    really nice work. You clearly show the strength and power of python. I'm not surprised SQL is the top skill. many jobs are listed as data analyst but all the company is really looking for is someone to use SQL and get the data from different source systems and then use some kind of BI tool like tableau, power BI, SSRS etc.... to build a report. Python would be used more in a data science role which def have less people than a job requiring you to write sql code and build basic reports

    such a cool video. I did the Google Data Analytics course but wasn't sure I wanted to become a Data Analyst. What really excites me with Data is what you did in this video - automation, efficient workflows and just a tone of time saving wizardry. Some really useful info here too and noticing your editing skills are taking on a Vox like sytle which definitely work. Big thumbs up!

    • @GarthVader78

      Hi Dan, I've just started module 2 of the Google Analytics course. How valuable did you find it at your actual job of data analysis? Did it teach you what you need to actually start on day 1 at a job, is there anything more you suggest I learn?

    • @danquixote6072
      @danquixote6072 7 місяців тому

      @@GarthVader78 Sorry if i gave the wrong impression, in the end I decided that Data Analytics wasn't for me - so didn't apply for any data analytics jobs. I really enjoyed the course and enjoy learning about data, but most of the jobs I looked at were emphasising Excel skills and I just didn't fancy sitting in front of a spreadsheet all day analysing sales of lipstick or bed springs. We are going through a really exiciting time right now though with AI and it will be interesting to see the impact of that on a typical Data Analysit role. If you are doing the original course, and not the advanced course, one recommendation I'd make is when you learn R - find out how you do that in Python too. And I'm sure they mention it, but get started with your project's portfolio asap. I wish I had done more with that.

    Hey @LukeBarousse! I am just learning Python myself now (about 25% of the way thru it) from udemy and it's been great. It's a great class, but I am curious about something. I am struggling to figure out how and when to use those concepts currently. For example, I know how to use while loops or I know how to create classes with attributes and methods, but what I'm struggling with is how to know when to use those for projects. Does this just come with time and practice or does that fact I don't know that mean I have yet to completely absorb the lesson? I guess a simpler way to say that is my questions aren't about the code itself and how it works, it's the application of it. When practicing I am struggling with looking at it and going "Oh yes, of course, I need to use this and that, and put one of these in here". Does that make sense? I am hoping that will just come with more and more practice and real world application, but I don't know.

    Hey Luke, just found your videos.
    I'm a data analyst but my company's (non profit) definition of data analysis is sadly behind the times, and I am trying to broaden my skills and tools so that I can further my team's ability to handle our data as the company grows. I have been studying python, SQL, R, and Tableau (trying to keep it all free because my company aint sponsoring this), but the lessons are so scattered because these tools are used for so many different roles and tasks, especially python which I like the most.
    When you are demonstrating how you use Python I see you doing things like data cleanup, importing data, seeing tables, etc. Can you put together a slowed down, and more detailed version of these steps, or point me/us in a direction on where to learn these specific tools/modules (Free or cheap)

    Sir, I feel like subscribing to your channel is the proudest subscription of my entire existence in UA-cam.
    I’m actually a L&D professional from Morocco and I’m trying to steer my career to data & business analytics and really need guidance.
    Thanks for the very cool story though!

    Thanks for the great video. Do you know how to create data models in Python if you are working on more than 1 dataframe/tables, like in Power BI data modelling?

    hey Luke, i love your videos. i wanna ask something, can we find the keyword skills, like python, sql, excel, etc, automatically using maybe word cloud(?) or we should define the keywords manually? I hope you answer my question, thanks!

    • @LukeBarousse
      @LukeBarousse  Рік тому

      Yeah you can use wordcloud, but you need to define the keywords manually (or build some sort of ML model to pull them out). There are so many filler words that will show more frequently than these skills and therefore you'll barely see them in the word cloud
