    I'm a little ashamed to admit this, but whatever this is a safe space. I haven't read a book(not even for school) in a little over two years. I start a whole bunch and none stick. I don't know the cause (it could be school, Netflix, anxiety or my FOMO) but I really feel like I'm getting further and further away from reading and I do not want that.

      +Lizzie Dymond oh wow that's sounds like a serious reading problem... mmh do you like audiobooks maybe? They take longer to read so by the time your done with one book your hand is hopefully better too ;) get well soon :)

    • @VanessaMarieCreates
      @VanessaMarieCreates 8 років тому +3

      +Lizzie Dymond I had a similar problem, from a wrist sprain, one thing you can do is lay on your side and prop the book up against a soft pillow (you can also you chip bag clips to hold the pages open) with a smaller pillow holding the pages open at the bottom. Or you can sit up in a comfy chair and put a pillow (or two) on your lap while the book lies open, and all you have to do is turn the pages. Also, I have a bunch of squishy pillows (with these bead things instead of stuffing) that are great for just piling in different positions to hold up books, so if you have anything like that, they're very useful! Most of these tips work best with large hardcover books, I don't know how well they would work with a mass market paperback. I hope this helps, and feel better!

    You know what got me into a massive reading slum? The mortal instruments. I absolutely loved the series! I started it 2 years ago I think and read the last one 1 year ago. After I finished it I couldn't really get into another series. It was like I knew I would never find other books that are as good. I couldn't even get into The infernal devices. Also, i was pretty busy the last year and I think I didn't finish more than 2 books. Currently I am rereading Harry Potter and I hope it helps me getting out of this massive reading slum and that I can finally enjoy other books again. I always loved reading and I'm really sad that I didn't enjoy it in the last year.

    This is the most amazing video ever! All of these apply to me... One slump was missing though! The reread slump. It starts with the mourning phase, then you just can't pick up a book Why? you may ask... because all you want to do is reread that awesome book you read 2 years ago but you also don't want to reread it because you've already read it but at the same time you could get over that slump by just rereading the book... NO then the mourning phase comes again and you are back where you started!

    I had the a case of the reading slump too, but it was something entirely different than the ones you were stating in your video. However, while watching book readers such as yourself motivates me to get off my phone and start reading. And normally if I am in a reading slump, I normally read my favourite book. That normally helps in those troubled times.

      +polandbananasBOOKS Hi Christine, I think it's so cool and nice that you responded (didn't really expect you to, you must get loads of comments on your video's). I just wanted to let you know that you cheer up my day with your videos. I'm from the Netherlands, and a few of my booklover friends know you as well. It's realy awesome what you have accomplished by talking about books and making funny sketches. You've made my love for books so much bigger than it already was. Thank you. Lots of love from Holland!

    Can anyone reccomend me a good book? I've been running out of ideas on what to read. I like Fantasy novels (Mortal Instruments, The Selection and such). I'm also fond of Maze Runner. At times I like to read romantic novels (Me Before You, If I Stay, etc.). But I'm not really picky, those are just the usual kinds I read. I'm open to any kind of book. Suggestions? (PS not really sure if I categorized the books right. No hate. I just wanna read)
