Congrats man! Been here since you've had around 500 subs and it's been awesome to see you grow on UA-cam and insta! Can't wait to see you at 5k subs and more!
Your channel is one of my favorites. The editing and various camera angles you use really makes a huge difference. Thanks for that. Also, the Typhon is such a great buggy. The speed is amazing. And going 70mph with an off road car is silly anyhow. That car dollar for dollar is at the top of my list. It’s one of the most versatile all around performers out there. It’s durable and looks fantastic. Great video sir.
Thank you very much it really means a lot when people appreciate the time and effort i put into my videos and that is a really kind thing to say so thank you :) Its a very versatile beast the Typhon its capable for speed, stunts/jumps also track based stuff so its just a great all rounder!
Nice run, This buggy was the reason why I fell for Arrma. Have the Felony too. 6s it does cover ground very quickly for a buggy. As for Ovonic batteries, I've slowly replaced all my other brands to run nearly everything I have on Ovonic batteries. Brilliant punch and capacity and at a great price. Choices of connectors out from the factory is epic too. Everything from RC cars to Aircraft including several EDF jets and quads. Absolutely love them and their range for all types of RC's is brilliant!
I just got 3 ovonic 3s lipo 5200 50c in the mail for my typhons today. Bought a mega(brushed) typhin used. Installed 6s set up in it. Bought a 3s typhon this week new. So much fun out of the box
Great buggies man! I do want a 3s Typhon to go alongside the 6s as sometimes its just too crazy to use in some places and the 3s must be a nice balance of power.
Remember that’s bone stock..... the typhon is a great rig. Mine runs a 44T spur and 27T pinion running dboot hoons and I get 87mph all day on 6s. They fly with very little mods
The water on the road was slowing it down some. It causes resistance and all 4 tires are grabbing and slinging water the whole time. On a dry day I think you'd see an increase in speed.
That’s dope! My step dad just got one he wants to race 😂 we putting bets on who’s gonna win him or me and after this I’m pretty confident should be a really close race
Love the drone, just awesome! I went ahead and put the 20t in there. Stock is 16t so it's not super tall. On 4S with the 20T I got 52mph on my street, oops! I adjusted the steering rate really low for the speed run and it was rock solid. Thanks for the great video. I'm waiting for some decent weather in New England for a 6S speed run. I wanted an Infraction that could go anywhere and this is it. Cheers!!!
i will be fitting the 20t soon and retrying i cant wait to reach 70mph+! Yes exactly the typhon is the most versatile i think in the ARRMA 6s range as it can do a bit of everything its not just limited to on road like the felony and infraction! Thanks man and have a great day!
@@beyondRC Just to add to that, I put the Scorched RC fenders on the Infraction. Cranking the suspension all the way up the stock Typhon tires actually fit! If you've noticed the Typhon tires are slightly shorter than the Proline Badlands buggy tires. Those actually won't fit. On a field near my house I was able to get 50 mph before running out of room with the Typhon. With Typhon tires the Infraction hit 54!!!. I could have completely destroyed the field with the Infraction so I had to be careful!!! Have a great holiday and looking forward to the next videos!!!
Quick update, since I had the 20t on the Typhon I took another blast down my street. Yikes!!! I hit 64 with the Proline MX Badland buggy tires ballooning like crazy. With no contact patch from the tire I aborted as the buggy was close to being uncontrollable. It maybe better with the stock tires, I don't know. Anyways I think the right tire for the job is the best way to go. Your speed run street looks a little narrow as is my street. A car park (see that 😃 ) might be the way to go. Looking forward to the next video!!!
I'm running with the Arrma Hoons tires this week and I'm running the 20t all the time now. The 20t probably won't work in the summer. With the Hoons hit 62 on my street but it is totally controllable. Since the tires are shorter that changes the gearing. Just an FYI. Oh, I changed my shock oil a little and put 45w in the front and 40wt in the back. Big difference! Really took the bounce out of the buggy. It's just planted now. Have a great day!
Hmm… i got 100 kph on my Typhon 6S. The first run i used the katar tires and reached 96 kph, then i changed my tires to the proline badlands and hit 100 kph . I guess it has something with the temperature and humidity who plays a role in why there is up to 10kph gap between the same car when it comes to speed runs. I dont know are there any inputs why? Btw i have my gps placed under the body so theres nothing who will stand in the way for the aerodynamic on the body and wing, having the gps on the wing will make you lose some kph and mph under this insane speeds
Little Rocket, I have a 3s and upgraded it to run 4s and its awesome. But I'm really wanting this 6s Beast. Wonder what the big difference is besides being able to run 6s.
The 6s is super cool, however, after picking a V5 6s up this afternoon and driving it with my V2 3s side by side for comparison, I like the 3s more. I drove the 6s on 6s & 4s power and while it does have a bit more top end on 6s power, it’s nowhere near as snappy or lively or nimble as the 3s on 3s power. I’d say the 6s is a bit more sure-footed and more ‘scale’ handling due to its weight but, truthfully, if you need to adhere to a budget, the 3s is ABSOLUTELY the way to go and even if budget isn’t an issue, I think you’ll be happy with the 3s, period. The 6s is built like a tank in comparison, but the 3s is still super durable. I’ve yet to break anything on the 3s since new, though I’ve spent a fair amount on upgrades, ie threaded metal shocks, servo, radio, sealed bearings. Straight out of the box, the V2 3s was equipped with garbage and in need of immediate upgrades for it to even work satisfactorily. The V3 seems to have had those problems fixed. The V5 6s straight out of the box is a very solid performer. On a 1-10 scale, I give the 6s a 7 and the 3s rates an 8.5 ✌🏼
Man that was zipping lol, I definitely agree mate, these big heavy buggies at 57mph is blooming quick and seems even faster due to its big size.. congratulations on breaking 2k + too mate.👍
Thanks man! Definitely felt quicker than 57mph but i was well happy with that especially on stock gearing so cannot wait to see what it can do on the bigger pinion ;) Would love 100mph out of this baby in the new year! Better start looking at upgrades!! Cheers mate massively appreciate the support and its crazy how far its come since april!
What's up my RC fam. This will be my second run with this RC thing. I've watched so many videos, it's crazy to see how many peeps are into this. My first purchase was a Arrma Typhone 3S..All I can say is this thing is sick. Just UA-cam it!! My question is what type of Go pro do yo guys use to make the videos?
Bought a pair of ovonic 3s Lipo for my sledge…they are physically different sizes.. so after one run there was a difference in voltage draw… 10.92/11.43…hopefully one of the sizes was correct so if order another it’ll match one of the two…..seem to work fine in singles but the pair together doesn’t work well
Hi just a quick tip, don't use Ovonic Lipos. They don't put out the power you think, I ran Ovonic 8s on my XO1. And got 80mph. But when I swapped out my batteries and used "Floureon 8s" I got 102mph!.
Unfortunately the mavic mini doesn't have follow mode so can't track objects in motion is a shame but its great being small, portable and light to get some good shots with only way would be to manually fly it whilst someone else is operating the typhon😔
@@bobbysimpson5540 sure they do i went for the mavic mini as it falls into the "toy category" here in the uk being 249g anything above they have changed the law and certain licenses are required which is a pain :( if the channel continues to grow nicely like it is i will be upgrading all my gear as we go and getting all the appropriate licenses etc ;)
It would have gone even quicker in the dry on wider spot. It looked like you had to do a fair bit of steering to keep it in the middle of that path. Can be difficult finding a wide open space in the UK. I'm lucky I have a unused runway near where I live in Bristol and a 500M length of unused dual carriageway. 👍
It is extremely hard finding speed run locations as everywhere where i live is always super busy. Trying to find quiet long roads is very hard. Where i filmed this is private land and good for this sort of this but not wide so makes very nervous and less room for error! Thats ideal and ideal for speed runs!!"
@@beyondRC Yep-although scale is arbitrary because these are cars that dont exist. Get em from Banggood and others! They are brilliant in the same way that the 144001 is brilliant. You will get a much better vehicle if you spend more (LC racing EMB trashes the 144001, no comparison for durability and quality, probably the same if you compare the Typhon to the Cheetah) Its a Chinese special but been around for at least 4 yrs and still selling. Theres a few recent vids on here of people getting em (RCUNextuesday,10th scale garage amongst others)
How much are the battery’s? I want this car but my local shop said 650 plus tax but with battery’s and charger said 1200 after tax CAD that seem right?
Dude, don't get the cheetah you'll regret it .. it's trash ... I bought one and it broke on my first drive and I was easy on it.. it was hard to find parts and complicated to fix but got it done .. Fixed it and give it to my brother and bought another cheetah because I thought the first one was defective and was just a lemon but boy was I wrong ..those things are designed terrible, bring when think bout giving it a light bash with jumps ..it will brake withing the first 3 minute's fir sure .. go with armas affordable 3s lineup ..I have all 4 of their 3 s rigs and they are bad ass.. 50 mph out the box on 3 s and thet take a beating.... I thrash thenm at the stake park and they rarely break and when they do they are easy to fix and easy to find parts
Typhon is brill for speed runs, have you seen the Jlb Cheetah 120 advanced, if you get offered one for a good price grab it. Every vid ive seen this thin is a silly monster truck on and off road !! fair bit cheaper than the new Typhon as well.
@@beyondRC I'm all good Ricky thanks bud. All ready for Xmas now, at the risk of divorce I may have gone overboard for Sawyer however. Difficult to say as i was doing speed runs but lasted over 20-30mins for what i was doing which is great. Continuous running will probably see closer to 12-15mins i would say but again hard to say for certain it really does depend on many factors
Hey, if I buy this rc car and those batteries u showed...just put the 2 together and im good to go?? Like did u make changes or is this how it is out of the box??
Thats right two 2s batteries connected together will make 4s and 2x 3s will make 6s. I am now running the included speed pinion which comes in the box as I have been doing speed runs but its plenty fast enough as it is out the box 👍👍
@@enwenhuang1467 yeah thats right the car uses ic5 connectors so be sure to get batteries with ic5 connectors or you can change connector but not sure what your soldering skills are like ha

Hey, im planing to get back into hobby after 20 Years (now i got 14year old son) and i think i ll buy typhon 6s, which lipos ( would like to be under 100$) would give it good power?
@@beyondRC i think i ll buy one, i have 2 turnigy rapid 4s for typhon ( its upgraded to 8s) can i buy them for EU? I can’t find anywhere, only on Amazon and american site
I realize that this arrma is better than my wltoys 124017 in virtually every way, except one, speed. I want an arrma typhoon but my 130 dollar wltoys can do 40 mph on 2s and just under 63 mph on 3s completely stock and on stock wheels. The entire car is cheaper than the esc on this arrma. As far as durability goes the arrma wins, but not really because while the 124017 will break more often, not a single part by itself costs more than 15 or 20 dollars US aside from the motor, esc, and servo which all together is around 60 dollars for the lot.
The 124017 is a great little buggy, but this is in another league. Yes the wltoys is just as quick or quicker, but the typhons build quality is way better. Also, the wltoys is 1/12 scale this is 1/8 scale so a lot bigger which means it also weighs a lot more than the wltoys. This buggy is one heavy beast and ultra stable at speed. You can't compare this to a wltoys its better in every single way imaginable. I'm not hating on wltoys I have lots of them which is why I can comfortably make this statement. Yes it's expensive, heavy, needs 6s to get the speed but as an overall package the wltoys doesn't come close its night and day difference. Not hating on the wltoys or your love for them but they simply do not compare.
very similar i would imagine. I have never had a Vorza so cant really compare but they look similar and use similar electronics its purely a case of what you prefer styling wise i think the typhon looks better and i just prefer Arrma to HPI. But we all have different opinions :)
Soldering xt90 is easy and there are lots of videos showing tutorials on youtube 😃. The thin wire is for smart batteries to get the telemetry details. If using aftermarket batteries you lose this feature instantly. If you use ec5 connectors and run spektrum smart batteries this feature will work but it's crazy expensive for what it is 😎👍
@@beyondRC yeah i know how to solder lol i just was confused with that thin wire ok so what do i do with the wire if i solder the XT90s on it? Cause i dont care for the telemetry i just want the XT90s on it

2x 3s hardcase lipos will not fit wont let the bodyshell lay flat its not even close so i have to run on 1 4s if i knew this before i ordered it i wood not have gotten this rc im selling mine iv never even used it if arrma goin to design a shell they should design one that fits with batteries in it plus the hole in the shell from the v4 sucks they pawned off a v4 shell instead of a new shell without the old antenna hole i have 9 arrmas and this one was a letdown
Higher capacity doesn't mean more power 😉. Same as C ratings. 200c 100c 50c the electronics will only pull what they need. Gearing and electronics choice is the best way to increase speed 😎👍
@@beyondRC I wouldn't have said it if I didn't know. Now you said higher capacity doesn't mean more power well how do you know then if you didn't try it. Go do your research on the videos. I saw someone use them you didn't so don't sit there and tell me higher capacity doesn't mean higher power.
Haha you are clueless my friend.. very limited RC knowledge. Just a typical Smartass behind his keyboard thinking he knows it all when it comes to RC. Check out my beginner guides. Tailored to suit someone like you 🤷😎
the 6s is much heavier due to it featuring many more metal components. The BLX range is mostly made out of plastic and is much lighter requiring way less power to get it up to speed.
Save you guys some time, but give the video creator a thumbs up anyway please.
4S = 40mph / 64.3 KPH

Are they 1/10th?
@@beyondRC Yep-although scale is arbitrary because these are cars that dont exist. Get em from Banggood and others! They are brilliant in the same way that the 144001 is brilliant. You will get a much better vehicle if you spend more (LC racing EMB trashes the 144001, no comparison for durability and quality, probably the same if you compare the Typhon to the Cheetah) Its a Chinese special but been around for at least 4 yrs and still selling. Theres a few recent vids on here of people getting em (RCUNextuesday,10th scale garage amongst others)
@@icabodpsillycyberman414 Yeah but the Typhon gets there in Style...😎
@@donuttime2507 Read my reply properly, i already acknowledged the typhon is a better vehicle! (it better be since it costs nearly twice as much)
@@icabodpsillycyberman414 I never said that you never said that. I'm just saying that the Typhon is worth it purely on looks.
Great content. The mighty Typhon. Love it.
Very mighty indeed! Thank you!! 👍😎
Do those 2 3s batteries fit under the shell. I was having issues with some spectrum 3s batteries not fitting
They fit fine but i have heard people running hard case 3s lipos have trouble! !
Yes the ones from Spektrum don’t fit
Does the 3s ovonics batteries fit under the body with the clips fastend
How are those ovanic batteries holding up? I have heard they ain't half bad.
They are holding up great! Have been running this thing on 6s continuously without issue! Would highly recommend them!
Nice! Do you think I could use one of those Ovonic 5200 mAh 2S batteries in a stock wltoys 124019 without issue?
No will be way too big something like a 2200mah would be fine for the 124019
Awesome show !!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very cool! The diffs make a lot of noise lol! What oil are you running?
This is stock out the box 🤣
Any other recommendations for cheaper buggy with similar specs?
radix 4/6
what are the adapters to put the ovonic batteries please
Been thinking about purchasing one of these bad boys, do you recommend it ?
1000% Arrma build quality is second to none! Worth the extra cost over budget models built strong, tough and able to take a bashing!
I just bought a 3s and a 6s and I'm well impressed and over the moon with mine and my daughter Christmas presents.
I just got one last week, this think is a beast, thinking about truggifying it for added stability
How much are the battery’s? I want this car but my local shop said 650 plus tax but with battery’s and charger said 1200 after tax CAD that seem right?
Is the jlb cheetah worth its price? If if not what other vehicles would you say is worth it in the 300 dollar range
I haven't tried a cheetah yet so difficult to say how good it is. A lot of people have said its great for the money..
@@john-nk4kr thank you for this info I will not get the cheetah
My Typhon six s keeps getting hot and shutting down how do I get longer run time I'm running spectrum smart batteries 100c
That was awesome 😎 respect ✊🏻

Typhon is brill for speed runs, have you seen the Jlb Cheetah 120 advanced, if you get offered one for a good price grab it. Every vid ive seen this thin is a silly monster truck on and off road !! fair bit cheaper than the new Typhon as well.
I have and i have my eye on one in the new year! it is definitely on the wishlist thats for sure! Will look into that! Hope your well mate :)
@@beyondRC I'm all good Ricky thanks bud. All ready for Xmas now, at the risk of divorce I may have gone overboard for Sawyer however. So you know we have a shared 144001, which he loves, and those little bits we got donated, well over the last few months I have a xinlehong 9136,2 X 1/18 Deerc cars I can't remember the models but 1 does say Black Ghost lol. There's also a 12428-b, all brand new by trawling eBay for those odd sales you know are wrong. 🤣🤣 And to finish I have a A949 coming but won't beat Xmas 🤬. Wife doesn't know about this yet !. Anyhoo have a great Xmas if you don't post another vid 😀...Oh have you also seen that new car, looks like a baby infraction !
@@philhumber1534 Wow thats amazing the collection is really growing! Next vid is looking like it may be after xmas now as things are a little busy behind the scenes but you can expect some really good stuff coming to the channel in the coming weeks. I certainly have and i have one on the way courtesy of banggood for review/testing!! Very excited about that!
@@beyondRC Mate that's brill, the channel is blossoming and so pleased for you. Let me know when you get some stickers and stuff to buy, give what I can to the channel. 2.43, better try and sleep 😂
Thanks mate dont worry about it I think you sent me your details already as soon as I get a chance will pop some in the post!!
Can you fit those batteries in your Typhon without having to modify it? Thanks
yes. but i hear some people that try and fit hardcase lipo's have a tough time fitting the body shell back on
HI , wich was the running time with those batteries? thanks¡¡¡¡¡¡
If I buy this car on amazon, what else should i buy??
Thats right two 2s batteries connected together will make 4s and 2x 3s will make 6s. I am now running the included speed pinion which comes in the box as I have been doing speed runs but its plenty fast enough as it is out the box 👍👍
@@beyondRC so get the car, and also get 2 3s batteries, and all I have to do is attach the battery and its ready to ride??
@@enwenhuang1467 yeah thats right the car uses ic5 connectors so be sure to get batteries with ic5 connectors or you can change connector but not sure what your soldering skills are like ha
@@beyondRC ahh, ok Lol. So 2 (3s) or 1 (6s)? And either way, what battery do u recommend that is compatible with the rc car??
Just want to say to Ricky and everyone, have a great Xmas and new year, keep safe in the current climate and let's hope this nightmare ends soon for everyone so we can get out and enjoy our toys ! 🎄🧑🎄🍻🎁🍻🍖🍻🥮And finally more 🍻🥳🤪
Thanks mate you too have a good christmas and new year! Hopefully it all goes away soon!
Hey, im planing to get back into hobby after 20 Years (now i got 14year old son) and i think i ll buy typhon 6s, which lipos ( would like to be under 100$) would give it good power?
Probably ones that he use, you can see in a vid name of these
The ovonics used in this video would be ideal
2x 5500mah 3s or 2x 5200mah 2s
@@beyondRC i think i ll buy one, i have 2 turnigy rapid 4s for typhon ( its upgraded to 8s) can i buy them for EU? I can’t find anywhere, only on Amazon and american site
Is it ever dry by you 🤦♂️are u in the uk or where bud
I certainly am in the UK!! hahaha the great british weather. World famous for being horrible all the time!!
Very good batteries 😜
Hi Can I put 2x3s lipo of 36mm height in the car?
How does this compare to the HPI Vorza Flux?
very similar i would imagine. I have never had a Vorza so cant really compare but they look similar and use similar electronics its purely a case of what you prefer styling wise i think the typhon looks better and i just prefer Arrma to HPI. But we all have different opinions :)
How do you get your body on with 2 packs? I just got one and when I put 2 packs in I can't get the body back on.
you using hard case packs? I believe this is a common issue i am running soft case without issue!
@@beyondRC Thanks for your help, excellent videos enjoy watching. Keep them coming, very helpful info.
Planinc to get turnigy graphene 6s lipos, how much run time can i get at 3000 mah? It you know sir
not a huge amount it will work but i would suggest 5000mah +
What type of GPS is that and where did you buy it at?
SKYRC GSM-015 just google it should be in stock locally or if not banggood sell them too!
What do you feel is faster stock out the box on 6s cheers
This Typhon is insane even on 4s! Its my first 6s buggy so i cant compare to anything else im afraid :)
Iv got the v2 with 22tooth pinion dose 50mph on 4s
exactly i have a feeling we will see some decent speeds even on 4s with the upgraded gearing!
Which speedometer do you use?
SKYRC GSM-015
57mph is blow your car up in a crash speed
2K! 🥳
we got there!!
Now why, WHYYYY, wouldn't you run it with the faster gear? That is the whole point of the video to see the speed test! You just wasted my time.
How do you solder xt90s? Cause i notice theres a thin wire between the factory connectors and all my batterys are xt90s :/
Cause i dont care for the telemetry i just want the XT90s on it
Just cut it off or secure it somewhere if nessesary. It will not impact performance or have an effect on the buggy 😎👍
@@beyondRC okay thank you brother im planning to order one on Friday just wanted to make sure i really wanted a E Revo 1/16 but i have too many Traxxas cars so im going to make the Typhon my first Arrma car 😁

Thanks and sure :)
2x 3s hardcase lipos will not fit wont let the bodyshell lay flat its not even close so i have to run on 1 4s if i knew this before i ordered it i wood not have gotten this rc im selling mine iv never even used it if arrma goin to design a shell they should design one that fits with batteries in it plus the hole in the shell from the v4 sucks they pawned off a v4 shell instead of a new shell without the old antenna hole i have 9 arrmas and this one was a letdown
i feel your pain man. The softcase ones i used work perfectly i didnt think 3s hard case would be as much of an issue.. :(
For that kind of money!! Hell no! This thing better push and get to 100 lol 😂 I was thinking about it but now it’s a no for me
I want one just cause of the noise
They do sound amazing!!
Looks slow compared to vorza to be fair. Good video thanks for sharing. Batts look 👀 ace 👍🏻 😎
But the vorza is old now 😜.
Old lol . It’s still ace .😎👍🏻
Absolutely 💯

Why my typhoon stop steering
The gears in the steering servo might be stripped or the arm for the steering servo snapped and maybe the steering servo burnt out
Remet factory if it still dont work get a New servo
Reset factory oups

Get the 6,000 milliamp batteries and you'll go 70 mph
Higher capacity doesn't mean more power 😉. Same as C ratings. 200c 100c 50c the electronics will only pull what they need. Gearing and electronics choice is the best way to increase speed 😎👍
@@beyondRC I wouldn't have said it if I didn't know. Now you said higher capacity doesn't mean more power well how do you know then if you didn't try it. Go do your research on the videos. I saw someone use them you didn't so don't sit there and tell me higher capacity doesn't mean higher power.

Typhon 3s does 45 out the box on 3s .... Something don't add up 🙄
the 6s is much heavier due to it featuring many more metal components. The BLX range is mostly made out of plastic and is much lighter requiring way less power to get it up to speed.
