The flooding in Worcester has reached record levels, topping the 5.64m the river peaked at in 2007, by 1cm. The river is expected to rise to 5.80m, however the flood defences have been built to 5m 70cm. On Thursday the flood water is expected to go over the flood barriers. The only creatures enjoying this current weather are local swans, they have the run of the town at the moment and are taking full advantage of their new found freedom. Report by Genelle Aldred.

The highest brass plaque at Watergate, Worcester has the following record: 'On November 18, 1770, the flood rose to the edge of this brass plate, being ten inches higher than the flood which happened on October 23, 1672'. In 1947, the flood lapped within half an inch of the brass plate.' 'Record Floods' depend on when your recording begins.
Swans are always over taking Worcester when it floods.
Gotta love our Swans :)

'Take over' Wow...
It's not as if abysmal weather is anything new to us. We will have a lot more flooding, simply move and let nature have us a return to some old geography. It will be more practical and economic to move some people away from flood zones as it is needed in the future I would think?
Rise of the planet of the swans!
Is it in UK? Or USA?
UK. It's my hometown
It says UK in the title. Stupid Americans I stg
Imagine if these floods were to become a yearly occurence? Could cripple an economy that was only just on the mend.

yes nature strikes backs:)
I think it is a number of things, which includes human activity and poor or intentionally poor planning of human habitation into flood plains. Real estate I'd a big business, so is insurance, so there is interest in building anywhere to make money. Be careful where you buy your next house.
