous piece of equipmen however we must be attentive when using an electric angle grinder. Wear all personal protective equipment and always properly maintain all angle grinder parts before using an angle grinder. In this tutorial I go over a little of what we should and shouldn't do when working with an angle grinder. If you liked the video, don't forget to leave a like and subscribe to the channel to always stay on top of all the news.

    2 - No te he visto utilizar guantes o gafas de protección.
    3 - La máquina incluye una llave para fijar la rosca de apriete que tampoco has usado en ningún momento.
    Creo que debes aprender a usar una amoladora correctamente antes de dar consejos a los demás. Un saludo.

    I'm confused. Do you or do you not use the spanner wrench to tighten the cutting wheel? If you're not supposed to use it, then why does the manufacturer provide one with the tool? Common sense tells me to push button to lock angle grinder and use spanner wrench provided to tighten cutting wheel to grinder. Am I wrong?

    • @DVSONENL
      @DVSONENL 7 місяців тому

      Hand tighten and then give the Cut off disk or abrasive disk a pull to tighten it a bit more and you're good to go.

    • @andrewcoulter525
      @andrewcoulter525 Місяць тому +2

      Don't use the wrench on the flange nut when fitting a cutting or grinding disc. Just snug it by hand. When the grinder spins up the inertia tightens it up. The wrench is supplied so you can loosen the flange nut when you want to remove the disc. If you tighten the flange nut with the wrench it is possible to over-tighten it which can damage the disc imperceptibly leading to failure of the disc. This is one of the reasons a disc can shatter in use. You should never use a disc you don't know the history of, or a disc that has been dropped for the same reason. Discs also have a expiry date printed on them. Don't use them past that date. Expired discs have a greater chance of shattering because the adhesives holding everything together degrade over time. Keep your discs in a dry environment away from humidity. Humidity can cause premature failure of the adhesive and disc failure.

    Read the manufacturer's instructions. They explain the correct way to use the tool. As you become more experienced you will see why some of the safety features bare there. I worked with numerous people who were badly hurt because they thought "it would not happen to them." Wen a blade (particularly ultra thin blades) shatters, it can really cause serious damage to you.

    I found out to my cost how dangerous angle grinders are. I was cutting a plastic sewage pipe with a saw blade on the grinder. It kicked back and the blade went down the middle of my index finger also taking off the tip of another finger. Several years ago I was cutting through a brick, the cutting disk grabbed my teeshirt which wrapped around the blade. I was unable to turn it off and it cut a ten inch gash into my stomach. I can not blame the grinder it was my fault for being so stupid. I respect the angle grinder now and follow all safety rules.

    So for years I've been loading my cutoff discs backwards? I've never had problem, is there something I'm missing? I just went up on a Norton Abrasives video on how to load a disc, why are they showing the wrong way? Put this in UA-cam search and see for yourself - How to mount a cutting disc onto an angle grinder correctly. I honestly just want to know which way is correct and why or does it even matter.

      To me it looks like a standards approval stamp, just like all the other markings on his disc. I think he just saw what he believed to be a directional arrow and jumped to the wrong conclusion.
      Additionally, it makes no sense that they would be directional as there are no teeth involved, just abrasive particles.

I have other tools that blow saw dust into my vision and eyes not away like right hand action. We left handers should get some sort of credit on the purchase price for having to accept unequal consideration, or at a least “right Handed Version” should be printed on the packaging.

      @@donaldgodide8740 Sounds similar to my tablesaw injury then, barely felt a thing until I noticed the blood. I guess any fast spinning tool will severe the nerves before you can register pain but would you say the recovery pain after was really bad? I did suffer serious throbbing and minor psychological distress for a few days myself

    Sad, this might have been interesting, but being a DUMB (no narration, silent) Video it is useless to me. I task while listening, rarely watch videos.

    I know its not recommended but I run mine without a guard. As long as you keep an eye on the disc and dont get cheap you should be alright. You can also use your grinder to cut about 1 1/2" off the guard making it easier to use one. Again, not recommended but theres just so many things you need to see better while you cut, just keep the grinder angled away from your face while cutting in case the disc blows.

      Same! I upholster boat seats for a living, and use the grinder mainly to remove frozen bolts from the wood bases. You can't really do that with the guard on, as it impedes vision and also you can't get into tight spaces sometimes.

      Yeah, and when the disc blows you will wish you had the guard.

      Yeah and when the disc blows to bits and they do occasionally trust me that guard will be all that’s protecting you from serious injury. If it explodes and hits your safety glasses you may get lucky but if it hits your face you are going to have to pray that the plastic surgeon is good.

      Angle grinders are one of the most dangerous tools to use. While a circular saw is very similar, the angle grinder spins at a much higher speed, and the physics say that energy increases with the square of the speed. These things can, and will literally take your head off if they get stuck.

    this video started out ok with putting the nut on correctly for different thicknesses of disc. and ya, you should always use a guard. but then you got muy stupido making up stuff about the direction of a fiber disc. you are using a norton disc. look on their website for a video that tells you the disc orientation is personal preference and makes no safety or functional difference. stop making stuff up in your brain and focus on real safety issues like angle of incidence, rpm's and matching discs to materials

      Thank you for your comment, I'm glad you understood the objective of the video, we are just trying to pass on a little of our knowledge, especially for beginners, as the angle grinder is a very dangerous piece of equipment 🙂🙏🙏
