6RAR King's and Regimental Colours Parade

The first King’s and Regimental Colours to be awarded in Australia since the Monarch’s coronation have been presented to the 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (6RAR). The new Colours were formally presented to 6RAR at a parade in Brisbane on 6 June 2023. Historically, the Colours served as a rallying and focal point for the regiment in battle, signifying hope was always present while the Colours remained intact. The Regiment was presented with the Colours by His Excellency, General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) on parade at Gallipoli Barracks. The Regimental Colours include new Theatre honours embroidered on them for Iraq and East Timor, and the Afghanistan Streamer for the Battalion’s second meritorious unit citation.
