Catching up -- that's an amazing looking & rare fish you got -- congrats on the little gem!! If she is going into a new, cooler tank... maybe a Blue Spotted Jawfish could be an option too? ;-)
Congrats Marc. I'm really happy for you man. I think this is the most happiest I've seen you in a long time. You deserve it. Keep her happy. You should name her Kaitlyn btw. Since they both make you happy.
Beautiful fish. You deserve it. You work hard and make sure your animals are well cared for. Look forward to seeing more footage of her beautiful colors.
That's awesome brother! Such an amazing little fish! I had an opportunity to buy a joculator a while back but I wasn't situated for such a fish at the time. In any rate, enjoy it and it's great to see a smile on ur face! Good luck!
Congrats man! Thanks freaking awesome. My fish that I have always wanted is an Achilles tang. I can only imagine How happy this must be to get your dream fish! Maybe one day for me. But i just wanted to say im super happy for you!
Absolutely stunning fish and very well deserved Marc, just go get everything you want , life is to short to overthink, we are here for a visit so we have to live with no regrets 👍👍👏👏
Awesome video. This is my first time here but I've been in the Reef hobby on and out since 2016. Love it. Wish I had more money for it. 😆 thanks for sharing.
I'm back. That is gorgeous! I noticed on the pics from your friend that fish had some stripping on the back making me think yours is still in juvenile dress? Still very cool Angel. Congratulations on a special fish it be great if you can get a mate and breed them.🤔🐟💙
Marc, you are an amazing person! I love you and your reef.... congrats on the bucket list. BTW I love the "Caitlin's Fish Saver " lid! Do you sell them?
Yes, I can start offering those 2-gallon acclimation bucket covers. That one kind of fell through the cracks with everything that has gone on, but I saved the design I believe.
What did I do yesterday? Its all a blur. I went to do a mass frag buy and got distracted by collector's LPS. Intention: Fill the open spaces with twenty or so favia/favites/blasto frags. Actual: Buy 5 psychadelic LPS including an ultra acanthophyllia that cost as much as my German Shepard and absolute orange blastos that I have never seen before.
Hope you enjoy your fish . Your channel is very educational. The cheapest fish I have is £1000 gem tang . I also have an Easter island black tang . And a conspic angel fish from lord howe island Australia. I was seriously considering a rare flag fin cross hybrid for £12000 . But I’m investing in a popular restaurant at the moment so I had to take all my strength to control the urge . For now then I’m going to move on to super rare ultra corals £4500 for a frag 🤣🤣🤣🤣
dude I put my captive bred file fish in my tank and it died from being overwhelmed by the corals/anemones. My advice is put it in an accilmation container in the tank to prevent it from getting stung by corals and killed immediately.
Beautiful fish. I can't believe the price of it ,wow! I would have been nervous as heck to have this kind of priced fish shipped. Glad everything worked out and all is well 🙂
As always thanks for all the work you do on these vids. Have you done a vid on power backups? I’m sure you have a whole generator but I’ve just got a small 30 gal.
Congrats Marc! Random question: Are you going to sell the clear circular acrylic lid for the bucket on your website? I would love to purchase one for my safety stop setup. I have the 2 gallon buckets that I use.
Beautiful fish! Could you not just grow them bigger in the isolation box and or make a bigger box? Might be easier than another tank unless u can plumb it in easily.
Congratulations!but I want asking you Have ever lost any expensive fish 🐠? Actually the reef tank looks gambling My budget was 250 now I spent more than 1000$
I used to wreck my cars also and bought used cars off my Dad for $500. The good old days. Wish I still had my 1988 Toyota Tercel hatch back 4 speed. REAL GAS SAVER.
Glad you finally got your dream fish. My question is that you didn’t quarantine. Is this a common practice for you? Did you skip this step because you know the source well enough?
It was raised with siblings in an aquarium, disease free. Then it was shipped to AmongTheReef, who put it in a clean tank with new water for one day, then shipped to me. In this case, nothing was needed. Usually any fish I buy goes through Safety Stop, a two part medicated bath. I have plans to set up a new QT later this summer.
I hope all the marketers seeing this comment just drop away forever.. 😂 That fish cost as much as four of my vans.. And I bought it on ten payments of fifty bucks a month from friends of mine. 🍀💫💕 And, meanwhile, I am happy you could spend money on something you really wanted for all these years.. I just snorkel and dive, here in Hawaii. So, I get to swim with all the pretty fishes already.. But, I have a brackish 55... with a couple of puffers. 🌴👣🍻 Aloha. -Scotty on Maui.
@@melevsreef I've always been told never to open the bag. Once the outside oxygen hits the water it turns ammonium into ammonia. I'll have to look it up again
@@joe0813 no, that’s not accurate. The closed bag depresses the pH. That helps with the ammonia during transit. Once you open the bag, pH will begin to rise but it’s not fast. I had it in that glass for 5 minutes before I acclimated it in a bucket using an airstone and water trickling in. If you watch fish stores acclimating, they float bags for temperature, then slice them open leaving them floating and pour in a little tank water every 7-10 minutes until they are fully acclimated. Prime isn’t a bad idea though, but in 25 years I’ve never encountered a fish I purchased having any issues by opening the bag for the acclimation process I described above nor how you observed in this video. I’ve done it both ways. Remember fish that have to be shipped usually aren’t fed to reduce waste in the bag. The large volume of water this 1” fish was shipped in didn’t even have any visible fish poop.
I thought the C stood for coitus. I seriously thought it was a joke. 😂 Anyone else like “hurry up and open the box!!!!”? Congratulations on the new addition!
It helped my nerves with an unboxing like that already seeing after photos on social media. 🤣 Exciting to see the new addition in such great condition and the care taken to confirm shipping. I did recently add another fish about the same size to my 300 after having in a side tank for a couple of weeks. Interestingly the other fish got over it very quickly since it was so small by comparison and could easily avoid contact in crevices.
Congratulations!!
Every part of this story is amazing from your humble beginnings to achieving your dream fish.

Looking forward to seeing the next one , stunning little angelfish 👌
Thanks Mark
This is also one of my top all time favourite fish! Congrats 👏🏻
Congrats Marc! Love seeing good things happen to old time reefers that give back so much! You deserve that beauty. Long live interuptus!
Seems so happy and healthy already! Can't wait to see it grow.
Congratulations on getting the dream fish!! Looking forward to footage!!

I go to cuttlefish every week they also have the dr suess soapbox fish

Almost tempting to set up a breeding tank and trade in some stuff to get a second one, huh? Would be amazing :D
Great to see your journey, Marc. I’m excited to be your fish twin! 🙏🏻
What's the price?
I finally pulled the trigger and got rummy nose tetras for my tank. Granted it wasn't 2k but it was a big purchase for my nonexistent fish budget.
You should name her Caitlin ❤🐠
I watched this and felt the joy you must have felt opening this box.
“Most expensive fish ever”
The poor peppermint Angel is sat in the corner
"that I've ever bought" -- I'd love to buy a Peppermint Angelfish but I can't swing that one.
@@melevsreef haha, I’d love one too among other angels (Many of which in the genus Genicanthus) Interruptus are stunning as adults though!

Such a pretty fishy mr Melev sir! 😍🥰🐶
Great story. Dreams do, sometimes, come true! Congratulations.
enjoy!
Cingrats!!!!
Awesome fish! How did you come to decide not to quarantine and treat with copper/API General cure?
I explained why in the video. Basically it was always in good water, not interacting with any other fish or fish systems that share water.

I did one in Reef Diary, Day 16. But I want to do that one more detailed in a new video so it can be emulated.
@@melevsreef thanks, it just seems like there should be some better options for small tanks than generators and computer backups.
