  • Getting a baby’s tongue ready for release is just as important as the release itself. There are multiple exercises that can help prepare the baby to improve tongue range of motion, strength and coordination. These are not one size fits all. Always make sure to work with a local IBCLC lactation consultant or skilled occupational or speech therapist if tongue tie has been identified.
This video is mean for education purposes only. Exercises should be done under the direct supervision of a trained therapist or IBCLC as the needs of every baby are different.

May I know this exercise can fo on a newborn? Usually newborn will not really engage with us so attentively, right?

Okay, how do I get baby to be calm enough to let me do this? Mine screams all the time and I can't get any of these exercises in before she's always thrashing and swinging her arms

Can you still do these exercises after frenectomy? Or will it not be as effective

@@lalactation will it still have the same results/be helpful if I didn’t do it before the release?

If zippers are not safe then baby clothes wouldn't have them

Babies have been raised forever without this ridiculous stuff. I hope you are not paying her for that. I have never seen anything so ridiculous

That's so ignorant. My babies don't suck properly. Infant mortality rate has decreased greatly because of techniques like this. Back in the day, babies who have trouble breastfeeding often died from not getting enough nutrition.

@britanymurphy1037 back in the day as you say...we didn't breast feed. We couldn't go around with our breast's hanging out everywhere like you girls do today. We had modesty and morals.
