UPDATE MARCH 26: Wow - Meg's Grove has reached 1,368 trees!! The support has been overwhelming - THANK YOU! The prize draw has taken place and the winner, Mrs Doyle, chose this print from Glen Coe in Scotland: baxter.photos/shop/flow-of-the-coe/ Thank you for watching! I never ask for shares but this video, it's message and project is very important to me and others, so I'd wholeheartedly appreciate the word being spread. Many thanks in advance for your support! Please also leave a comment - let me know what you think or share that you've donated :-)
I am a citizen of the USA. I would like to donate to Meg's Forest, but I'm not sure if the donation site accepts foreign contributions. Does it? Will the "Do Not Reclaim My Tax on the Donation" box allow me to donate?
Brilliant video mate. An important message indeed. Always fantastic to see Joe Cornish on camera, having looked up to him for years he is an inspirational guy and definitely got me thinking more about the environment and the responsibility we have as landscape photographers......He’s so good on camera too. I’m really pleased he came on your channel. I am sure he won’t mind me saying but he spoke very highly of you too.
In the last 3 months I have been binge watching thousands of UA-cam videos from photographers across the UK and I can say without a doubt, this is the most awe inspiring and thought provoking of them all. I know it was shot over 5 years ago, but this is nothing short of brilliant. Meg's Grove has just got two more trees.
Unbelievable mate. Fantastic cause! Delighted to support this! Amazing video. Very well said indeed. Hope this message spreads! Drone footage was so stunning 😊❤️👍🏻
Yet another superb video with a bonus, Joe Cornish. Nice to see your passion and giving us the ability to donate so such a worthy cause. I will be happy to join the others in planting a tree.
Hey Simon, I love your videos, and this one, in particular, resonates with me. My wife and I have hiked into the outback weekly for the past forty years, and it's where we have always drawn our inspiration, found solace, and recharged the batteries that daily life can occasionally run down. I can't under-state the value of the natural world in my life, and I am sure my wife feels the same way. Although I live and work in Canada's north, my roots lie in the UK and I fully support your effort to preserve the forest. Both my wife, and I will be donating to your cause! By the way, Joe Cornish was an inspiring guest. His imagery, like yours, is awesome!
Great video, Simon. My wife and I set up a grove a few years ago adding trees for members of our family and for special occasions - births, anniversaries etc - it feels like such a positive and long-lasting way to appreciate something and contribute to the environment as well.
Great video Simon and an important message with a worthy cause to support - thanks for raising awareness and providing the opportunity to support Treest for Life. Really happy to support Meg’s Grove.
My sister is one of the patrons of Trees for life - they do great work. Talking of great..... that Beech tree (Fagus sylvatica) behind Joe was an absolute corker, magnificent. Scots Pine are wonderful in Caledonia, but in Surrey they are quite invasive, so it was a real joy to see you with a beech. This weekend I was at the Meavy Oak in Darmoor, another true veteran
Wow, that was beautiful. Love the message of this video. Oh, I love Joe and his work. Have watched many of his videos. First stumbled onto him with the Lee Filter series. Great video as usual Simon. Always excited to see you have put up another one.
Out of all the myriads of You Tube Landscape Photographers, my dear Simon, you have the deepest heart and most intimate sense of awe that so easily comes across to us, the viewers. What others gain in mega-subscriptions to their channel you have stayed a "trueheart" to the world and wonder of landscape photography. I, and I am sure many others, will journey with you as you create on a genuine level an exploration of nature and how our souls are weaved by it's presence in and around us.
I feel you are very rapidly becoming one of my favourite photographers, I admire your work. your calm nature in your videos. The footage you shoot for them is so cinematic and beautiful. I've even sent my parents to your channel as they enjoy watching for the beautiful way you capture nature. P.s now i'm not only jealous of you for having an epic pup like Meg, but to be able to refer to Joe Cornish as a friend. Me and my papa, used to look at his books when i was young and talk about all the photos, lots of happy bonding moments are due to his books.
For me, this is your best video! I love how much emotion is in here. It is something close to your heart and you see that in this video. It is a really important message too and I agree that we as photographers have great responsibility. I always pick up other people's garbage and I try to convince my friends and customers to do the same thing. The Earth is amazing and together we can keep it that way for future generations!
Spot on Simon! Perhaps on of the best presentations I’ve seen or heard, to-date, with respect to giving back and being an active role in conserving our great places (and by sheer muscle memory, perhaps those other places around the globe that are often overlooked).
Great video Simon as always. There is something special about this one that encompasses our responsibilities especially when we are out and about. Well worth watching and sharing. Great work with Megs Grove. Woodland trust I know a fair bit about as a dear friend introduced me to them some years back. Not heard of Trees for Life, I will check that out. Also, we will definitely be donating more to Meg's Grove. Cheers Simon, Shared.
I honestly rarely watch You Tube but I have enjoyed watching your channel in the last few days. I find it uplifting to see fellow photographers wanting to give back, in any way. A great cause and happy to contribute, good luck with the project Simon, I look forward to seeing updates in the future.
Simon, Meg, Joe and exquisite images of the Caledonian Forest - Oh My! What a thoughtful and beautiful ode to a spectacular area as well as a very good cause. Thank you.
Great video Simon thanks for reminding us of what we can take for granted of. Donated 3 trees one in memory of my father who took me camping when I was a kid and showed me the beauty of it all and two trees for my two kids that are growing up every day into something beautiful too. Peace and love and thanks for sharing.
I am really glad that you have raised this issue. There are a lot of landscape photography channels out there, but only a few that are actually talking about our impact on the natural environment. Good work, and excellent to see Joe Cornish on the video as he is a fantastic landscape photographer. Donated.
Very important message! Portugal is losing all the forest, the fires and the disrespect for nature and forest will destroy what is left! Is very sad! I wish there were many people like you and Joe in this sad country!
This video was so touching and the images are so stunning it made me cry. I may never see this landscape as I live in the states, but I am so grateful to see it through your eyes & camera.
Wonderful video and great message, Simon. My three dogs have each added a tree to Meg's Grove now! I just won't tell them they are over 7000 km away from our home on Vancouver Island.
Great idea Simon, with Tre as the first three letters of my name how could I resist not donating, hugged a tree when I was a lad, great feeling, thanks for taking the time to notice whats happening around us in an evermore frantic world
Very inspiring Simon. Beautifully presented as always, and you are 100% right with everything you say. We together can help preserve these incredible locations. Well done mate Ben
Hi Simon, Fantastic Video. What a superb location it is. What a nice surprise to see Joe Cornish too, he's been a massive inspiration to me for many years. And of course YES I have made a donation. It is an amazing opportunity to be able to be part responsible for making the grove - Thank You Simon 👍 P.S I just noticed 15 dis-likes - They must be the ones leaving the dog mess behind and throwing down their litter👎
Really appreciate your support, Andy! Yes, the thumbs down are a bit baffling to me but it's always going to happen, even when you try to do something selfless.
This has to be one of the best put together videos I've ever seen on UA-cam Simon, it certainly made me feel both inwardly reflective and outwardly inspired at the same time.
Really good video, totally agree . We should all try to protect our environment, especially as nature photographers we spend so much time out in nature.
Simon, To you and Meg's Grove, thank you for addressing this. Extended thanks to Joe as well. It really dosn't matter what area we are from or love the most, it comes down to the reality that if we don't take care of our natural and wild places and teach others in how they may do their part, it will be lost and all will lose. Forest, prairie, stream, mountain, lake or ocean; it doesn't matter. We all need to care for these places now and always. Jim
Outstanding video - one of your best. You can count this American in for 10 trees.....Not only is it helping your part of the world but helping the planet as a whole. We only have one earth....again, thanks for the inspiration. Who knows, I may fly out there to take pics of the trees I got! Steve
Dear Simon, thank you very much for that piece of Art of a video. This is what we have to do, we, lovers of the Nature, protecting and keeping Her safe and unharmed as much as possible. Because we tend to photograph Nature, we must have a special and strong link with Her, so even if we did not choose to, we are some kind of "ambassadors", then let's act as "ambassadors" and get involved in actions to preserve what lived billion of years before us, and will keep going for billion of years further. Our lives are short compared to the surrounding Nature but if each "ambassador" works its duty well one after the other, our chain is then present all along the way ... Thanks again for your amazing content in every videos, that one was stunning. Stephane.
A powerful a thought provoking message, wonderfully articulated. It resonated deeply with me and underpins many of the reasons why landscape photography personally means so much. Its ten for Meg’s grove from me.
Great message Simone , every bit counts . Great to see the master himself Mr Cornish , always a joy to listen to and his images arn't bad either :-) . Joe is such an inspirational photographer and passionate about wild places a bit like yourself . Stunning drone photography too mate .
The world needs more Simon Baxters and Joes . It would be a far better place if the majority of people had your mindsets . I share the same as you both . Thanks for being here and sharing your life/photography !
Thank you Simon for making this video. I really enjoy all of your videos and I am a regular viewer and subscriber. My wife and I are planning to come to Great Britain, from Canada in the near future to explore your area, so I have made a donation of 10 pounds to help with this cause. Keep up the great work! Keith & Karen Pinn, Barrie, Ontario, Canada
This is my kind of conservation, so well done. It's always a treat to look at Joe's photography! I'm up in Scotland at the moment, but I will be donating and sharing when I get home.
I'm so happy that you made this video. I'm a lover of nature first and a photographer second so I really appreciate the effort you have gone to. I will make a donation just as soon as payday arrives. Keep on doing what you do so well :)
Another thoughtful production, and one of the several reasons your work is inspiring, and enjoyable, to so many of us that share your passion. Thank you, as always!
Hello Simon. Your message in your last video is crystal clear and can not be said and written often enough. The contribution by Joe Cornish to your video is a valuable addition. Although I live in the Netherlands, I like to donate trees for life. After all, the Uk is a favorite holiday and photo country for me.
As always thank you for your videos . I made a donation and my only regret is that very probably I will never see these trees ,but I hope others will do and surely they'll enjoy in doing that as I enjoy in looking at your videos and photos.
Wonderful. So you’ve been to my favourite place in winter with a drone too! - but most importantly, some deeply sensible words. I had the same thought about “giving back” a few weeks ago - with the result of adding an “ethics” page on my website including links to causes (obviously including TfL). Much support from me.
I absolutely love this. As someone who comes from a temperate rain forest of British Columbia. Forests/ woodlands are so incredibly important for our eco-systems. My friends and I have a strict policy of "leave no trace", when camping, hiking etc. If we see trash even if it's not ours, we take it with us. Our planet is in such a fragile state right now, we all need to do more.
10 more trees from us! This is a very important message and one that is not repeated frequently enough, we're responsible for how we leave this planet after we're long gone.
Great episode Simon. Great to see you with Joe Cornish- such a master craftsman. I have shared it on my FB photography page. (Well worth sharing) as always.
Shared on my Facebook feed Simon. A very powerful message, delivered beautifully in this video. Good luck with #MegsGrove. I am sure it will be a splendid addition to the landscape it shares :)
Indeed understanding what draws us to an image, allows us to also what exactly we are trying to transmit, to communicate. Something more than just maybe a pretty picture.
Your video conveys a very important message and conveys it well. If we treat the landscape with respect and tread lightly upon it then with luck we secure it's future for the benefit of ourselves and all other sentient beings. As usual your video gets a big thumbs up from me.
Excellent work Simon, I really enjoyed it from start to finish, the drone footage was awesome and it was really cool to hear your chat/interview with Joe Cornish. I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment about the natural environment, well done and thank you, Del.
Just stunning and my new favorite video of yours. I'm looking forward to seeing some images of "Meg's Grove"! Keep up the great work, it's much appreciated.
Thanks Simon for giving us all an opportunity to give a little something back to the environment and landscape that we all so enjoy. I will never see Meg's Grove come to maturity but maybe a grandchild or member of a future generation might walk though it, be inspired by it and even maybe take an image. The world has become such an 'immediate' place, few people think in the long-term in their daily lives, for our leaders and politicians the future is just a few years until the next election. But, it's important that we all take a much longer-term view of our planet and the environments within it and take collective decisions and shared responsibility for it's safe keeping.
I was quite emotional watching this video. You're an inspiration Simon, you're right, all those trees we see today will be gone in a few decades unless we do something about it and you are making that difference, a credit to you. I will be donating also as it is of course a worthy cause. I clean the beach beside me once a month after a high tide and plant marram grass to keep the dunes from eroding and the community does this monthly as well down further along the shores on the other side of the river. It feels good to see everyone work together removing all the plastic that washes up giving the marine life a wee chance. I hope the donations will help the forests to keep thriving for the children in the future to see. The very best of luck with it all.
Donation made Simon, what a great cause and one that is close to my heart. More than a pleasure to help out. A great video and it really does highlight something that we should all be concerned with. As a landscape photographer (well I try, at least) and keen fly fisherman the environment is very close to my heart. I'm so glad you've used your platform to spread the word on this ... and Meg's Grove is such a lovely idea, in more ways than one ;) Keep up the good work, and i'll keep watching your videos, and learning from you - thank you.
Good on you for making this. A point well made and not made often enough. Having recently returned to photography with an fresh emphasis on nature and wildlife I'm very aware of the irony in getting up early to drive a petrol car to a spot where I can observe a delicate ecosystem under threat from human induced global warming. We all have to do our part and being conscious, informed and aware is vital.
Even though I live in Atlanta, I have a very special place in my heart for the woodlands of the UK, not just the ones I have visited, but the ones I get to see through videos like yours and so many others. There is a magic to them, like that incredible tree you and Joe were sitting by. Good on you for stepping up and actually doing something! Excellent video! Sean

@@Treydmusicmedia I'm also a US resident, and just donated, no problems!
As @mitymous1 said, it's no problem donating from wherever you are.
Many thanks for your support :)
Love the idea to spend for planting a tree in the Caledonian forest! Just donated ;-) Nice way to give something back to the nature.
Really great idea Simon. We all take from the landscape but don’t often give back. Enjoyed the video 👍

No other landscape photographer sees the story in landscapes the way Simon does. Always a joy to see a new video.
Thank you very much, Jerry :)

Two trees purchased in memorial of my late best friend and my father. Video has been shared. I do appreciate your passion. You are an inspiration.
That's very kind of you. Thank you, Terry!
Wow, that was beautiful. Love the message of this video. Oh, I love Joe and his work. Have watched many of his videos. First stumbled onto him with the Lee Filter series. Great video as usual Simon. Always excited to see you have put up another one.

I really appreciate that Robert! I've been determined to keep it real and true and I'm very grateful for being able to continue this way.
Happy to support this lovely idea, purchased a tree each for my two children and wife. Good luck Simon and Meg!
That's fantastic - thank you!

A beautiful and special video on a topic that should be near to the heart of any landscape photographer, Simon. And, yes, I donated.
Thank you very much, Mr Gouge :)
Great initiative Simon! I hope the grove gives you a sense of fulfilment and mental peace. Maybe I'll be able to see it for myself one day :)
Excellent video with a vital message that was delivered perfectly! Thank you.

You're an amazing person Simon and that was a truely inspirational video. Donation on its way.
Great video Simon as always.

Portugal is losing all the forest, the fires and the disrespect for nature and forest will destroy what is left! Is very sad! I wish there were many people like you and Joe in this sad country!
Sorry to hear you're still losing forest there after the huge fires a couple of years ago :(
This video was so touching and the images are so stunning it made me cry. I may never see this landscape as I live in the states, but I am so grateful to see it through your eyes & camera.

Thanks for the video - nice to see some Mavic Air footage (nicely flown). Subscribed to your channel and donated. Looking forward to your new videos.

Simon Baxter you’re more than welcome. ☺️

Great message. Love trees for life. I've partaken in 2 of their working holidays and they were life changing experiences 😊
That's fantastic. Great work, Kim!
Very admirable cause Simon, I have bought 2 trees, can't wait to visit Megs Grove in future 😁
Great stuff! Many thanks!

Simon, Great message to all! Love your production and your style of the use of your drone.
Another thoughtful production, and one of the several reasons your work is inspiring, and enjoyable, to so many of us that share your passion. Thank you, as always!
So true and wise! Good to remember the larger perspective of nature photography.
Beautiful video and a beautiful message. Thank you for sharing this with everyone and I hope the project does well.

Absolutely brilliant Simon , you are a gentleman and a true inspiration to us , thank you
Truly beautiful in every way.

My friends and I have a strict policy of "leave no trace", when camping, hiking etc. If we see trash even if it's not ours, we take it with us. Our planet is in such a fragile state right now, we all need to do more.
Many thanks, Jen! I completely agree with you!
well done and always nice to see support for habitat and forrest restoration and preservation
10 more trees from us! This is a very important message and one that is not repeated frequently enough, we're responsible for how we leave this planet after we're long gone.
Thank you very much for your generous donation! I hope you enjoyed your second day at Laskill!
Simon, This was really nice to watch and so very important. It was great that you had Joe Cornish with you as well to share these thoughts. Thank You!
I’m glad someone else sees the world the way I do. Well done Simon, amazing video. When I get paid tomorrow I’ll be buying some trees!
That's great! Thank you!
Beautiful video mate, great cause!
Many thanks for sharing :)
Fanatic video here Simon. We take so much from Mother Earth. You’re right. Let’s give some back too!! 🙏🙏
This donation is one of the easiest decisions I've had to make! Thank you for taking the initiative!
Many thanks :-) Hope you're keeping well and your cameras dry ;)
@@SimonBaxterPhotography I am! My camera has needed CPR a couple of times but has survived ;)
Hope you and Meg are doing well!
Excellent work Simon, I really enjoyed it from start to finish, the drone footage was awesome and it was really cool to hear your chat/interview with Joe Cornish.
I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment about the natural environment, well done and thank you, Del.
What a fantastic video, the subject matter was spot on. So many reason to be out and connecting with the environment. 10/10
Just stunning and my new favorite video of yours. I'm looking forward to seeing some images of "Meg's Grove"! Keep up the great work, it's much appreciated.
Thank, Simon. Great video.
This is truly awesome.
Many thanks for your words of support, David! Hope you are keeping well!
Thank you very much for sharing your support and the things you do to help. Much appreciated!
Very much appreciated, Jim :)
Happy to support your initiative with a donation for some trees. Enjoyed watching the video, love the drone footage. And Meg :-)
Really appreciate your generous donation, Henk! Thank you!
Excellent. Thanks for sharing.
Great message and a fantastic video. I enjoyed the interview!
An inspiring presentation.
Great video and message Simon.
Wow, you got my favourite landscape photographer on your video - Thanks and for that have a couple of trees!
It's much appreciated :)
Sean
Thank you, Sean! Hope you're well :)
