the 2012 best actress video is missing so..
i just finished watching the movie for the first time 5 minutes ago , and when i heard "Go Now" plays at the end then the screen cut to black i was on the verge of tears cause it implies that their marriage is over . Outstanding film!
What is the name of this song?
The academy must be ashamed of themselves.
Starting out okay but WTF
Charlotte Rampling is utterly tremendous in this scene, but the film ends so cruelly against her for no reason. It is a tragedy and Rampling leaves us with a tour de force.
Glen close is a star. She does not need a oscar. Ryan r
I dont say this about many actors but she played alex to absolute perfection. Never seen acting so good
Glen close is a fine actress. Fatal attraction was superb. Hollywood is so unreal when it comes down to awards.
Fatal Attractions still haunts people to this very day. I barely remember anything about Moonstruck.
She was pregnant the year she was nominated for fatal attraction. During the fight scene, she discovered she was pregnant early on and almost risked her baby just because she didn’t know at first. But her baby was fine and grew up
To then go the Moody Blues Go Now over the credits (the music she has requested eariler) - thats it. Its over. He will go. The end. She cant pretend another moment.
Ooo, I don't know. Mrs. Carmody is kind of an iconic role. Kind of like Dermot Mulroney as Dirty Steve Stephens in Young Guns.
That moment when you realise that the person you love has always been in love with someone else...........
Lesson learned: Make sure you don't marry someone who was in love with someone else.
Very true......but sometimes we don't realise the truth until it is too late.
Has anyone found the script or screenplay for this online, like a legit one and not just text of the dialogues?
I love Charlotte Rampling
0:50 Geraldine Page losing for the 7th time.
Amazing scene! Heartwrenching!
Great acting is done with no words!
I was in this room today
cher in moonstruck... come on
Still don't know why she didn't win for Dangerous Liaisons.
The way she lets go of his hand and begins to subtly cry, touches me in so many ways. A masterpiece about the doubt of what it really means to love and feel loved.
She was fantastic in dangerous liasions. She should have won.
I knew that the Oscars were a complete joke, and popularity contest, when she lost to Cher. Let's just be honest now, that fake, Brooklyn accent did not even come close to holding a candle to what Glenn did and the way in which she inhabited the role of Alex Forrest.
Her smile fading every year.
Is Cher an actress ?
She probably resisted the casting couch, on several occasions.
Treated her like she's Black. Sad. I think. Lol
No kid, and that's on him.
How is that on him citizenbobx? Jackson Pollock was no doubt deeply troubled but for a good two years or so he was sober and maybe becoming a parent would have helped him quit drinking for good. Maybe.
That maybe would only go far with no money or resources in an era where your wife really couldn’t work or provide for the marriage financially
I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE NAYSAYERS? GREAT MOVIE, IMO.
A new favorite movie, and the ending is perfect…I’d be there on visiting days too, he’s worth it
This movie took me by surprise at the end
Poor Glenn Close, The Oscars ignored her. Well, she's too good to receive an Oscar.
Honestly I wonder how it could have been a surprise win..... So obvious she gave the best performance!!!
She was a surprise nominee that year, a late surge, and no precursors support that's why she was considered as a surprise winner.
@@dobazajr Yeah That's what I mean like how could they ignore a performance like this for so long they did..... This shouldn't have been a surprise! But thank god it happened!
She's an awful person to wait on in the service industry (I know from personal experience) so I don't feel bad about her losing so much lol. given how she treated us, the evil roles she plays are not much of a reach for her. She basically IS Patty Hewes from "Damages."
really? never really read of or heard of of such a thing about her before. would you mind expounding?
The SNL promo sent me here
Aubrey Plaza does such a great job in this scene. I can hardly recognize her. Bravo.
😂
Came here from Tik Tok hahaha
They look literally nothing alike. Also Plaza couldn't act on this level to save her life.
😳@@breeeegs
Que injusticia para glenn close!! Ella es una actriz brillante
Haven't even watched this film in years and I can still feel the emotion heavy watching this scene. Amazing acting. God bless Charlotte
Jodie foster over Glenn in 1989 😸😸😸 what a joke @academy @oscars @theacademy
Jodie foster still a tremendous actress compared to Cher in moonstruck.
Again in Albert Nobbs, The Wife, and Hillbilly Elegy..Its a shame that one of the greatest actress of her time has yet to be rewarded by her peers.
She got robbed so bad.
One of the best movie endings of all time. Thank you Mr. Schrader and Oscar Isaac. I whished more us movies would be Like the Card counter. Masterpiece 🙏❤️
Bresson’s Pickpocket again. Even the Better Call Saul ending borrowed it.
I just laughed out loud when I watched the ending. What a joke. It baffles me to think that someone that was involved in Taxi Driver did something like this.
Are you aware that Schrader has made many films since his Taxi Driver script? And he has used this Robert Bresson ending many times before.
@@SoulStylistJukeBox Oh man that sounds even worse :/ I mean, I wouldn't mind a scene like this if at least the characters would've had chemistry together but man, ending it like this feels like the final nail in the coffin.
@@doppelgangerblackscarf178 Yeah, I was really disappointed with The Card Counter.
I liked ,I guess you have to be in the mood, WATCH a Movie not because it is Martin's, But because You have so many to choose from.
this film is actually a ghost haunting film similar to rebecca.
Yes! I never thought of that before, but great observation.
Esta escena es dolorosa. Demasiado dolorosa. Representa el darse cuenta de toda una vida de mentiras. Darse cuenta que todo el amor que pensaste que alguien sentía por ti nunca existió realmente. Y el amor es lo único por lo que el ser humano realmente vive… y anhela tener.
we are PAINters jackson.
Great movie.
