Brilliant!! Thank you. This is how I was trained to be a clinician. I am glad for Genspect and for bringing forth these champions of the medical and psychological fields who can lead me and my fellow clinicians to fight the good fight against gender affirming care

Same reason anyone who talks about this particular topic with anything other than complete affirmation soon finds that every single comment we make on any video gets immediately marked for review. They get downvoted and reported en masse by those who hate reality and who have a stake in making sure nobody can get actual information.

@aidananstey9848 We would think Democrat voters would know better than to put their radically captured Party in power over the country with their blind loyal and reckless vote. Fairly decent people keep reckless voting this evil into power over us. Why?

I've watched many detransitioners' videos and interviews.... NONE of them have ever described anything close to this kind of therapy or in depth process.

Even when people who are still living as trans talk about the process of getting on hormones, it never sounds this in-depth.

Very likely because it has been made illegal by Trans Rights Activists. "Anti-conversion" legislation is a lot like "Anti-racism" policy, explicitly aimed at achieving institutionalised conversion of gays into straights and creating racism where it doesn't exist
Critical Social Justice (known as "clown world" to many) has been designed to "centre the margins" and to dismantle social concord and cohesion..

@@friendshipbunny2559I've heard people on tiktok flat out lie about the process. There is a shocking number of people using this to get attention while doing absolutely nothing to transition and then lie about it. Which encourages the naive and vulnerable to go through with shocking processes that damage them for life. I don't mean that as an insult I'm naive about many things and would have been easily swept up in this had I been much younger when this happened

There was a point that he made about the family choosing how to proceed. Can the family truly proceed freely with munchausen by proxy? Obviously, the therapist is asked to accept the premise there can be a "transition" if the family can determine freely how to proceed.

That's one problem: when narcissistic parents are pushing.
There's even cartoons about this: son chooses pink cupcake over blue. Mom and Dad are ecstatic their little boy is trans and she's on the phone bragging to her girlfriends.
(Boy says "the pink looked tastier".)
When I was a teen, I was influenced to smoke weed and resell quarter pounds ($40/ounce), took PCP, LSD, opioids, etc. I feel like I escaped easy.

    • @TheWeirdSide1
      @TheWeirdSide1 Місяць тому

@@gg_rider Yes, it's true. I watch in pure frustration and more as my own sister constantly grooms my niece to be gay/trans like she is. She is the only one in the family who is not straight. So she pushes everyone around her to be like her. I found it too much to witness with my niece, so have completely stopped talking to my sister or visiting. I still see my niece when she is with her father. Last time I saw her she had pierced ears(age 9!) and bright pink short hair. She nearly cried a few days later because she said her hair was no longer "pretty". Of course I said "no no". But the fact is, she liked her long natural hair, and I have no doubt she was pushed into changing it by her mentally ill mother.

Thank you for uploading this outstanding presentation. I’ve respected Dr Levine for decades (particularly with regard to his work concerning anorexia and deliberate self-harm). It’s wonderful that Dr Levine has weighed in here with his well considered, evidence-based views.

This is great, but it's also just a very detailed way of saying do a comprehensive assessment, come up with a psychological formulation based on that assessment and proceed with psychotherapy (or other relevant mental health care) based on this. So, just standard good quality psychologically orientated mental health assessment and treatment really. It's sad that experienced clinicians need to be told this. It ought to be a given that this is what everyone is doing (with all their patients. Not just the gender confused ones).

With their license being threatened initially by the Obama Administration and now the current dysfunctional Democrat goverment, the government recommended and enforced Affirmation Care only is what most mental health and medical professionals will be highly motivated to practice. The repercussions of going against the WOKE domination of our current government and educational institutions, and even our WOKE pressured medical institutions is just too license and employment risky to stand up against.

LACK of neutrality seems to be a big part of the issue due to the widespread expectation that medicalizing is perfectly safe and normal and in a person's best interest. It's sad and irresponsible that trusted professionals don't generalize and apply at least these basics as would be expected in all therapy goals.

  • @user-rv7ph1jl5y

What would be different when working with adults when the adults and beliefs held by the so-called "professionals," are part of the widespread cultural problem, leading to GAC via medicalization pathways in the first place? It seems unfathomable that so many young, trained therapists influenced heavily by cultural constructs would themselves be able to grasp future changes in the culture and how this can be a deep error for so many seeking " solutions".

I grew up in the most masculine environment with no influence. I became so sick and depressed, I kept it a secret for nearly 40 years. In the end I had no choice but to expect I was trans. It contradicts what this guy is saying.! How do you know these kids won't become depressed like I did.? How many kids will end up taking their lives because of this guy.? If it makes us a happy functioning member of society.. What's the problem.?

Part of the problem seems to be that kids are raising other kids on social media. The influence of adults in a kids life is demolished already in adolescence- why add more inexperienced youth from all over the world who have no direct stake in each others lives to the mix? There are childhood friends we grow up with, and there are click here to be my friend- friends.

I once heard a person refer to the abuse that was inflicted upon her as "my abuse". I immediately corrected, no, it's the abuser's abuse, not yours.
I'm not a psychologist, but this way of phrasing things which encourages self-worth is intuitive for me. Along the same lines then, I find it rather disappointing to to hear this man call children 'trans children' while he is still diagnosing them. This is exactly the kind of 'grooming' de-transitioners speak about. It's extremely unprofessional behavior, and goes against the entire modern understanding of NOT PLANTING IDEAS IN PATEINTS HEAD. For those obviously confused in nauseatingly high numbers in the comment section, yes, there are some good mechanics around. You are lucky if you find one. There are also A LOT of bad, dishonest mechanics around. Is it okay with YOU if I point out the bad mechanics? Do you mind if I do that? Would that be okay, your highness? Thanks. Appreciate that.

I understand that new psychiatry patients should have a medical review first. In the case of a person suggesting a gender change, would that evaluation also include levels of certain hormones? Would deficient levels cause gender dysphoria? And if a prescription for a hormone medication is provided, are the levels monitored? Does the FDA really know about the roles of all the hormones in our bodies, and their proper levels?

What a delightful, likable man! This is the kind of old school physician you’d see treating several generations of the same local families for his whole career. This is the epitome of what a trusted family practice doctor should be like in his demeanor and philosophy. Someone who projects intellectual authority through an even keeled confidence in his own knowledge, an empirical amount of longitudinal experience, AND self aware & open minded humility.
