- Sorry for the low quality video and one-handed recording, but I think it might be useful for non-experienced folks like me who likes to repair their own stuff.
This video was great. I repaired my helmet and it fully retracts. Good video
My visor no longer automatically retracts so either the spring broke or it came off of one of the ends. In order to retract it, it takes two hands, one to press the retractor button and one to slide. It is manual. Can't easily retract it while riding, but it's kinda functional. But, I think I might take things apart to have a look. Especially since I just put in all new liner pads. Thank you for the video. It gives me confidence to give it a try.
Yeah, go for it. You don't have to be super mechanically inclined to fix this. Most likely the spring just unlatched and came loose, it's very unlikely it broke.
How did you remove the styrofoam?
It was glued in place. I used a plastic prying tool to remove it.
@@VictorFainello What kind of glue did you use to re-glue it? Also, any risk of the inner liner cracking while removing it?
@@Creativity4John None, I didn't reglue it as the leftover goo was sticky enough. By inner liner you mean the styrofoam shell, right? Don't worry about it as it's a beefy component, very hard and stiff, unlike the styrofoam used for storing cold drinks and whatnot. Just pry it with a plastic pry tool little by little and it'll come off without any trouble.
Is there a problem with the rain water coming inside the toggle switch for sunvisor and top air vent?
I've ridden under heavy rain many times and never had any issues.
