Outstanding! Thanks for sharing and congrats to the winner of this amazing piece. That is museum quality right there. I was fortunate enough to get the 1/12 scale Hasbro Black Series Snowspeeder which is also an collectable and an incredible value and when you considered what you got for the MSRP. Up close to this model, you can see the attention to detail that the designers have gone into...it is spectacular. I too have the 1/12 scale Black series Snowspeeder. Hi and thank you for watching and commenting. I love this ship, probably in my top 3 from the original SW movies. I purchased this in Mint condition but with a highly damaged box about 10 years ago and sent it off for grading. It must have been old shop stock as it had never been out of the box and it achieved a 90 Gold from UK Graders. The value of these old vintage toys has rocketed in the last 5 to 6 years and the cost is now a joke.
I watched the first Star Wars movie in a theater when I was 15 years old. The special effects at the time were amazing, nothing like they are today, obviously. This model is beautifully done! Thank the misses for allowing us into her realm. I'm looking forward to the next installment of the Hetzer build. Cheers!
Hi Michael, yes, like you, I was blown away by the early SW films, but Empire remains my favourite. Back on the Hetzer and videos up soon. Have a great weekend.
Thanks mate...just got back...I need new feet🤣...Thank you and it was a real pleasure to meet you and your son today at MCM...just subscribed to your channel and looking forward to seeing your video of the Comicon. Hope to see you again.
A truly epic piece of work... I think my partner would have a fit if I brought that home! At this scale I'm surprised there's no seatbelts, are they in the kit or just not done? The 3.75" & 6" variants of the last few years manage to do it, but it would be odd there's none here, ah well. I think I'll go for the 1/6th AT-AT instead. A guy on the RPF who works on a small island of the Thames, boat building, knocks up some absolutely stunning 1/6th Star Wars vehicles. of which most head off to Outpost One in Germany - The Falcon and Slave 1 he built really have to be seen to be believed! Nice prize, I need to take a closer look at NXT-WIN
Wait! a 1/6 scale Falcon??? I gotta see that....going to start googling now. If you are a fan of Star Wars or anything highly collectable, check them out...they give away amazing prizes. Your comment about seatbelts is a great one...I have the 6 inch version of the Snowspeeder and that has seat belts. JazzInc are great but yes there are a few things they didnt get 100% correct...But to their credit they only make a few of these as limited edition so I guess they concentrate on the wider details.
Have you seen the Jazzinc 1/6 scale Falcon cockpit? It has MANY more lights and even has sound effects and movie dialogs, which are controlled by a small handheld remote control unit.
This is phenomenal. 😲 I was literally almost tearing up when you opened it. Knowing this is something I could never afford to add to my collection of toys I still have from 77’ onward to today is a bit depressing though. lol And I’m guessing either I missed how the giveaway works, it’s already done, or I’m out of luck because I’m Canadian. Thanks for sharing this candid up-close look at this beautiful piece! Cheers!
Hi and thank you for watching and commenting. This is an incredible model and yes I too was very emotional when I was handling it. I love this ship and the others which we all saw for the first time in 1980 when this along with the AT AT and Slave 1 first hit the screen. The SW vintage toys are fetching crazy money for what they are. Last year I saw that a vinyl cape 3.75 inch carded Jawa sold for over $30,000 US. To think this was a plastic toy that sold for less than $2 in 1980, it is bonkers! You have not missed the Raffle, but it is currently only going to be available in the UK. My sons are looking into the option of opening it up internationally, but not sure whether it will be in time for when this is released in May this year. If you follow them on facebook, "nxtwincollectables" they will post when this comes up for a prize. Thanks for Tuning in from Canada, one of my most favourite parts of the world. Yes, The Empire Strikes Back special effects team in were really struggling with the black matting lines. Going from a white ship on a black starfield to a white ship on a white snowfield.
@@tonys_workshop Yes, it was pretty amazing. Yoda was the big news at the time. It was quite a change from the hot sleepy afternoon desert feeling of the first film. Empire felt awake and crisp.
And still looks good now...The first appearance of Yoda, the Snowspeeder & the AT AT was a mind blower for a thirteen year old, let alone finding out that Vader was a Daddy🤣
@@tonys_workshop It was an interesting summer alright. A band called Meko did a disco version of the theme and it played nonstop on the local radio stations.
