    water washes the oil from the bearings they will then also rust and the motor will fail

      Doesn't matter.. I got a ton of these motors.., maybe some day after it rusts I'll do a video trying to power it up again :D

      @@drainman12 I'm glad you like the videos. The reason I haven't done new videos lately as my Canon battery doesn't hold a charge long enough to do a video for more than a few minutes (it's 12 years old now) and there's too many fake replacements that claim much higher mAh ratings only for people to come back and say its like 1/2 of the original which is 1000mAh. A proper Canon replacement is around $100, so not sure its worth spending $100+ on a 12 year old camera. I've also been busy with other things, however I do have several videos that I want to do if I ever get the camera situation sorted out.

    why no short circuit?

    • @HL4EHalfLife
      @HL4EHalfLife  3 роки тому +1

      The water is a lot less conductive than touching two wires together, adding salt would increase this conductivity but still would not be a direct short. I suggest you go check out Electroboom for a way better explanation on this.

      Electricity takes all possible paths.
      Water is a possible path but it's resistance is high. Minerals and salts in water may reduce water's resistance. And nost if not all the wires are coated with insulation which as the name implies prevents current from flowing into the water. If there is a terminal qere the wires got and the terminal's metal is exposed to air, then when submerged those small sections of metal may conduct but current but water is still a relatively poor conductor.
