  • The first ever Nex duo without bug abuse or any help from other players. I'm proud that we were able to do this without resorting to PvP equipment.
There were undoubtedly a few minor mistakes, but I'm still very happy with the way the kill panned out.
HUGE thanks to Woox16, wouldn't have been able to do it without him.

10 year anniversary this month. Fun times. This was a huge accomplishment for me back then.

Nex is coming back to Osrs! You should try her out again when she’s in game.

Idk if you still read the comments but why chaotic maul? And why do you use stab and the other one slash?

I guess you're talking about phase 2? Generally speaking, there was a lot of guesswork because Nex had some strange/unique mechanics which nobody had figured out yet. (See phase 4, where Woox asks "Why am I tanking?" despite us having identical gear equipped... We figured it had something to do with lowest defence bonus getting chosen.)
Anyway, during phase 2, Woox used a maul and claw specs on Nex while I used rapier on the Blood Reavers. Maul had the potential to hit high (at the trade-off of slower attack speed and lower accuracy), and we were essentially gambling on lots of good hits to pass this phase. This was the hardest phase to pass and it was thought impossible at the time because Nex healed for the remaining HP of the Reavers. I did as much damage to the Reavers as possible with my rapier (while dumping claw specs into Nex) before they despawned.
As for stab/slash, we weren't sure which style worked best at the time. This was shortly after release. IIRC, the 2 full sets of Pernix were two of only 3-5 in the game. I owned my set and we had to borrow Woox's set in pieces, with crazy collateral, from rich merchants. The Pernix had negative melee attack bonuses but it was the best option because we needed to range at times. A full Nex armour set was necessary because it increased your max HP and the amount of healing done by brews, also switching pieces or tanking any off would cause you to lose the HP bonus tied to the item/set, so switching armour would cost a couple hundred life points each time which was out of the question.

If he had even half a brain he'd keep the account but I'm sure the allure of money was very strong to someone so young. Crazy to think that he could've been a huge YTer if he had played his cards right.

There was no money in UA-cam or Twitch at the time. I was just a kid, who grew up in poverty, who became capable of earning $10k+ per month overnight. I cashed out. It probably cost me millions in the long-run, but it is what it is. I used the money to escape an abusive family member. I don't regret it.
