Very nice reaction. I'm very happy with mine. In the spirit of the original release. The Corgi Batmobiles never had the pin stripes that the TV show Batmobile did.
So many memories! I had the Batmobile and the DB5 when I was a kid in the 70s. Yet more of all the wonderful items I owned that ended up being thrown away in one of the great ‘you’re growing up now, you don’t need all these toys anyone’ purges. 😢
It's kind of futile, isn't it? I had a lot of stuff, comics and models, mainly, 'vanish' when I left home, and work was done in the loft. I spent a lot of time getting it all back. I guess it will all be slung out when I die. 😆😆😆
Corgi did re release the Green Hornet 'Black Beauty' several years ago. It came with a metal figure of The Green Hornet, but, for some reason, no figures in the car, despite there being a hole for The Green Hornet to fit into. So far as I remember, those are the instructions that came with the original model. That's a revised Batmobile, as the original did not have the tow hook for the Bat Boat.
The very first Batmobile release didn't have the tow hook, however, it was re-released - still with the gold Bat emblem wheels With the tow hook, and in the same style packaging seen with this new version. It also came with the BatBoat/trailer for those that wanted it. Corgi have also issued a new replica of the first 1960s release without tow-hook, and in the older style boxing with the fancy display plinth and solid card box, and with the original style red rockets...but Only through the Corgi Model Collector's Club.... Both of these new models are brand new toolings, scanned from an original sample model by Corgi (see the Workbench entries on their website), and are superbly accurate to the '60s release.
Bought one myself! When it arrives I'll shoot a comparison vid on my channel as well! I own a '78 (April) 267 in pristine condition. Me Gran bought it for me in June of '78. Great vid thanks for sharing!
Probably yellow so easy to find. My red rockets was lost forever on their first shot. I used matches after that. It’s a lovely model but it’s missing the red trim on the bodywork. Good video.
Well there were no pinstripes painted on the original Batmobile toy, also the instructions are correct from the original model. For the rocket launcher, you have to rotate the trigger forward not backwards!
I got one today and was most dissapointed that my instructions and rockets were absent from the box! The car is beautiful I just want to shoot a rocket 🤣 (hopefully the seller gets back with replacement rockets sharpish!)
@ lucky!! I just missed out on that one but it’s all good! I don’t think they re-released the matte version but you’re correct on the first one as a matte version. At least I can put a bat boat on the back when that comes out 😆
@@MonstersOfTheUniverse Yes. the 1966 release was first made in matt black. There were 2 versions released, the first release had an opaque slightly see-through antenna and the second one had a painted silver antenna. They are known as version 1.1 and 1.2. Then it came out in gloss black. When Corgi first went to see the Barris creation, it was in matt black, so Corgi released it as matt black. Before the Batmobile was due for 'filming', it had it's final coat of a sort of satin sem-gloss paint finish so as to not reflect camera and crew!!!!!!! Corgi hurriedly changed the paint to gloss black and the first of this new paint scheme are known as version 2.1's. Incidentally, any original Barris Batmobile, (it was sold at the Barrett-Jackson 2013 auction for about 4.5 million dollars), that you see have been re-painted with a very gloss black finish. Only the original Barris Batmobile is steel as it is made from the 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car, , the rest of the original 1966 TV series cars are fibre glass on different chassis mods.
Some versions had yellow rockets. There are 3 corgi re-releases.A first version matt black, only available to Corgi model club members.A second version gloss black,no towhook, red rockets, early non window box (same as #1 except gloss),available through the corgi model club site. And the one in the video, which is the 3rd version with towhook and later style window box, available from the main corgi site, and in shops as I understand. The one I had as a child was the late seventies whizz wheels (4th) version with plastic moulded silver wheels/tyres ,tow hook and static flame. That version hasn't been re-released and I suspect won't be as it's considered not as desirable (but would be to me).

@ricardokim544 You having a Laugh or what? These are generally better than the original as the originals were definitely for kids. These repro re-release are just as detailed and have immaculate paint jobs. Far superior than the originals as they don't have the crappy molding imperfections, for a start.

Holy reissue Batman!. Have to nab one myself!
I remember getting this as a kid in the 60s when Batman first came on our screens.
Next one should be the Batboat
coming in august 2025
I remember having that and a silver DB5. Good times.😊

Glad you said that Brian, as I was watching the video I was sure it was missing from ours.

Buaaa, que añoranza de la firma Corgi, pero veo que este Batmovil esta bastante detallado. Gran adquisicion Sr. y gracias por indicarnos esta novedad.

I love corgi toys vintage but not for new corgi batmobile.

They just made a reissue have u heard about this ? This was my favorite toy as a kid im 59
It did make a ping noise on the rocket launcher , my new one doesn’t either
no pinstripes and came with either red or yellow rockets
Cool
Odd question.. Do the axels feel as strong as the originals?
Yeah, they feel pretty solid
This is overall "very impressive"
But the faces on Batman and Robin are just like: made in Hong Kong, *CRAPP!!!!* 😱
Dear, dear, dear, dear. 💀
So were the Corgi originals
This is a remade later model with yellow rockets and tow hook as supposed to the remade earlier model with red rockets no tow hook and display box
I have the one with the display box and red rocket….
But mine is glossy and i heard they re-released a matte version first , is that right?
@ lucky!! I just missed out on that one but it’s all good! I don’t think they re-released the matte version but you’re correct on the first one as a matte version. At least I can put a bat boat on the back when that comes out 😆
The matte version is the corgi mode club members edition
I meant to say the model club
