      No problem, they are usually early, pre release versions which are slower and could sometimes have stability issues. The one in this PC is a tiny bit slower but it's a lot cheaper than a non es version and I didn't run into any stability issues.

      Haha I never realised until now AMI was American megatrends but I knew that bios logo looked familiar from somewhere 😂. Thanks I ended up boosting the minimum fan speed in the bios which did help stabilise the fan, that rattling nose is gone now. Either fan is faulty or its just spinning too slowly on the default curve 🤔

    Nice review, mate! I’m thinking about buying the R9-7940HS ES version. Besides the 10% performance difference, is there anything else that worth mentioning about these ES Ryzen processors?
    Are both your mini PCs still working good so far (this one and the R7 7840HS one)?

    • @VrtuhubTech
      @VrtuhubTech  День тому +1

      I had thought about buying the 7840hs ES version, maybe next month. Both computers are still fine, I'm using the 7840hs for programing and I sold the 6800h es to a friend (they fitted 64GB ram) and never turns it off, it's been on 24/7 lol. ES versions can be unstable, so more prone to crashing, blue screens etc as they aren't the final consumer revisions. I didn't have this issue but a few reviews have mentioned it on Aliexpress but I would say it's rare, they are using near final revisions that should have these issues ironed out. If your CPU is bad you'll know rather quickly and aliexpress return policy is good. Most of the reviews on these ES versions are positive. They offer huge value for money but I would recommend buying the barebone version and installing your own RAM and NVME SSD unless the price is very attractive. Drivers can be annoying to install though but genmachine have them on their website now. If you are considering purchasing it please consider clicking through my affiliate link I'm still buying most of what I review and this helps support my channel s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DB3XIYb thank you for watching ☺️

    Hey, thanks for your video. I haven't found any other ones that go into detail about the ES version.
    I recently ordered an R7 7840hs from AliExpress. When the device arrives, how can I find out whether it is perhaps an ES version after all? In my experience, some retailers are not entirely honest when it comes to their item descriptions.

      Mine arrived yesterday, so far so good. It doesn’t have any stability issues or crashing as far as I have tested. Updated all the drivers and Win updates. No strange sounds coming from the fans which you stated to be a defect that came with yours. We’ll be using this primarily just as a church live streaming device, where we hook up our two cameras at church. It’s pretty much overkill 😅, I went with this option because I know that this device is a good future proof plan for years to come. It was able to output 1080p streaming quality which we wanted smoothly and with no hiccups. 💪🏻

    is this ok if i bought 8gb and 16gb from different brand and put it altogether?

      Depends, sometimes it works but sometimes you can run into issues. With these Chinese brands it's hard to tell and even if it works you might run into stability issues. Ideally you want same brand, speed and capacity. You can try it and see how it goes and increase your chances of stability by buying the same GB speed and brand. Goodluck

    Hello. Is it real to increase video ram more then 2gb that automatically exist on this system?

    • @VrtuhubTech
      @VrtuhubTech  Місяць тому +2

      The video memory is taken from, your ram, so if you had 16GB RAM 2GB will go towards video, leaving you with 14GB for the OS. you can allocate upto 2GB but in most modern games even if you exceed that amount it will take additional RAM for video memory.

    Great review!
    Fristly I was not familiar with ES cpus and I afraid getting it not stable. So I bought such machine on 6600h es. I thought that on 6600h es more deffective blocks may be disabled and chip will be more stable. Now I regret not buying 6800h es version.
    In my case frequencies are lower. for cpu single core 4.35Ghz and for gpu 1.8Ghz.
    I found that gpu can be overclocked using AMD APU TUNING UTILITY. But in my case incresing gpu frequency even on 200 mhz leads to consuming lots of power but gaming performance increases only about few percents. So I decided not to overclock it. It looks like vendor deliberatly left lower more stable frequencies.
    As well as you I turned of that casing fan. It's usless in my case, because I decreased in bios tdp level from 45 to 35w tdp. There is no need for ryzen 5 more power. I prefer system to be cool and consider that it is not worth that. For example in cpuz bencmark at 45w tdp score was 4350 points. But at 35w tdp I get 4100 points. So for ryzen 5 no need to give more power.
    I found few drawbacks.
    First is this fantastic cooling system, which I love for being so quiet. The issue is in construction, some potion of hot air leaks inside the box and considerably heatups ram and ssd. Is really noticable after game playing(30minutes enough). For example if cpu temperature is 60 degree ram temperature is the same level or even a bit higher. I even decreased tdp to 25w via AATU. And it's enough even for playing games on my ryzen 5 6600h
    Second one, bad wifi connectivity, I changed wifi adapter but nothing changed. But I noticed that wifi antennas are so small and weak. I suppose that they don't allow the wifi adapter working fast and stable
    So check your ram and ssd temperatures. Maybe it will be a good point to lower tdp

    • @VrtuhubTech
      @VrtuhubTech  3 місяці тому

      Thanks I've set the tdp to 65w and removed the tiny fan, it runs okay and I also overclocked the GPU to 2200mhz, which is the stock non rs frequency and it worked fine but I have to manually set it in boot so I don't bother with it. 🤔😂. The vrms feel cool I did touch them after gaming to check they weren't burning and they felt alright the 6800H ES is definitely the best value and I've not had any issues with it, even virtualization for Linux VM works fine 👍

      @@VrtuhubTech Good to hear that temps are good.

      @romakushnir2820 3 місяці тому

      no you have 45w, watch your review while playing game. there were tdp shown less or equel 45w
      and yep, have got a defective fan, I don't have such issue. but I believe that it can be quickly fixed disassambling that part were cooling system is and try to figure out why fan touches case. mayby some spacers should be placed
