Unfortunately DL came out very late in the season that year and she didnt have the momentum to get her over the line. The Accused is mainly a forgotten movie, alhthough very good performances, but a bit of a conscious choice by the Academy.....Glenns last three scenes in DL should have got her the award alone!
I just don't understand what the Academy has against Glenn Close. She should have won an Oscar decades ago for Fatal Attraction and they just screwed her AGAIN. I just don't' get it.
I read it would be because she's not so beautiful and their roles tend to have a thing of feminism . She often plays strong women . This is not well accepted by the men who run the Academy .
