Blizzard conditions are pounding the Cheyenne area on Sunday with numerous vehicles getting stuck in the area. Snow plows - emergency responders- and pedestrians are all stuck on the roadways around Cheyenne. Good samaritans assisted in getting several out of the roadway so they could get to a warm place during the storm. Winds gusting over 50 mph has reduced visibility to near zero at times. I80 and I25 are closed and impassible with drifts SEVERAL FEET deep along the on & off ramps.

Notice how many are out helping for no other reason then to help..??? I’m proud in be a member of one of the nicest states in America.
Only guys are helping, no women, why?
I found this out, durring my visit ..folk were sooooo friendly and amazing bison burgers as well you folk have..another visit becons
I lived SE Wyoming for several years. Late winter snowstorms and blizzards like this weren't that uncommon. Wyoming natives are used to this kind of weather--and are prepared for it. And, Wyomingites are great people--they just pitch in and help each other and don't spend their time whining about it.
Long time residents..older folks that have seen this in Cheyenne in times past .....when this happens...stayed home..and some of us (younger then) were out on Ski Do's fetching groceries or other needed items for those who could not go out....
I live in a city where people freak out over a rain shower.
This would be the end of humanity over there.
😅🤣🤣😂😂😆😆😇 I'm from Boston
Same here.
Welcome to the Rockies and Wyoming. Norhing abnormal here. We are equipped though it does make for some tough driving conditions.
Best comment on here.
I lived in both upstate New York and Laramie, Wyoming and from my experience, New York was far better at snow removal than Wyoming. Sure Wyoming has to contend more with wind, but in New York almost all side streets were cleared down to the pavement within 2 days after a major storm, while in Wyoming, people were still driving on hard packed snow up to two weeks after a storm. There were also a lot of Wyoming residents that push the snow from their driveways into the middle of the road making the situation worse, at least for cars. I think they do this because they want the snow to be packed down by traffic so that it will not blow back into their driveways, but it is no fun for the driver of a small to midsize car that must push through such a pile when has been newly formed.
@@warrensmith8161... You are full of shit... typical arrogant New Yorker
The blue ford knows how to drive...let him plow!!!
Plowing isn't an easy job. They aren't very experienced at. Sorry they were making many mistakes out there.
I'm thankful I live in a city where they know the money has to be spent to plow constantly, not just when it gets 3 feet deep!
Stay there. We don't want you here.
So Sorry, I live in PA. We only had I blizzard that bad but it was on Christmas Night. I was stuck close to home and good folk stopped to help me! I was so scared and grateful!
Wyoming, where they only have 2 seasons: This winter and last winter.
Rock Springs, here .......true, this
Thats 9 months of winter and 3 months of bad weather.
@@markcharlieblackburn1757 LOL. A kinder description. 😄
I use to like driving in the snow but now I'm 74 and retired and I do my best to avoid it.
If it's snowing and I'm home I'll stay home. If I'm out and about and it looks like the snow might stick I'll go home. If I'm away from home, I'll find the nearest motel and stay off the road untill the plows get them cleaned up. I don't want to get stuck and I don't want someone running into my vehicle and totaling it.
Las Vegas NV @ 4:15 pm it's 68 degrees.
Stay home weather unless you have the equipment to handle it. The dump truck needs chains.
And some weight .I can't believe no chains
It has height it is carrying almost 1ton of sand
And so does our tractors here on the place. But teams of horse's and sleighs are doing ok to feed the cattle.
Unbelievable that plow was out with no chains probably had summer tires to lol
Dump truck needs all wheel drive and good snow tires. What good is a rear wheel drive plow truck.
That's deep and still snowing
Sammy Hagar's new winter hit: "I Can't Drive (without) 4WD!"
Beautiful Snow
I live in Minnesota... I feel your pain!
Why were people out when they knew this was coming?
Because people like driving in it. I think it's tourist mostly. Most Wyomingnite stay home.
(Pre Covid) I tried to travel to my northern clients at least once in the winter to drive in the snow. I spent 5 weeks in Mason/Cincinnati last January and February. It was 17 degrees when I landed. We had 1/4 inch of snow and probably 2 inches of rain while I was there. I left Clearwater Beach for fun in the snow, er rain:-(((
The dumptruck was like "I new they should of bought the chevy" 😂
He must b having fun 🙏😔pray for those stuck n the snow storms....👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
This would armageddeon if it happened in Texas.
Just another winter day in the north....
@@user-sn3ek4vj2j Not really. The populated areas of Texas only had up to 16” and it was over the span of a week. This is 30-40 inches in 2 days.
@@tnut3305 ah. Good point. My bad lol.
@@user-sn3ek4vj2j no it didn't. I know some Texans that have moved here to Wyoming. And some of them are ready to head back to Texas. The hard chargers want to learn from it.
@@williamsteed5409 yeah did you not see my reply post saying my bad? Idk why I was thinking that when I posted that. They did have the loss of power and negative temps tho. 🤷♀️
Man cheyenne got hammered. My house only got 22 inches and shoveling the heavy snow was still a nightmare! Stay safe out there
Yay looks like the late 70s
Oh I would love to experience that beautiful weather
I'm so happy my son beat this storm last night.
( Just ) For you that didn't be safe 💙
The Dodge Caravan driver must have a learner's license. Spins his/her wheels when the 4x4 pulls him out. Never seen snow in Wyoming? Or just never seen winter before?
Stuck snowplow!?! Holy cow!
@@JohnZ0805 👍
lol... masked up while outside in a snowstorm ... MASK UP!!! and comply with the Beast. . .
Cold just watching it.
Get home and stoke up the fire.
Mine is going great gun's.
1:05 Nice Truck! Clam-shell blade on front and a blade on the REAR! SWEET!
Ford for the win!
I believe that they are called chains...ever hear of them?
Some states banned them
@@mikebrostlove13 really some states did ban them? Here in Wyoming I make sure that my chains are in my tool box in September and they don't come out of my trucks until about the middle of April. I didn't know thanks POWDER RIVER LET'ER BUCK GO POKES.
@@williamsteed5409 exactly Wyoming people have tire chains in our trucks all the time.
Apart from chains, which are great, you have so many transplants who don't know how to drive (I was going to say "in snow" but I'll leave it there), have all-weather tires, don't heed warnings, think their invincible, and ... i could get mean so I'll stop there.
Lord Bless You For Helping Those Stuck.
Get your Teslas ready boys......
LoL love it. When they make a Honda Prius that will pull my 22foot gooseneck stock trailer then I may think about getting rid of my Dodge 1 ton. Oh who am I kidding I won't. Stay safe and warm tonight my fellow westerner's. POWDER RIVER LET'ER BUCK GO POKES.
What kind of collapsible strap that blue Ford F-250 had? That is great to have for sure!
Time for the city and AF base to go in together on a few snow groomers ie, snow cats.
Back in 1976-78 while stationed at F.E. Warren, blizzards came through every March just about this same time. Spent three days in the dorms waiting for it to end
this is the best time to
be out driving around ✊
Weather man.. stay home!!! Karen.. I have to have my Starbucks!!!
So Cracker Jacks has Driver Licenses for Prizes again! Good to know.
A snow plow without tire chains! Wow . . . . . "hey watch this!"
😀😂
Lol, that's a good one!
Hello Cheyenne. Welcome to Canada
This is not an uncommon occurrence in Wyoming.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wet snow.....the WORST!!
The quietness...nice
Had to go get that subway sandwich, didn't you.
Oh boy. Our Wyoming life has cattle. He knew it was coming. Stay safe.🇺🇸🙏👍
Only to see a 1923 wooden wheel model a Ford chug threw. Technology kills
I was stationed at F.E. Warren '75-81. One severed blizzard on Thanksgiving we had dinner with a neighbor because we couldn't get down to our church. Pretty much gone the next day and we could get around in our VW Rabbitt.
Wyoming get this every year🧐👀 right or am I missing something here... 😂
Yes it's very common especially this time of the year.
It hasn’t dropped this bad in Cheyenne for a long time. 2007 I think was the last one that shut the whole town down.
Used to be a lot worse than what is going on right now.
Yep, happens once every few years. This storm is particularly bad because it is super moisture dense, making it very sticky and heavy. It's been barely above freezing most of the storm so it is the opposite of powder. It is so clumped together that it has been very difficult to wade through. If it were 5 degrees colder there would have been even more in terms of depth.
Chains! After so deep tho it doesn't matter lol
God bless all those who HELP!!
Wowwwww! Be safe!
Folks, this is beautiful weather ya'll are having. 90 degrees here in Charleston South Carolina.
FORDS ARE AWESOME HAD ONE FOR YEARS!!!
We know it, anything much over 6 inches deep of snow, transports gonna have problems, and it shows how I'll equipped/ unprepared road users are when the going gets tuff.
If you're lucky to have a plough go by that's great, otherwise make an effort, get chains on, .... 30mph is better than zero and stuck!
If it gets too bad, just call it a day and stay home!
Be safe out there.
If he had a plow on that truck technically he'd be a knight in shiny armor.
I’ve never seen a snow plow truck get stuck before
It wasn't bad at all in Green River. Maybe 5 inches. Thankful for that. Stay safe and warm.
That is the most intense snowstorm I've seen in a while.
Good job you guys. Your city appreciates your efforts. Wish it were easier to figure out how to plow intermittently (even during the snow) so that the snow doesn't pile up that even the plows get stuck 🤔...
"It's beginning to look alot like Christmas".
Lifetime Floridian so what do I know.. BUT, aren't you supposed to have chains or something like that on tires for grip if u plan on driving thru heavy snow?
That’s right boys and girls , no more 4 seasons , now only 2 ,construction and winter , time to get your winter legs on . Keep safe from northern Iowa, disabled army vet !
Ya I heard of winter storms this time of year, even in April
Just like the 1982 Minnesota snow storm, I was not able to open front or back doors, all windows got snow covered for 24 hours more. We so fearful that the single house roof collapsed any time when snow became wet. Snow that year was the most memorable.
Next year try using TRACKS, I hear they are good in the snow.
Time to call it quits when the snow plows are getting stuck.
The driver of the Ford truck is a great driver!
Ok what’s this cable he’s using and where donO buy it????
People need to keep their butts at home, what about that dont they understand.
Somebody was showing theirs in this video! He’ll be proud all the world sees it....
not really. If u need to go somewhere essential, you throw on a pair of chains and do what u need to do
Sometimes you just can't be stopped by the situation. Livestock still needs to be fed. Chores still need to be done. It wasn't that long ago that people would string a rope from say the barn to the house and from other outbuildings around the place. Because during a blizzard they could just hold on to the rope and follow it home. One of my Dad's brothers died about 300yds north of our barn during a blizzard in the 20's. He just couldn't find his way home. God bless. POWDER RIVER LET'ER BUCK GO POKES.
I live in Cheyenne and we were diggging and helping people out all day, it’s definitely insanity
Good for you, brother. That's called being neighborly.
@@marktwain368 thing is it’s extremely rare here
Live Storms Media what camera was used for filming.
Thank goodness I got through there before this hit.
We used to chain up for this kind of stuff. Lived in CO for 33 years. Why isn't anyone putting on chains?
I wish Cheyenne had the budget and manpower to plow early and often when a huge storm is forecasted.
I don't miss that. Was last there in June of 2011.
I very happy that I am not there.
Seems to me, where snowplows are used every year, they’d have half-tracks ?
Is this a nice place to live? I'm tired of Nashville. Too many dang people here now.
Y own a van up there ?
WHY doesn't the snow plow drop his blade whenever it FIRST starts moving??
Just came through here two weeks ago on way back to Texas from family visit to Montana looks like I made it just in the nick of time
And I was complaining about it getting “down” to 40 tonight!
Minnesota got a snow storm October 20th 2020. Thankfully it melted quickly.
This happened 3-14-2021? Where is this place?
Always thought those big gates on I-80 were decorations for holidays,or trap in those who won't stop for the Po Lice.
Now you all know why we all drive Ford F-150s, 250s etc.
4Runners
Any big truck would be better off than what you saw getting stuck in this video. There’s nothing inherently great about a Ford in snow. Lol
Tire studs and chains, let the good times roll...I use v-bar chains they will dig a hole up until the axle bottoms out..
WTF would anyone be trying to drive in 3ft of snow? Why do human think they are more powerful than Nature. Kudos to first responders, plow drivers. and four wheelers who helped rescue the goobers
No one has more wind than Cheyenne, Wyoming.
feels like home, wishing i were with you
What is an "SOT"?
Should be a training school for non snow people....🤦♀️
Everyone on useless summer tires. Get some blizzaks, on any car will do wonders.
Not in this snow. I do snow removal out here and this is an insane storm!
@@saltylegion6288
That's a heckuva job you have! I'm wondering: Why are these folks out in this?
@@saltylegion6288 Yeah, this is really wet snow, and that can make it hard even with good tires and a 4x4 vehicle. Still, most people do run regular all-seasons even during the winter up here, and that causes a lot of people to have trouble when better tires would get them home.
@@factsoverfiction7826 I dont know. I question people's decisions all the time! Lol. I even got stuck over a dozen times trying to get my customers taken care of. I'll still have a couple days of work after today! I will say I sure appreciated the guys cruising around with their lifted diesel trucks today. They helped me out a few times today. I guess this is going down as our 3rd largest snowfall ever!
@@saltylegion6288 I have an old rear wheel drive Volvo (brick) with Blizzaks on and while I admit that looks pretty deep, but I have driven many km on unplowed service roads with snow catching the bumper. I admit it's hairy and one can't stop on an uphill, but so far I haven't needed anyone to pull me out.
The difference of a good snow tire is night and day- MY gf's RWD volvo brick has Hakkapelliita 9 copies, same thread design, diff manufacturer, and it sucks compared to original Hakka or Blizzak.
STAY HOME--THE WEATHERMAN SAID THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN---STUPID IS STUPID--
Looks like what we got in Colorado
Chains???
WOW !!!
Thanks for sharing, Get the Weather Photos. Brian Koller
...............It's insane....!!......but my baby needs to know that "I Can Still Make Cheyenne"....
the one question I have is why the hell are these people out in this when they could and should be off the roads sitting home with a fire going this is nuts
Chains? Nah.
Must ...get ...Pumpkin ...Spice ...Late
