I did a potato Mary's Mini as well and LOVED it! It was so nice to not have to think so much...I can't explain it, but it's like making your food so simple like that really takes pressure off meal time. I want to do another one again. Does your husband ever do Mary's Mini with you? I had sautéed (in water) zucchini & air fried potatoes every morning for breakfast and it was SO GOOD. I'm totally with you on the potato loving bandwagon :) Thanks for the inspiration to start another mini!
Yes I complete agree it’s a nice “relaxing” way to eat!!! It’s a good break for me too and this week was so busy I liked the idea of just eating potatoes. Plus it doesn’t hurt to experiment and see if you can find new recipes you’ll enjoy!
Hi Miranda! My college student is renting a house this fall. I'm re-watching all your budget meal videos to get ideas for him (he's a plant based athlete). Thank you so, so much for all the easy buget friendly meals he can make on his own! You Rock!
I'm EXHAUSTED with people who just neeeeed to tell everyone their opinions about what they are eating. You are clearly healthy and active, how much you eat is your business and only yours! Rant over. Your meals all looked delightful! I really wanna try fry wedge lettuce wraps now!
Yes same but everyone thinks because you share a meal or an idea you’re responsible for EVERYONES well being to the extent that everyone has eating disorders because of you. Wish I was joking but I get those comments and it’s really insane to me that anyone would blame anyone for their own actions! Own up and be responsible that sometimes we as humans become to focused on restriction and it’s no ones fault but our own
Hi Miranda. I love love love potatoes too. I actually hired a guy to come here and dig another garden so I could just grow potatoes in it. I go and check it everyday to see if the leaves are coming up lol. I have a giant garden at the back ( I am on an acre) and it’s huge and planted with tomatoes, onions, garlic, cabbage, leeks, beets, carrots, cucumbers, peppers and cantaloupe. Then I have a three sisters garden just for fun. Loads of raspberries and black currants, watermelon and rhubarb lol lol. The best is I live here alone. Then there’s the herb garden. Sounds crazy but I love to grow it and preserve it and share it with everyone. Peace and love and light. ☮️💕
My favorite meal has been lettuce-wrapped roasted potatoes with a schmear of garlic hummus lol So I feel you on the potatoes and the lettuce-wrapped potatoes!
I want to try the mashed potatoes fries! I’m curious to know how they will taste if I put little green onions and nutritional yeast with them…I don’t know why but I think that sound good 😊 also I definitely want to try the chips idea too. I have a spiralizer that does curly fries so I’m excited!!
Love potatoes. I’m on day 3 of my version 🤣 of Mary’s mini and the weight is coming off on a daily basis and I’m definitely not hungry . The only thing I do which isn’t in the rules is I eat some soya yoghurt topped with some sweet chilli sauce over my potatoes and veggies/ salad it’s yummy and isn’t stopping me loosing weight !! 😊 Shopping is so easy !
I loved Mary's Mini with potato starch. I also did the rice mini too. I definitely felt more satisfied on potatoes. I've lost 30 pounds in 2021 on the starch solution, and feel so much better adapting to this way of eating. Thank you for your great ideas. One of my favorite potato recipes is cubed air fried potatoes sprinkled with pickle relish and ketchup. Odd? Yes! Delicious? Absolutely!
Thanks for the vid; I'm gonna start Mary's Mini in a couple days. I've noticed that a lot of MM recipes rely on an air fryer. We don't have one and I'm not going to get one because there's no place in our small kitchen to put another appliance.
Those mashed potato fries look amazing! My youngest says he wished he could grab it through the phone! Please show us days 3-5! I’ve got to try those pickle juice brined potato chips.
They are SO GOOD! I once bartended for years at a restaurant and for the kids meals they had smiley face mashed potato fries and what kid doesn’t love fries?!!!! Hope your littles like them!
I have learned so much watching your channel, and am trying new things I have never thought to try. My husband is a huge potato lover and I'm excited to make some of these for him to try!
I so love how you love potatoes! I enjoy your videos so much , plus I am actually on the Mary Mini for the first time, so it's helpful seeing new ideas for meals.
I LOVE potatoes too! Jeannine from Potato Wisdom UA-cam channel got me hooked on the mashed potato french fries. She packs them REALLY tightly into a container and I think that may help them from breaking apart, but either way they are yum! Oh and if you like yellow mustard and pickles.....Trader Joes just came out with a new summer "yellow mustard and pickle" flavor! You would probably love that one!
I don't think you're a crazy person for having those lettuce wraps with mustard and pickles! OMG! I LOVE pickles and mustard! so delicious! I think it's because you and I both do a lot of endurance exercise and we need some extra salt that we gravitate towards these foods/condiments.
My salt story: First I would like to say I am heavily addicted to salt. The more the better. When I first became whole plant food, SOS free, I was SO free, keeping my salt. Then one day recently I learned I had developed a salt sensitivity. I can't say when it happened, but it's probably been years. How I discovered this is a few weeks ago, I only had eaten yams and asparagus, neither of which I add salt. Yams are sweet like a dessert, and asparagus just tastes too good to add salt. The next day, I weighed 7 pounds less. 7 pounds is a lot of water. When I had salt the next day, I added back on the water. Even if I use Braggs Amino Acid in my salad dressing, I gain some of the water weight back. For me, the water weight wasn't in my circulatory system, thereby increasing my blood pressure. Instead, it went interstitially causing lower leg edema. Now I am working on the salt trying to develop a taste of the saltless (neuroadapting) which is harder for me to do than to go sugar and oil free.
I think I’m highly addicted to salt because of how much I run. All that sweating creates an electrolyte imbalance very quickly! I’ve also always been told salt is good for runners and it’s always in your pre / post drinks!
I've tried a Mary's Mini three times and I usually do about 3 days and then I lose my mind and eat EVERYTHING. And when I say EVERYTHING I mean, the last time I had a Mary's mini, I had not had meat or dairy in 15 months and the next thing I know, I am eating cheeseburgers and pizza and had gained 10 pounds. So-- I decided-- it just isn't for me. I can't do that sort of deprivation. I get every person is different and such-- but I also want to point out-- if you are like me and have lots of "all or nothing" thinking, a Mary's mini might really blow things for you. (I think the thing was-- I can't not eat fruit-- so in the strictest Mary's mini (as i did) it was just too restrictive. Could I have potatoes every meal? ABSOLUTELY! Could I go a week without fruit? NONONONO
I’m actually glad you said this! Yes not everyone has to or is needing to do this! And for me if fruit is a make or break I’d add in it so that wouldn’t happen. We’re all in different spots with our eating and where we are can develop or slide depending on how restrictive we tend to be!
Your potato fries with pickles and mustard on lettuce may seem weird at first, but the more I thought about it, the more it seems like a dill potato salad...yummy!
Another great video! Dod you lose au weight doing the potato mini? Also did you find your tastebud to be different? I want to do it to see if it can help my food cravings but I’m scared I’ll gain weight. Any advice.
I let everyone know this wasn’t for a reset or for weight loss. I don’t weigh myself so I have no idea to be truthful but it is indeed a way to lose! Check out the website link
Can you use the spicy mustard with the Mary’s mini? (The one you always recommend, I’m obsessed with it, and I’m contemplating doing this mini but I want to know if you can use the mustard)
I have to try the potato wrapped in lettuce! It seems way easier than making a salad to eat with my roasted potatoes 😋 I never tried mary's mini, but I really want to once i am done nursing.
Yum‼️ I’ve never tried it but I love all starch, especially potatoes so I’m going to try this possibly next week😊 I’m currently eating my version of your ramen noodle bowl 🍜 😊 so good 😊 Yes days 3-5 for more inspiration please😊 even though I’ll probably eat tons of mashed with green beans because it’s easy to pack for work 😊
I had it cut about a month ago! Took off a few inches, had layers and current bags put in! I love it but sadly always pull it into a pony tail but I love when I take the time to throw in a few curls!
I've seen your weekly budget meal videos. How do you keep on track and not spend more. I'm struggling with that. I want to lower my food budget. For me and my 4 kids
Our grocery budget is set to $40 a week. When we were being extra strict it was $25-$30. Beans, rice, oats, potatoes, etc all for cheap and large abundance but you have to find foods you like and eat them! Meal planning is a priority for us because if you just wing it you’ll always be running back to the store ☺️
Oh my gosh….mashed potato fries are my FAVORITE! I love your suggestion of the romaine, mustard and PICKLES. Yum! If you don’t follow her, you should check out Jeannine @ Potato Wisdom. She has so many great potato recipes. I first learned of the mashed potato fries from her and, like you, I could eat them every day. So good.
Have you ever done the Mary’s Mini? What starch did you pick!?

@@flourishingmiranda I’m normally watching from my tv but I just had to grab my phone to comment lol
I kick started my plant based diet with a Mary’s mini. I chose potatoes! Potatoes are kind of my life now ✌🏼💜 🥔

that sounds AMAZING!!! I plan to have a small garden in our new home I just need to navigate what how much and what time I can spend with it!
I hear home-grown potatoes are amazing and otherworldly
Love, love, love, the painting in the background.

I think "Potato Wisdom" makes her potato fries with onions and spices. She has some great recipes and is on UA-cam.
