I am learning to say no to consumerism - realizing I don't need something just because it is on sale or because someone says I need to buy it. I'm sharing this information with my husband and we are slowly getting there. I can already see the difference in our home! And today, my 6 year old old me she wanted to do what I'm doing and only keep her favorite toys. It's working!

Once when I was at the supermarket a woman was speaking to her friend in a loud tone or so it seemed to me. I looked around and the cashier and others didn't seem bothered by the woman's voice. I realized that the quiet life I live has made me sensative to loud noises. I like quiet. Any coments?

I agree. I think habits are a big opener where people aren’t doing these. It’s a big one to needing to change for people if they want to stay that way. They need to make that effort to form these habits. I think one is cleaning cleaning cleaning. Most people delay cleaning and I’ve noticed a ton of “minimalists” are adamant about cleaning up right after and tidying up.

I've been listening to your audio book every day whilst I'm driving in my job, probably about 4 times now (I'm working on brainwashing myself lol). Sales items were always so tempting; I love a bargain, but now I ask myself "am I just buying it because it's on sale?" and also I think how much more money I save by NOT buying it! I haven't successfully minimised my home yet; it's a slow process, but I'm changing my mindset day-by-day.

Minimalism is a wonderful tool to get our priorities right , more time for the people and things we love than being a slave to inventory ,as they say , If you are feeling lonely when all the distractions are gone , you may be searching for an even greater meaning to life . We are all born with a question ,what is the meaning of this life ?and what is my purpose in it ? Are we just meant to get up and get on the treadmill of the next day same old same old . I felt this many times in my life and hadn’t found any answers to my questions. I went to a church but it was all religion and only gave me more hurdles to jump over and no fulfilment. I heard the story about Jesus but , no one around me seemed to know Him , just about Him . I came to the end of myself and couldn’t get my life together a struggling single Mum . Then I met Him , He showed me the real reason for His life on earth, He came to bring us back to our Father in heaven , to have a relationship with God . We couldn’t before believing in Him ,because we have sin in our lives and we are separated from Him ,because He is Holy and righteous. The weight / wages of our sin is death . Jesus decided to come to this earth and become the payment for our sin , He had to die for my sins . Just imagine you are in a court of law you are standing in front of the Magistrate and he says you have robbed a bank and killed 3 guards , you are guilty you will get the death sentence. Then Jesus comes in and says Magistrate I will take her place for her she doesn’t have to die I will die for her . Then I am declared free. Jesus came to set us free from the power of sin in our lives and promises that we will live with God for eternity, God wants to have a personal relationship with us , forever. Jesus answered all my why questions, but also gave me a new heart to be loving kind grateful and thankful, my life turned from what has life got for me ,to Jesus you did the ultimate sacrifice for me, what do you want me to do for you. I married again and we have 17 children, some mine from before, a couple of our own and the others are gifts , we fostered them and they became our own children as well . My life has been transformed, when you said, “ now that you have decluttered you feel lonely . Jesus is a friend like no other , and I have had many disappointments with so-called friends in my past . Just call out to Him and say,” Jesus if you are real and what this person says is true , you need to show your self to me . I will pray for you, from one who was lonely once too. ❤️
