He gets boys and girls from old British kids TV. Where he's featured in a few kids TV shows playing drums and clowning around.
I know that this is a Paiste video (and God knows i love my Paiste cymbals) but can we all just take a moment to appreciate what a work of art that drum kit is? Beautiful finish, custom artwork, spun steel snare and the aged copper hardware... wow.

I've seen this video a few days ago, epic! - He says "reflected" instead of Reflector. Such an iconic character. He's one of the reasons I've chosen Paiste, once I've heard his Hi-Hat in the World Slavery Tour back in the 1980s I knew all my cymbals would be Paiste forever.
Right on! He also said the 602 heavy bell cymbal was B8 but I thought 602's were B20? Unless this was an old-school formula he requested?

Paiste did such an amazing job on the finishes of the cymbals! I really like the look of them. The aged signatures are beautiful and the different take on the RUDE looks fabulous. I still love the original RUDE but paiste might be on to something🤞.

What an absolute legend..! Amazing player, amazing kit and stunning cymbals. I fell in love with Paiste after hearing Nicko on Live After Death, loved the sounds of the cymbals on that recording so have played Paiste ever since. The gong is awesome, and love the 17" Rude in the aged finish too, fantastic 🤓

Had the honour to watch and meet nicko at a drum clinic at the liquid room in Edinburgh in 2005 through my local drum central who endorsed me, and no way he is 71 now ❤🙏🏴🤘

Nicko is a wonderful ambassador for Paiste.
Piece Of Mind had just released when I started taking drum lessons, I played along to that cassette until the tape wore out. Nicko was one of the reasons I wanted to play drums, Dave Lombardo and Alex Van Halen were also huge influences. That's why I always used Paiste cymbals, all my favourite drummers use them. Tama is popular as well, Alex used Ludwig drums mostly but I went with Tama because Dave and Nicko used them.

What’s unfortunate is that the audience won’t be able to see the set during a show. If I’m not mistaken, having seen them twice, they don’t show Nicko and his kit on the large screen. Side note, amazing drummer and phenomenal kit!

*Why PAiSTe doesn’t make these cymbals is beyond me?* Love the look of the darker aged Signature series, the lighter 17” RUDE looks 🤩 awesome w/black logo. I’ve always found the Signatures to be too bright for my tastes. Love the copper cymbal stands w/counter weights. The new drumheads look cool, interesting donut 🍩 dot concept. These brands owe so much to some of these legendary Drummers 🥁! Respect to Nico for giving props to companies he’s worked with for 40-years. 🤘🏻

Ive always wonder with guys who use 4+ crash cymbals (like nikko, sugarfoot, or mudvayne drummer), do they actually know exactly what crash they hit for each part? Or during a crash pattern do they just hit whatever as long as it stays within the beat. Like say in studio, he had a 17"-22"-15"-16" beat. Wonder if he does the exactly everytime or or just hits 4 whatever crashes
Some drummers do but pretty sure Nikko as well as a lot of other (particularly bigger kit/cymbal set up) drummers in fact know each and every one of these different cymbals, where exactly they're located on their setup and this utilize them in said fashion as you described in your statement/question. Hell, I know I do on my set up, and while I definitely don't play anywhere near the largest and most diverse & intricate set up, at the same time my kit isn't very small or basic either. I'd preferably like to expand my cymbal set up by another couple (mainly crashes and/or effects cymbals, and perhaps another set of hi hats somewhere on the right side opposite where my main hats are) but even the way my configuration currently stands as is right now, it's actually quite perfect and adequate for me... Hope maybe that helps, cheers mate
@@hippiesaboteur2556 i like a 3 crash, 3 splash set up. Even when i do just single hits on those i have a specific crash or splash for that certain part of the song and i make sure to use that one every time versus just hitting whatevs

The angle of the ride is so extreme. Would that hurt after awhile?
Right? I don’t know how Nicko doesn’t have bad right shoulder problems after playing it that way for decades.
Also, he is a tall guy but sets his drum chair at very low height. He plays the ride with the stick almost at vertical angle. And his snare is inclined in a not so intuitive angle too. Well, that's Nicko!
How do you hit them toms without hitting the cymbals??? Always baffled me 🤔

All respect to Nicko, but the Paiste Signatures are B15 alloy and only the 602 Heavy Bell is B20 bronze...

I tell u what , nicko is about the most humble, sweetest, politest drummers out there, especially in an old school trend setter band , such as iron maiden , he's literally like the dude next door, you'd drink a beer with. He's so genuine and a gentleman, he's also one of my favorite drummers of all time and plays my favorite cymbals. I'm returning it to u nicko. May God bless u, ty for being such a positive influence

I love Nicko's kits, the artwork is extraordinary, but the way it's arranged is weird for me, can't see him, he can't see over the kit, I need to see everything and have everything lower, still, it's a beautiful kit. They always are.
I gotta be honest, I really preferred the Paiste cymbals with the Iron Maiden font. I like these too, Paiste is the best brand for metal cymbals imho, my top choice is the 2002 Series, Alex Van Halen's top too, but I always liked the Iron Maiden signatures series. I also love the the Colorsound 900s in red like Aquiles Priester, he's got the best kit setup bar none, I've never really been jealous of a drum kit until I saw his metallic white Tama kit with the Colorsound 900s. Just gorgeous.
Never liked the sound of Signature cymbals in person but they record much better.
2002 and the old Sound Formula lines as well as the 602 crashes and Rude hats I like

Hey Nicko, Tell your drum tech the bass drum pedal is a bit too close to your bass drum head. The beater locking bolt is slightly rubbing against the bass drum head. Could cause a serious issue playing live.
Wish you had hit the toms so we can hear how they sound with those heads you are promoting.
Could you gave us some info about the prices you buy these cymbals?It's obvious that the prices for you and for the all other drummers they are not you with your reptutation and the meaning behind that is for sure they buy them far more expensive than you?

I wish bdc would offer an affordable nicko shell pack in 1 or 2 basic colours , i dont mean they should make them as they make nickos drums , but say they make them a cheaply as they can ,along the same specs as a pearl export or a premier apk shell structure, no drum company has ever offered nicko fans something like that , premier promised they would , then out of the blue premier went under and thats that , most drummers cant afford 10 grand for high end shells in nicko sizes , if they could manufacture the whole shell set ( no snare) for 1500 , thousands of us drummers would spend tge money .

I don't understand the setting of that ride symbol. The tom is almost hidden, making it difficult to hit exactly, but I don't know why you insist on that setting
