Any tips on driving an electric car? I’m coming next month for 9 days and I read that electric cars come with free charging and access to ZTL zones without being fined, is this true? The only downside I can see is the car is a little bit bigger Opal Mokka-E. Thanks for the driving tips, I downloaded this video to watch again on the plane ✈️
Hi there! Great question! There are plenty of charging stations around although I'm not sure if they're free. Most LIDL supermarkets have free charging in their parking lot though. On the ZTL it's good to check on a case by case basis in each town cause some might not let even electric cars in and some will
@@davandj Thank you for the response, I will let you know how it goes in case you ever get this type of question again. I also wanted to say I'm taking a lot of tips from your other videos and I'm excite to see some new places I originally did not plan on.
Hi! Thanks for the tips! One question! how do you find the car ferry service? I would go from mainland to Sicilia, and I wonder if the car ferry is gonna be a problem or if this is straight forward. Any suggestions?
Great question! I haven't taken the ferry in a long time. Usually Ferries go from Villa San Giovanni in Calabria, once you're there you'll see signs to the ferries . I think many ferries leave also from other major ports (Napoli, Salerno, etc) but Villa San Giovanni is the most common. The ferry itself takes about 20 mins, you might have to queue a bit during high season. It's very common for people to take the ferry so you'll find plenty of options
@@davandj Although I have many years of driving experience in Europe, US & Asia I decided to take some special driving lessons when I moved to Mexico. And hell yeah, those lessons have been exciting! 😂😂😂 It paid off: no accidents myself so far, but saw a couple of bad crashes here 🔥 ☠️
Hi my family of 5 is visiting Sicily for 17 days soon traveling from Cefalu, Taormina, Noto, Arigento, to Scopello. We are traveling with 5 big luggages size 30.8 x 20.5 × 10.7 inch. So l'm wondering what would be the best option for us. ( I’m thinking one mini and one suv, Expedia is recommending BMW X1) thank you
I'm afraid X1 will be too small. Unless you fold the rear seats, fill it with luggage and the family rides in the mini. I'd look for a station wagon +1 car or better yet a van that would fit everyone.
Hi there! Good question, all the big ones (Avis, Sixt, etc. should be fine) Also SicilyByCar is ok as a local company! Just make sure you make video of every damage or issue the car has before taking it just in case! Have a wonderful stay in Sicily!
@@davandj what do you think of Centauro from Catania? they have very good reviews on google and they do not hold a deposit if you choose full insurance, instead they have terrible reviews on tripadvisor
Hi there, I don't have direct knowledge of them, I found 2 comments on the Sicily subreddit from people who rented from them without problems though ! I hope this helps
hey ciao, saro in sicilia a fine mese!!
Forse noi saremo a Palermo a fine mese!!!
