Insurance companies should be fined for failing to do what they’re supposed to which is offer insurance. Major corporations have gotten away with ripping off consumers for far too long. Also, the manufacturers should also be fined for failing to address the issue and repay all consumers who purchased their vehicle. The problem here is Corporations know they can screw over consumers because they own the government which looks the other way when they commit crimes.

KIA made their cars easier to steal than a cheap bicycle. Mind you, only in the US. In nearly all other Western countries, immobilizers are mandatory on all new cars since the mid '90s.
I had a 1995 Ford Fiesta without an immobilizer as my first car, and it wasn't a difficult car to steal. But it was like Fort Knox compared to modern KIAs. At least you needed the key to remove the lock cylinder from my old Ford without breaking anything.

Kia and Hyundai have know about this for 10+ years and kept making the cars the same way. My sister convinced my niece to buy a Hyundai in January, before they even went to the dealer i told her to keep her away from those two makes, she didn't listen. No insurance company would insure the car but they would allow liability 3 weeks ago someone hit her and insurance still hasn't paid out. My cousins Kia was stolen while they were at an event in New Orleans, they thought they forgot where they parked, it was stolen, insurance paid and told them they would not insure another Kia.

I remember a story saying All State will not stop offering coverage to home owners in states strongly affected by severe storms. That’s pure greed. Insurance companies make more money and turn a profit the more they decide to deny coverage or cover claims. If immobilize technology is incorporated into all known cars now it should be regulated the entire car manufacturer industry input the technology into all cars during manufacturing. The same way regulation was put in place to mandate seat belts be placed in all vehicles for consumer safety. Corporations hate regulations because it costs money because they hate to minimize their profit margin. A wind fall profits tax needs to be put into place to prevent these greedy corporations from committing fraud and the profits from the windfall profits tax should be paid back to consumers.

Got the software upgrade but I quickly realized same as the insurance companies do that the thieves will still break in trying to steal doing costly damage to the vehicle. Was able to trade it in on a new 2024 Mazda CX5. Did get payoff fortunately but the first thing out of the sales managers mouth when negotiating the trade in value was the Kia theft issue. I do drive a 2020 Ford Escape SE in black. That is the brand of cars that I do drive. They were mostly Fords. I drove one car that was a 2011 Mercury Milan. That car had Ford logo stickers around underneath the hood and trunk areas. It was the same interior as a 2010-2012 Ford Fusions. I grew up of my parents having mostly Ford’s vehicles.

She should have traded it in for a Jeep Renegade, instead. When the Soul came out, it was wildly popular. So The Chrysler group released the Renegade. No, it's not even an actual Jeep vehicle. Just has the outside styling of one. But they made it to look-a-like to the Soul. Doubt they'll ever openly admit that fact, but just look at the two vehicles.

    Chargers/Challengers are the same.
I once told a guy who had a nice, blinged out top-of-the line version he needed to get an after market starter disabler.
Four months later I got a random call and it was that guy. He said 'thank you for the advice' - he had done what I suggested so all he ended up with was a smashed window and steering column, but that was it. One of the thugs trying to jack his car got shot by a neighbor and was found at a hospital. The other two were identified by the customer's dash camera with in-car video that got perfect pics of them. Turns out the thugs had impressive bank accounts so his attorney is going after every dime.

KIA and Hyundai suck, and that’s the truth, but I don’t think they’ve lost enough customers, in fact, most people are drooling over the new designs and tech they give you on the new models. Just go look at the video reviews for KIA’s and Hyundai’s. People talk about how "great" they are now and how they are even "better" than Honda 🤣

I still don't understand what the problem is with them. They don't have engine immobilizers that kill the engine if they get stolen? I've owned six cars in my lifetime, the latest one being 2014 Nissan, and none of those six cars had an engine immobilizer. And one of them actually got stolen. Never had a problem getting any of them insured.

    DON'T BLAME THE INSURANCE COMPANIES!
I sympathize with her, but let's understand insurance companies charge premiums and decisions on whether to offer coverage based on statistical risks.
People with poor driving records will pay more because they pose a higher risk.
An $80k Porsche will cost more to ensure than an $80k Chevy Silverado because of statistical risks.
Because of the ease of stealing Kia and Hyundai models, insurance companies are forced to raise rates or deny coverage because if the vehicle becomes a statistic, the insurance company ends up paying for the $20,000 to $40,000 vehicle.

    • @kris.h.8032
      @kris.h.8032 13 днів тому

Well then they shouldn’t call themselves an insurance company. The insurance company needs to remove itself from the market. It’s the same with health insurance. The more they deny claims the more money they make and maximize profits. It’s a grotesque system. All State is now denying insurance for homes in areas strongly impacted by severe storms like hurricanes and tornadoes. Insurance companies are all fraudulent businesses and should stop calling themselves insurance companies because they overcharge, cover less, and look for ways to deny coverage or cancel coverage. Premiums are also a scheme. You pay monthly for coverage but you don’t get what you paid for they’re just taking your money and making a profit out of it. The insurance companies need to be regulated or pay some penalties for consumer fraud. Health, homes, and cars should not be in a for profit system it leads to issues like this and the manufacturers need to be held accountable as well. A heavy fine needs to be imposed on them to allow the consumers to be paid back or at the least be offered a newer vehicle at the same price they paid for that car. Corporations have been ripping off consumers for years because they know the government will refuse to hold them accountable.

That bill showed a premium of $7209. I don't believe she was paying that. Nobody's paying that for car insurance, unless they have a six-figure car. If the Kia was almost paid off, she should have done what she had to in order to get the money to pay it off now, then all she would need is liability coverage. Her insurance company still would have covered her for that. Just go without collision/comprehensive coverage. Lots of people do.

Yup, driving a 2013 Hyundai Elantra and was looking at insurance. I have a spotless record at 38 and quotes coming in at 200-300 a month when our 2020 Subaru was 70ish to insure. I talked to a rep off the clock and he basically said if you want to knock the price down I'll have to put about a grand of security features in it. Killswitch, added alarms, reinforcement etc.
