  • It's not cheap, given the same fundamental powertrain and transmission package is available for less, but the Beats offers all the Polo's best assets in a package that'll no doubt appeal strongly to people who want to stand out a bit more than is possible in the Comfortline or R-Line.

    I have a beats polo which I bought because I got a new job and needed to drive 80km every day (40km each way) it’s good on gas and I have had no problems, even while racking up 40k Km in less than 2 years. I bought it brand new from the dealership and it came with everything this guy mentioned. It comes with great surrounding system comparing to any other Volkswagen, in my family we have three VWs I can tell the difference. The screen is amazing, large and easy to navigate. The start and off button is easy to access, I turn it off as soon as I leave the house, this is found in almost all new cars so no point complaining about it. The system on the car is great, it shows you if there’s anything wrong with the car and actually shows you through digital images where it is and sometimes tells you what to do to fix it. It’s unique and quirky. I’m young and I didn’t want a basic boring and shit car and I didn’t want to spend over 30k on a car I’m going to rack up my kms, therefore that’s why I chose this car. It’s perfect for anyone who’s looking at being a little bit different and on a budget. For those complaining about it being dull or whatever, it’s a bloody polo, not your Golf R or Fiesta ST. Lol. Also this video is crap, shows nothing but the fittings of the car and complaining about the littlest things . The badges and stripes are there to make it unique and not look like any other polo, otherwise what’s the point of trying to make it different. If you’re looking at purchasing this car, I would do more research on it rather than watching this crap.

      Thanks for sharing this champ. I have to drive to work every day and I clock around about 100ks a day (47ks one way). I’ve been looking for something cheap on fuel and after reading your comment, I’m locking it in this weekend.

    I've got the same problem with the trim in my R-line but on the other side of the panel. Bit of a piss take isn't it? I also had the problem with my car not moving in traffic but I think you've given me the idea to turn start/stop off so thanks for that.

    The Beats does NOT get the Navigation system included. It also doesn't get the Digital speedometer screen either. And no wireless charging. I've got one so you can't say it does 😂 Those things are additional extras that you'd pay for when building one.

    I don’t know where vw place themselves nowadays, but the Golf GTI cost 55k? Same as the A class? Wtf? Have you seen the A class interior? They seriously think crap like golf is worth that much?

    • @superflea72
      @superflea72 5 років тому +1

      for 55k you could get a low kilometre A200 with 120kw (and yes, a very nice interior), or a new Golf GTi with 180kw with an also nice interior (ok, not as nice as the Merc, but not too shabby at all). if you want though, you can save a lot of cash and buy a low kilometre GTi for around the mid to high 40k.

    • @Tomoyo0827
      @Tomoyo0827 5 років тому

      superflea72 55k can get you a demo A250 4matic, or a used A45 from last generation. Both which are miles better than a golf GTI. If you can stretch to 60k A35 is coming out in April, that’s better than the R even for less money too.

    • @superflea72
      @superflea72 5 років тому +1

      @@Tomoyo0827 if you want to keep talking about interiors, you should avoid last-gen A-class Mercs...the dash looked like it belonged in a 90's Lancer, it wasn't pretty at all. if however you're determined to spend upwards of 60k, then a low km BMW M140i will kill both of those cars. it has the power, build quality, an excellent transmission, and it's rear-wheel-drive. I have an M135i, and they are wickedly good little cars.

      You're just flat out wrong.
      The only issue they have is with the turbo when people neglect to allow the oil to cool it down (you just have to idle it after driving for a minute or two). Do that and you'll have no problem with the little turbo.
      Other than that, every problem has been pretty much ironed out by this point.

    I love this car but 20k to 25k for combustion engine car?
    I thought market economics would have lowered the price of super minis to around 10k. Clearly not.
    I would happily pay 20k to 25k for a electric car but not a combustion engine. unbelievable.

    So it’s the same boring to drive Polo with a few Beats badges and a higher price tag... Basically just fashion statement.... No thanks, not for me.
    I always maintain that if you don’t care much about driving or you don’t know much about cars and you just want something decent to get you from A to B then you can buy a Polo and you’ll be perfectly happy with it.
    However, if you enjoy driving and you want a dynamic and fun drive and a car with some character then you have to buy a Fiesta, it’s plain and simple. I’ve driven many different Polo variants and they’re all a bit lame to drive in my opinion, where as the Fiesta even in its most basic spec is fun and engaging.
    In short:
    Polo = boring and common (even in this beats spec)
    Fiesta = Fun, characterful and dynamic.
    Yes this is all my personal opinion, not everyone may agree, so don’t shout at me if you don’t, your opinion is just as valid for you as mine is for me.

    • @mills3375
      @mills3375 5 років тому

      Couldn't of said it better my self. People only buy the polo cause of the VW badge. People thinks it makes them more special than 'Normal Car Brands'. Would easily take the fiesta over the polo

      I test drove a Suzuki Swift Sport (the new one) as they available to buy for £16k rather than the £19k at original launch. Now this is a fantastic drivers car, looks brilliant & think better than a Ford (at 960kg kerb weight seriously agile is the Sport swift). My current car is VW Polo BlueGT it's good but cone next change 12months - 18months think being going Suzuki. Seeing as VW not going to be offering a 1.5TSI "Evo" 150ps with manual as my 1.4TSI 150ps manual another reason the Swift Sport as it's newer design but pretty much the formula I have now. Don't like the 1.0TSI Polo's don't think would ever find funds for the Polo GTI.

    • @smash461986
      @smash461986 5 років тому

      Fair comment though wouldn't go as far as calling it boring. The car in appearance is beautiful imo but the engines are lacking a good 20bhp. I do find the base model Polos to be a bit dull tbh but the R-Line and GTI are nice. It feels safe to be in and as I'm not on the road to race then it does its job perfectly.

    • @superflea72
      @superflea72 5 років тому

      how many kays were on these lame Polos you've driven? as a previous owner who gave the car to my son as his first car, I can assure you that at around 20k, the engine suddenly loosens up and becomes more lively. I've never driven a Fiesta, but having a quick look on Carsales shows me that from a price perspective, the Ford is behind (like for like). In addition to this, the equivalent Fiesta looks like a retarded jelly-bean.
      as you say, each to their own, but I know where my money would be going.

      @superflea72: My sister has a 2012 Polo Vivo which I drove when it was brand new and on occasion every now and then over the years, I’ve also driven my friends 2014 regular Polo with the same 1.4 engine that car had over 50 000km and it still feels just as gutless, I also thoroughly dislike the clutch actuation and gearbox, they feel identically crap to me on both my sister’s as well as my friends car. The clutch has absolutely no feel whatsoever, it just feels like I’m pressing a pedal that isn’t actually connected to anything, it’s just linear all the way through, no feedback whatsoever and the gearbox feels like a pipe in a rubber donut.
      It’s not to my taste, maybe it because I’m used to my Fiesta ST, however I also drive a manual Hilux and that has a much better feeling clutch and gearbox compared to the Polo, I’ve also driven bog standard basic 1.4 Fiestas as rental cars and they feel almost as fun to drive as my full fat ST, the Fiesta just has a much more dynamic element to the whole driving experience.
      Both my sister and my friend seem to like their Polos so I suppose it appeals to some, however if I were given a manual Polo for free I’d immediately sell it and buy something else, I personally don’t like any aspect of a manual Polo one bit, gutless, wired gearbox and clutch as well as being way too soft in the corners, it’s just not for me. I’d also never buy an auto/dsg, I’m a manual man all the way.
      Also side note, I really can’t stand the sound of the starter motors on the Polos, especially when they’ve gotten on in years, I know it’s a weird complaint but there’s something about the pitch of the sound or something that just irritates me, I can’t explain it.
      I’m glad you’re happy with your Polo, it’s a good thing we don’t all fancy the same thing, life would be pretty boring if everyone drove the same car.
