- The Baikal MP-18 single shot shotgun (imported by USSG) seems to be a good break action shotgun for it's price range.

👍
I have the older model of this gun in 20 gauge. Ive taken about 15 ducks with it this year. I love it
good video buddy. i bought an mp-18 in .410 ga., a couple of years ago, and have it stoked for home defense. i have practiced with it a few times, quick reloads, etc., and it's a fun weapon to go boom with. no regrets on the purchase. keep up the good work.
carry on!!
Enjoyed your review and yes, I agree...with the various adapters, mine makes a perfect truck gun. I have a Turkish made one. Also decent quality, with the composite stock, butt is hollow, have a fire kit, micro cleaning kit and 2 extra shells stored in it. In a separate chest pack I have the adapter set, small flashlight, survival blanket, and multi tool stored, as well as additional rounds. Also have a 5 shell holder on the butt, a butt cushion and attached led flashlight, penlight style on mine. Also a sling for hiking with it. In an emergency, if I must leave my truck, I will be armed and ready to survive a couple of days as I work my way home!

Your laughter is so cool
Great video as usual brother. Keep'em coming
I have an old wooden stock single shot Baikal made in the USSR. Cost me £15 and I’ll never part with it. Legend has it they’re made from old USSR tanks and train tracks!
The first gun my dad gave me was a single shot. I have many fond memories of hunting quail, woodcock and ruffed grouse with him. He has passed away now but I still have the gun, though when I throw the little thing to my shoulder it's a little like shooting a pistol! Thanks for bringing back some good times.
Awesome comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
Damn good review buffalo keep them coming man
Thanks Jon!
I have a fully automatic single shot 12. It is amazing.
is it also Assault style?
a single shot shotgun is a must have for anyone who has firearms if you ask me.If I'm not mistaken they have the least amout of moving parts of any firearm.I have a 20 gauge H&R that I will never sell. They are getting harder to find these days.
Yes they are a must have for sure. My dad kept an old H&R around the house when I was growing up. I learned to shoot it and it taught me to make that shot count. Good to hear from ya man.
Very nice. I have the same one. I got it almost 2 years now and just love it. I find myself always going back to it. I also picked mine up from bud's. My dad shot clays with it and also fell in love with how it fits in your hand's and sits on the shoulder. Like i said iv had mine almost 2 years but have not even swaped out the bead so im looking forward to seeing what your doing to yours. By the way your blueing looks better then mine. Mine looks like it got blued over rest and has a slightly brown tint to it in the sun but iv also put over 500 rounds trou it and put meat on the table with out ever worrying about anything going wrong with it. Great pick on your part way better gun and with a way better price point then the way over rated H&R.
Thanks. I'm with you in the opinion that these are one of the best deals on a qaulity single shot shotgun around. I will be posting another video this winter to show what all I've done to mine. Some people will hate it some will love it......just like anything else in life. I appreciate you watching and leaving the feedback, stick around the channel for future videos on this shotgun.
My first gun I got as a kid was a Midland gun company just like that but wood no kick out Loved it killed everything with it
Very fun little boomstick! You got some skills on those clays brother.
Thanks Uzi. It is a lot of fun, especially when price is considered. A lot of BOOM for the buck.
top notch reviews and that's a cool single shot.
Hey thanks bro!
Great price for a fun shooting shotgun, Thanks for the look/info
You're welcome my friend.
I think I'm going to get one! Thanks for the review Buffalo
You're welcome. Hey I should have pointed out in the video that this shotgun was very "tight" out of the box. I sprayed it out good with some Break Free CLP and opened and closed the action a few times and it loosened right up.
Thanks, Great Tip!
Great value shotgun
Thanks. I feel like it's well worth the $
It looks well made. Thanks for the video.
I've actually posted an update with some changes I've made to this shotgun. Some won't like it but I customized it for my use. Thanks for watching. I appreciate the comment. If you're interested in seeing what I did to the shotgun here is a link-- ua-cam.com/video/IFgBxpj0GkM/v-deo.html
Thanks!
A very nice Baikal Pal.
Man,that's lot of fun.!Nice voice,very nice voice!
Nice pitchin' and shootin' !
Thanks!
The Baikal and the Beretta 412 (with many clones from Turkey and Effebi) are the best single shot designs IMO. If you want ejectors go with the Baikal, if not, the fold in half design of the Beretta 412 is very practical.

Thank you good video
You can't beat a shotgun it's the " do everything " tool . Great video !
They really are! Thank you for tuning in.
Very nice good and exiting round.
Very nice gun
Single shot shotguns are my first choice when mooching with the dog and don't want to be weighed down . Might only take couple shots or none . Usually have a bag full of other stuff . Baikal are excellent if short in the stock . As said , great shooting .
👍
Like your stuff--- keep it up.
Thanks!
Throwing your own clays! I will need to work on that. Fun little gun!
Heck yeah, it's a lot of fun.
The simplicity of a single shot...amazing how it slows the shooter down requiring them to concentrate more on target and trigger and overall control...not to mention the FUN FACTOR! Buffalo have you ever done a video on the use of a rifle/hand cartridge adaptor for a shotgun? This sounds interesting. Nice video!
I have not but I plan on it. I am working on getting some adapters in the calibers I already own and shoot. I am going to make some changes to this shotgun, of course you will see it as I go along I will post pics on the Facebook page. Then when I am done a new video on this gun.
My first shotgun was a single, it came apart just like this one, that was in 72, lived it need to find another to store it in my truck
It's hard to beat an old single shot shotgun for beating around. My dad always kept one when I was growing up.
sweet shotgun bro
Thank you. I'm really liking it.
Got one today for 97 bucks it's an old one says made in USSR on it and dosnt have the extractor ejector switch cant wait to go to the range with it
I have several Baikal long guns and they are built like tanks. I have a 3and half auto a double both in 12 GA. and a 762x39 single shot and like them a lot. Really dig the 12Ga single my friend.
This is my first but it's definitely opened my eyes to getting more. I've always heard good things.
can you still get these guns!
Don't think so unless some one has it in stock from awhile ago.Or second hand. Pretty sure import has ceased.
Bud's still shows them in stock. I don't know how long they will be available.
Another great video!!! I’ve got 3 of these Russian guns in .410, and really love them! Fun to shoot and it points better than some of my much more expensive shotguns!
Love a single shot as it slows down the shooting to work on all your mechanics and so forth...Good vid...Maybe turn it into what they call a survival shotgun...
Shhhh!
Sweeeeeeet...
A single barrel shotgun that has some interesting features. That extractor/ejector deal is good, though perhaps unnecessary? Its kinda sad to see companies like H&R cease manufacture of their single barrel shotguns and rifles and it seems only foreign companies want to make such a thing now.
Agreed, for my purposes I will most likely never use extractor option though I could see where some would like it, especially if they shot at a trap range.
my first gun was a single shot 12g..a gift from my grandfather. .killed my first dove with it 27 years ago..it's still one of my favorites
Memories like that will certainly put a smile on your face.
I don't like my single shot, it extracts and ejects fine but I get a lot of failure to feed, must be that cardboard magazine :)
Bahahahaha!
just buy single shot auto
NAHAAFB hilarious!!!! But seriously, try firing it one round per trigger pull instead of going full semi-auto.
Do you have the 30 caliber clip seated all the way that might be the issue at hand
Super
Nice gun I like the eject option on it. You just can't beat a God old single shot shotgun. The first gun I ever bought was a New England 12 gauge 20 years ago now for the large sum of $79.99 plus tax. Still got it won't sell it. I was shootin some 3 inch 1 oz slugs the other day ya that stings a bit.
My dad always kept 2 types of guns around the house when I was a kid. Some type of 22 rifle and a single shot shotgun. We got by with those so that says something about them.
I like Baikal. I have a side by side and it is wonderful.
Seem to be quality pieces for sure.
Nice
Neat break down shotty
Thanks Don!
Do they have a baikal mp-18mh in .270?
Great clay shooting . Especially hand thrown.
Thanks!
I did not know Baikal firearms were still available in USA. Maybe our new president will have a factory built here! They really are amazing firearms. Wanting so much to have a side by side like in my youth, and not being able to afford a Parker bought a Baikal. Shoots so well and very amazing quality. Very nice real walnut stock. $325 brand new 2012 Dallas Texas gun store
Good gun. Hello from Russia 👍🖐️
I have 3 Baikal mp18's. 1 in .223 and 2 in 12ga. one of the 12ga Baikal barrels is chopped down to 18.5" so I can use it as a pack gun/spare survival gun. it weighs less than 4lbs and I have a wood for end on it to add weight. lol.
my favorite is the .223. with the right loads I can hit out to 1k yards. it gets boring shooting steel at my local 600 yard range with it lol.
it's always a head turner too because of its pencil thin barrel and simple break action operation.
NIce, this one is currently undergoing some changes. I am shortening it's barrel to 18.5 inches and giving it a makeover with a new finish. How do you like your short barreled version? I am curious since this one will be that way. I'm gonna pick up some short lane adapters for .22, 9mm and .45 acp as well.
Will we see a video on it? Please, pretty please?😂
william wells video is up today
cool
You may also notice that it's barrel is as thick as Mossberg 590A1's. Completely indestructible.
Great little shotguns for sure!
Got a few baikal's and just ordered a USSR made 12/70 for 60 bucks. Except for the bloody rust they are good guns, use some rust protection product more hefty than just gun oil.
They are good for the price, thanks for the tip on the rust protection.
i also have Baikal MP18,mine has birch wooden stock.Very good gun for the money, the only problem is that this thing kicks like a mule!
I agree, good guns for the money.
Lean into it like your life depended on it.
I loaded the stock up with extra shells to give me more weight to try and tame some of the recoil. That's also one reason the release lever kept cutting my fingers so I put a piece of rubber hose over the latch and hasn't been a problem since
Hi all i have a Baikal Russia wood MP-153 semi automatic calibre 12x76mm mean 3" mean magnum and the length barrel 71cm and with choke number 0 and choke number 3 and choke number 4 it is written only in the all chokes Lead and Steel and 90 MPa MOB and the number 11 arrow within a circle and written in the barrel gun 18,4 there is a logo i think this number is the diameter of the barrel of the gun. Yes, it is the diameter of the barrel of the gun and there is a gun number that is normal. i can shoot cartridge steel shot ?
I squirrel hunt with mine, its in 20ga. I have used mine for 2 years now. it's taken a bunch of squirrels.
Awesome, these shotguns are good for so many different jobs.
I've got this gun in 20 gauge and it's put many a bird on the dinner table. Only downside is i can't find another one to keep it company
You can thank Obama for that he eliminated import of Russian small arms
I have a 12 and wanted a 20 to go with it but no more allowed into the country
👍
Hi . Can you buy one. ? With the problems with Russia . I mean are they available for sale new ?
🤝
Having trouble with misfires....and understand I'm not the only one. Not even a dent in the primer at times even after re-cocking and squeezing the trigger sometimes up to 4 times. When I break the gun open and then close it after a misfire I can get it to fire more consistently than just cocking and trying again. It is a better balanced weapon than my NEF/H&R single shots but not nearly as reliable. Cocking the hammer before firing is not that inconvenient especially since in over 46 years of shooting H&R or NEF single shots I've never had a single failure to fire. I was going to use my Baikal with modified choke as an all around camp security and small game harvesting weapon for prospecting as it does shoot a fairly accurate slug out to 75 yards with just a bead and then with some squirrel shot it hammers small game fairly well but with just one shot and grizz and mountain lion where I camp, I want my one and only shot, a Brenneke Magnum Crush slug to come ripping out when I pull the trigger. These idiots that pass for gunsmiths here won't even take a look at it so it will be reserved for shooting at doves, quail, rabbit and squirrel in situations where I won't have to rely on it to save my life.
I still have this one and haven't had any issues yet but I will keep a close eye on it. I don't tend to hang on to guns that don't work. I like the H&R shotguns, every one I've ever shot has worked as advertised. So far this Baikal is doing the same. If it starts giving me problems I won't hesitate to post an updated video addressing such. I would never steer anyone toward a gun that didn't work for me. Thanks for bringing your issues to the attention of myself and others reading the comments section. When I do a video on a firearm folks need to understand that I only have that one sample (in most cases).
Hi! Such a misfire can be when not until the end of the closed bracket of the platoon. Before the shot, finger press it until it stops. Perhaps the reason in this. I wish you good shots!
Thanks Евгений Пес4, I'm going to give that a try.
I bought one of these a few yrs ago In 12ga and love it my only complaint with it was the break lever behind the trigger guard would scratch my hand when it recoiled but I put a small piece of rubber hose over it and problem solved was gonna buy 20ga also but thanks to Obama they're no longer imported
I haven't noticed the lever scratching my hand but if it does I'll know what to do, thanks for the tip.
Hi! How much is that gun you have? Good shots!
Thanks. It was 124 + tax.
👍👍😍😍
add in a couple of chamber adapters, in popular calibers? & throw in a few reloadable brass shells (with supplies, primers & powder) & it could be 'The Best LONG term SHTF gun, ever!!!
Awesome idea. Certainly would be a great "stay alive" gun as far as putting food in the belly.
Which choke do you use sir?
waiting for the tarkov comments to come in
Can it be folded and fit into a backpack?
Love to carry mine feels smooth and smaller without that hammer poking out .
❤️❤️💯💯
similiar in price top a hatfield single shot, i think i like this one better. i dont see them around here in ne ohio. could you get one with a full choke of you wanted?
The supply is drying up on these. I haven't seen any around here in a while.
V nice gun U can deliver it me to Pakistan
Is it safe for steel shot? )
Do they make this one in .410?
Yes
🎉
There is a Sporting version of the riffle.
Buffalo's Outdoors
We’re not importing them anymore are we? I’d like a double!
Max range shooting?
if I understand baikal.com
there are rifle round barrels to? and you can have multiple barrels
Egyszerű, mint a faék. 🙄😁
My dad has 2 of these hah
Cant get them new right now in Canada because of this stupid ban on Russian goods.
TRY THE LEGACY 12 GAGE SHOT GUN. SINGLE BREAK ACTION SHOT GUN MADE IN TURKEY.WHEN I GREW UP ALL THE GUYS HAD A REMINGTON 514 SINGLE SHOT 22 CAl rifle AND A SAVAGE 12 GAGE SINGLE BARRELED SHOT GUN
I have the same one that you have
Where did you, and anyone who's bought one, buy your's from? I'm having problems finding one.
I bought this one from Bud's online and had it shipped to their store in Lexington.
Nate Huller I got one from Big 5 sporting goods.
I need one hard to find
is there an issue if you shoot too many buckshot cause of the pressure n stuff?
no problems shooting factory loaded buckshot ammunition through this shotgun, other than a bruising on the shoulder ;)

I miss being able to get Baikal over and unders. Those guns are tanks. I still have my Baikal coach gun though. Washington needs to come off that embargo shit with the Russians, it's useless. They need to stop pretending the arms embargo is because they care about Ukraine, because they really don't. The need to admit it's really all about keeping those evil AKs and Saiga shotguns out of the hands of the American People.
