I’m Alli Schultz, the owner of Nomad Boutique. I own two store locations as well as an online boutique! I love sharing my insider knowledge about owning a fashion boutique for other boutique owners and anybody wondering how to start a boutique. I always dreamt of starting a business and being my own boss. Thanks to my amazing customers, this dream is now a reality and I want to help you make your dreams come true, too.

Everyone on here who's looking to start an online store, I wish you the best! I'm in the beginning stages as well and I'm so excited. Everyday I go to my regular job, all I think about is how I want to be at home with my family working for myself. If we keep pushing and not let anyone tell us we can't, it'll happen. Hi Ali! This is the second video I have watched on your channel, and I cannot express with words how much of an inspiration I get from you. I have been wanting to open my own petite store for a long time, but the lack of knowledge and ideas have stopped me from doing it. I have always struggled to find clothes that fit me (I am 5'0 - 90 pounds). I love shopping online and I will definitely do my research. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us!

When you first purchase from vendor how many item did you start out with ?

Hey girl! I just wanted to thank you. Your videos have helped me SO much with my online (mainly Facebook) store Grey Byrd Clothing! It’s still a baby, only about 2 months old, but your tips have been lifesavers! I’m a second grade teacher and always dreamed of having my own store too, and now I’ve finally done it! You are so inspiring and encouraging! I worked for an independent boutique for 10 years and had hopes to own it one day. Life happened and that fell through. It crushed me and I lived with regret for years! I have been DESIRING to open my own online store to then one day own my own store front. My husband and family have encouraged me to go for it for two years now. Fear always stops me, but I'm tired of living in fear. "You have risk it to get the biscuit!" Thanks for the info I'm starting a mobile boutique and want to do online sales it was nice to hear I'm one the right track. Btw your right about the trash I did 22 years as a retail manager and opened a lot of stores and I would say the mall needs a recycle bin to put all this in! 🤓

Hey Alli, really appreciate your videos! I have watched a few now and I must say, the things you do and say, I feel like we have had the same experiences! Even when you walk into your store, look at the displays and make comments like "that needs to be steamed" and "well that shouldn't be there". Being a "Boss", Customer experiences, Opening your store experiences, etc!
I have a tip for you and all the other Boutique Ladies (Online too!). Order a custom colour of tagging gun fasteners! I was looking it up on Amazon and wrote a seller to see if they'd send me bulk of all the same colour (they tend to mix up the colours). I find clients are getting sneaky and using Amazon to buy Tagging Guns and Fasteners for $20, but the chances of them ordering in a specific colour and length, in time for the return period...little harder right! ;) . In your retrun policy you can say something like "purple Fastener must be intact"...anyway...always thinking of how to be 10 steps ahead of the imposters (people who act like they are your customers lol). P.S. Wish we were boss friends! I think'd we have a lot of stories to share!

We use a dymo scale it’s bigger and wider and it comes with a corded number pad to show you the weight without the numbers being right under bigger and heavier boxes... it’s great I think it goes up to 50lbs.

Do I need it if I am using Shopify and my store is only online? 2) Where do you get your big storage drawers to house your inventory (as shown in this video)?
